Chapter 188 Born Rabbits

Due to public pressure, 90% of Yuxing Entertainment's business was forced to suspend. Although Xiao Fan came out immediately to clarify that Li Peiyu was just his sister, netizens felt deceived and did not buy it.

With some free time, Li Peiyu buried herself in her graduation thesis.

Lu Yuzhi was actually quite happy about this, because every day when he came home he would see his wife. Although his wife's career had stalled, he was secretly pleased, even though it was a rather unethical thing to do.

When Lu Yuzhi returned home that day, Li Peiyu was lying on the sofa, engrossed in watching a drama on her laptop, so absorbed that she didn't hear Lu Yuzhi's footsteps.

Lu Yu squinted at the male lead on the screen, then glanced at Li Peiyu, his jealousy flaring up. Ha, he was so infatuated; he'd been standing right next to her for ages and hadn't even noticed.

Lu Yu said, "Wipe your drool."

Li Peiyu turned around and said, "You're back quite early today."

"Okay, I'll come back to be with you soon." Lu Yuzhi said, taking off his coat. "But you're looking at other men behind my back."

"I'm just watching TV dramas."

"It's mainly about the men inside."

"Looking at him like that, I think he's not even a tenth as good-looking as you."

Lu Yuzhi smiled; those words sounded nice.

"I study why the audience likes to watch even when the casting is bad and the plot has problems."

"Because it's a simple, straightforward story, it's entertaining and doesn't require much brainpower. Missing a few episodes doesn't really matter."

"So, does this mean Yuxing Entertainment will have to invest in TV dramas like this from now on?"

"Invest in whatever you want, our family isn't short of money."

"No, I don't like the feeling of losing money."

“You know, we’re a match made in heaven.” Lu Yuzhi sat down, his long legs looking a little cramped between the sofa and the coffee table.

He pulled Li Peiyu close and placed her on his lap. "Didn't you say you were writing a paper? How many words did you write today?"

"I barely managed to finish writing it."

"So fast?"

"You're very smart."

"Let me see."

Li Peiyu bent down and found the paper on her laptop. "Take a look at this."

Lu Yuzhi placed the laptop on the coffee table, still holding Li Peiyu. He quickly browsed the browser, his fingers moving across the mouse. Li Peiyu buried her head in his neck, inhaling his scent.

Research on Career Design and Development Issues

It's actually quite well written, with basically no major problems.

Lu Yuzhi frowned slightly, looking at Li Peiyu, "You can write a paper like this on your first try?"

Li Peiyu blinked. "Um, is it well written? I'm still a bit unsure about it."

In fact, she had written it in her original life, revising it several times. Although she didn't remember every single word, she roughly remembered it.

Lu Yuzhi looked down at the screen, a strange feeling welling up inside him. Something flashed through his mind for a fleeting moment, but vanished instantly. He tried to capture that fleeting image, but his head throbbed with pain.

Lu Yu held his forehead, a pained expression on his face.

"What’s wrong with you?"

"Headache."

"Is work too tiring? Let me give you a massage."

"Um."

She sat on his lap, facing him, and massaged his temples.

Perhaps feeling comfortable after the massage, Lu Yu leaned back against the sofa, closed his eyes, and pulled Li Peiyu into a tight embrace. He fell asleep shortly afterward.

Li Peiyu nestled in his arms, afraid to move, her heart aching for him, seeing him so exhausted.

About half an hour later, Lu Yu finally woke up.

He stirred slightly and felt the person in his arms; her breathing was even and steady, she was sleeping peacefully. Lu Yuzhi gazed at her sleeping face, his heart filled with tenderness.

He gently shook Li Peiyu and said in a tender voice, "Sweetie, wake up, have dinner before you go back to sleep."

Li Peiyu slowly opened her hazy eyes, still looking sleepy, and murmured, "How did I fall asleep too?"

Lu Yuzhi affectionately stroked her hair and said softly, "You've been exhausted lately."

Li Peiyu gave a soft "hmm".

"Let the doctor take a look at you tomorrow and give you some treatment," Lu Yuzhi said with concern.

Li Peiyu's face instantly flushed pink. She lowered her head shyly and softly hummed in agreement.

"Why are you blushing?" Lu Yuzhi was taken aback at first, then realized what he meant and chuckled, "Oh, you're overthinking it. I just saw that you haven't been getting enough sleep for the past six months and wanted to help you regulate your heart, liver, spleen, and lungs."

Upon hearing this, Li Peiyu gave Lu Yuzhi a coquettish glare, and then bit him hard on the shoulder.

"Hiss," Lu Yuzhi exclaimed deliberately, "Oh dear, this will surely produce a rabbit in the future."

“Having a rabbit is something you get, definitely not something I get,” Li Peiyu said angrily.

“I don’t bite people,” Lu Yuzhi retorted with a smile.

“You don’t bite, but you have a high reproductive rate,” Li Peiyu retorted without backing down.

"Okay, whatever you want, I'll take that as a compliment. As long as you don't imitate others." Lu Yuzhi said smugly, then steadily picked up Li Peiyu. "Time to take Mrs. Rabbit to dinner."

When they arrived at the restaurant, Grandpa Lu and Aunt Li were already sitting at the table waiting for them.

Aunt Li looked at the two sticky figures with a complicated expression, a mix of relief, helplessness, and a little dismay.

Seeing this, Li Peiyu quickly said, "Put me down."

Lu Yuzhi showed no intention of putting her down, and carried her straight to the dining table before carefully placing her on a chair.

Grandpa Lu chuckled and said, "Grandson, you're just as dashing as I was when I was young."

After a period of intensive treatment, Grandpa Lu has now remembered that Lu Yu is his grandson, not his son.

Aunt Li said with dissatisfaction, "That's just being promiscuous, how dare you even mention it."

Grandpa Lu couldn't tell the difference between good and bad words, and still said in his simple and honest manner, "Yu'er, Dad wants to eat fish."

"Tomorrow, I didn't have the cook prepare fish today," Aunt Li explained patiently.

"No, no, I want to eat fish." Old Master Lu whined like a child.

Aunt Li grew impatient. "Just eat this. We're poor; we can't afford fish."

Upon hearing this, Old Master Lu began to wipe away his tears.

"Alright, alright, let's eat fish." Aunt Li waved to the maid helplessly, "Tell the kitchen to make a fish."

Lu Yuzhi turned around and said, "Stir-fry another plate of carrots."

Aunt Li asked in confusion, "You want to eat carrots?"

Lu Yuzhi said unhurriedly, "Yes. Today our play theme is rabbits."

Li Peiyu's face turned even redder. She glared at Lu Yuzhi coquettishly and said, "You really have no manners. This is in front of Grandpa and Aunt."

Lu Yuzhi smiled nonchalantly and said, "What's there to be afraid of? They're not outsiders."

Li Peiyu bit her lower lip and turned to her aunt, saying, "Aunt, don't pay attention to him, he's talking nonsense."

Aunt Li, "What does 'Purei' mean?"

"Well, it's better if you don't know."

"I don't want to live with you guys. You keep saying nonsensical things without telling me anything."
