At that moment, Li Peiyu was engrossed in watching Guo Jiahe's live stream at the company when her phone suddenly rang. When she saw that the caller ID showed Lu Yu, her heart skipped a beat.
I wanted to reach out and take it, but remembering our agreement to part ways, my hand froze in mid-air, my heart filled with conflicting emotions...
The moment the call connected, Lu Yuzhi's soft voice rang out: "Where are you? I need to see you." His voice was filled with longing and urgency.
Li Peiyu paused for a moment, then said, "Didn't we agree to separate for a year...?"
Lu Yuzhi interrupted her, his voice low and weak: "I'm injured, badly injured."
Upon hearing this, Li Peiyu's tone instantly became tense: "Where are you injured? How serious is it?"
"Want to know?" Lu Yuzhi's lips curled up slightly, a hint of slyness in them. "Let me come find you. Be good, tell me where you are."
Li Peiyu hesitated for a moment, struggled internally, and, unsure where to meet, sent over her company's address.
Jinhua Building, three floors.
After leaving the Lu family's old residence, Lu Yuzhi's face was so gloomy it seemed like it could drip water. He strode into the car, his long legs carrying him, and slammed the door shut. He shared the address Li Peiyu had sent with the driver, Cheng Cheng, and said coldly, "Go here."
"Yes," Cheng Cheng replied, then started the car and drove off.
As the car sped along the road, Cheng Cheng couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Lu, are you looking for Miss Peiyu?"
"Don't ask too many questions," Lu Yuzhi said coldly.
"President Lu, just being injured isn't enough; it's still not enough," Cheng Cheng said mysteriously, glancing at Lu Yuzhi through the rearview mirror.
"Huh?" Lu Yuzhi looked puzzled.
Without saying a word, Cheng Cheng pulled the car over to the side of the road and quickly went into a roadside shop. He came out a while later, carrying a bottle of wine.
Cheng Cheng opened the back door of the car and said apologetically, "President Lu, I'm sorry." As he spoke, Cheng Cheng poured wine on Lu Yuzhi, and a strong smell of alcohol immediately filled the air.
"What?" Lu Yuzhi frowned and shouted angrily.
"He was injured, and he was out drinking late at night, so his hair is all messed up. That's the kind of broken beauty that comes out." Cheng Cheng said as he reached out and ruffled Lu Yuzhi's hair, messing up his originally neat hairstyle.
"Are you sick?" Lu Yuzhi glared at him angrily.
"President Lu, listen to me. With your pitiful state right now, Miss Peiyu will definitely let you do whatever you want," Cheng Cheng said confidently.
"You're wasting your talents being a driver," Lu Yuzhi said irritably.
"Hehe, Mr. Lu, remember to give me a raise," Cheng Cheng said with a grin, then closed the car door, returned to the driver's seat, and continued driving.
Upon arriving at the destination, Lu Yu took the elevator to the third floor. As soon as he stepped out of the stairwell, he saw a prominent sign for "Yu Xing Entertainment Company".
Lu Yuzhi's heart skipped a beat; the character "Yu" was the same as his name.
He knew that she had founded a company and named it after him.
However, when the huge, gold-plated character "玙" appeared before his eyes, he was still shocked and moved.
Lu Yuzhi walked forward and found a door slightly ajar.
Through the crack in the door, one could see Guo Jiahe slinging his bag over his shoulder, preparing to leave.
"Peiyu, are you sure you don't want to come back with me?" Guo Jiahe asked.
“I have something to do, you go back first,” Li Peiyu replied.
"Alright," Guo Jiahe replied helplessly.
As soon as Guo Jiahe pushed open the door, Lu Yuzhi's tall figure stood in the doorway.
"Uncle Lu, Uncle Lu." Guo Jiahe stammered instantly, his face full of surprise.
"Hmm." Lu Yuzhi responded lightly, but his gaze passed over Guo Jiahe and went straight to Li Peiyu inside the room.
Guo Jiahe immediately understood and quickly said, "You're busy, you're busy." Then he hurriedly left.
When Li Peiyu saw Lu Yuzhi, whom he hadn't seen in a long time, his cold face was filled with indifferent sorrow, the bandage on his hand was unusually conspicuous, and there was a strong smell of alcohol on his body, mixed with his original scent, which hit him in the face.
Looking at Lu Yuzhi like this, Li Peiyu felt a mix of emotions. Questions swirled in her mind: how could her noble Lu Yuzhi have become so destitute?
Li Peiyu felt as if her heart was being torn apart, and quickly walked towards Lu Yuzhi.
She grabbed Lu Yuzhi's hand, gently stroking his fingertips, and asked with a look of heartache, "What happened to your hand?"
Lu Yu felt the electric current emanating from Li Peiyu's fingertips, and his heart surged with excitement. More than a month had passed since they last met, and her face had appeared countless times in his mind; now she was right before him.
Lu Yuzhi withdrew his hand, unable to suppress his inner desire any longer. He grabbed Li Peiyu's leg and lifted her up with all his might. Due to the excessive force, blood slowly seeped from his injured hand, staining the white bandage red.
"Be careful with your hands, aren't they injured?" Li Peiyu exclaimed, her voice full of concern and reproach. "Put me down quickly."
Li Peiyu slid down gently, and Lu Yuzhi wrapped his left arm around her waist and pulled her closer.
Lu Yu looked down at Li Peiyu, his eyes filled with a hint of grievance and vulnerability, and said, "It hurts so much, comfort me."
Li Peiyu's cheeks flushed as she looked at Lu Yuzhi with eyes filled with pain and expectation.
Their eyes met, their gazes intense.
Li Peiyu could no longer contain her excitement and disregarded everything else. She tiptoed slightly and took the initiative to kiss him.
At that moment, the long-suppressed longing was released like a flood bursting its banks.
The lonely vigil in the long, dark night, the countless sleepless nights in my dreams, the subtle pain in my heart that I cannot express.
