Chapter 35

Under the blue sky, the Ferris wheel is turning slowly.

People were coming and going around, in the midst of the hustle and bustle, the man hugged the girl in his arms, as if he was hugging the whole world.

Chi Rui leaned in Ye Minghan's arms, listening to his pounding heartbeat and his slight breathing beside his ear, and couldn't help but secretly raise her hand.

She was about to hug his waist back, but at this moment, the man had already let her go.

She quickly put her hands down and put them behind her back.

“Why is your phone turned off?”

Ye Minghan lowered his head and stared at her closely, still looking fierce.

"I accidentally broke it..."

Chi Rui took her cell phone out of her bag and looked at him with her big eyes innocently.

There was a crack on the screen, running from top to bottom, with several fine cracks in the middle.

Chi Rui pressed the power button. The screen in his hand flashed a few times, then went black again and could no longer be turned on.

Ye Minghan pursed his lips and stopped talking.

"But..." Chi Rui looked at him and asked softly, "Brother Han, why are you here?"

There was a gentle light flowing in the girl's bright eyes, sparkling in the sun like sparkling lake water.

Ye Minghan paused, and his ears turned slightly red.

He turned away, his eyes flickering, and whispered, "I just called you and found that your phone was turned off..."

"So you were worried about me, so you came to me, right?"

Chi Rui slightly curved her eyes and looked at him with a smile.

Ye Minghan clenched his fists, turned his head away and said nothing.

This...is considered as the default.

Chi Rui grinned and laughed happily.

She felt warm and swelling in her heart, as if it was being illuminated by the sun.

"Brother Han." She called him softly.

"What...what are you doing?" Ye Minghan's tone was a little bad.

Chi Rui pointed to the distance and smiled at him with curved eyebrows, "Would you like to go play that with me?"

Ye Minghan looked in the direction her finger pointed.

The huge Ferris wheel was turning slowly in the blue sky, as if it would never change.

"Brother Han, are you okay?"

Chi Rui grabbed his sleeve and shook it gently, her voice was soft, sweet, as if coated with honey.

Ye Minghan felt a little soft in his heart.

Just looking at the huge Ferris wheel, he pursed his lips and asked, "Why do you want to play that?"

"There's no reason why."

Chi Rui tilted her head, "I just want to try it with you."

Ye Minghan frowned deeply, obviously a little conflicted, but in the end, he nodded in agreement.

"Just sit down once," he emphasized.

Chi Rui smiled sweetly and nodded vigorously, "Okay!"

Looking at her smile, Ye Minghan took a deep breath, held her wrist, and led her towards the entrance of the Ferris wheel.

The Ferris wheel is a popular attraction and there is already a long queue at the entrance.

Looking at the crowd of people in front of him, Ye Minghan frowned, let go of the girl's wrist, and wanted to find the staff to talk.

This place was originally owned by the Ye Group. It was a gift his father bought for him when he was a child. Over the past decade, it has been doing well and has developed many new projects.

Chi Rui didn't know this, and when she saw him let go of her wrist, she stretched out her little hand.

"Brother Han, let's go line up over there."

Then quietly... quietly... she took his fingers.

Ye Minghan blinked and looked down at her.

But Chi Rui avoided his sight, looking ahead with a blushing face. Just like he did before, she led him to the end of the team and then let go of his hand as if nothing had happened.

Ye Minghan looked at her loosened little hand, and somehow, he felt a little lost in his heart.

"There are so many people here, let's just wait."

After a while, Chi Rui finally calmed down, looked up and smiled at him.

His eyes fell on her face, Ye Minghan looked at her steadily, and finally nodded slightly.

The two people stood together, and although they didn't speak, there was an invisible atmosphere flowing between them.

It was a feeling that was hard to describe, but no one else could interfere with it.

They lined up together, and although the line moved very slowly, Chi Rui didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

Anyway, as long as two people can stay together, they will be very happy.

But soon, this atmosphere was broken...

Ye Minghan looked at Chi Rui and always felt something was wrong.

Finally, his gaze continued to move down and finally landed on the girl's right foot.

She was wearing a pair of beige sandals, revealing her round, white toes and slender, white arches.

The girl's feet are so beautiful that people want to hold them in their hands and play with them.

Ye Minghan's Adam's apple moved slightly, and he quickly gathered his thoughts, his eyes falling on her ankles.

The slight redness and swelling are particularly obvious on the fair skin.

Chi Rui had already noticed his gaze.

Even though she was wearing shoes, she felt uneasy and shy when he looked at her like that.

She blushed and shrank her toes shyly.

"What's wrong with your foot?" Ye Minghan asked her.

When she was walking just now, it was obvious that there was something wrong with her posture. Looking at the redness and swelling, what could he not guess?

His eyebrows were furrowed into a shape of a "川" (river).

Chi Rui stepped back and hid his sprained foot behind his back.

"No, nothing..."

Ye Ming glanced at her coldly, clearly disbelieving her.

Then he bent his knees slightly and half-knelt in front of the girl.

He suddenly knelt on one knee, which scared Chi Rui.

She tugged at her fingers nervously and stammered, "What...what are you going to do?"

Ye Minghan raised his eyes and glanced at her, "Didn't you say you were okay?"

Then, Chi Rui looked at him and reached out to hold her ankle.

His force was so light that it barely touched her skin.

The burning sensation seeped over from the man's slightly rough palm and landed on the slightly painful ankle, which surprisingly gave him a very comfortable feeling.

As soon as this thought came to mind, Chi Rui blushed.

"Are you really alright?"

She curled up her toes and tried to pull her feet out of his hands.

Ye Minghan could clearly feel that her ankle was swollen. Seeing that she was still being stubborn, he used a little force.

“Ouch, that hurts…”

Chi Rui screamed subconsciously, her face wrinkled and tears almost fell out.

Ye Minghan's heart moved. He originally just wanted to punish her, but he didn't expect that the little girl was about to cry in pain before he even used any strength.

This girl is still as afraid of pain as she was when she was a child...

He quickly let go of her hand and stood up. Seeing her red eyes, he couldn't help feeling a little helpless.

"Brother Han is bullying!"

Chi Rui pursed her lips, feeling the pain in her ankle, and glared at him with accusatory eyes.

But the little girl's voice was so soft that the accusation sounded more like she was acting coquettishly.

Ye Minghan felt a little numb at the tip of his heart, and he actually had the urge to continue "bullying" her until she cried...

He frowned and suppressed the strange feeling.

"Don't cry, I didn't mean it..."

"You obviously did it on purpose." Chi Rui pouted slightly.

Ye Minghan paused, obviously feeling guilty.

"I apologize to you." He had to lower his voice to coax her, "Let's go back and treat the wound first, okay?"

Chi Rui pursed her lips, pinched her fingers and looked away, "Don't...it's just a twist..."

"Chi Rui, be obedient."

Ye Minghan's voice suddenly became stern.

Chi Rui felt a little aggrieved, "But I want to ride the Ferris wheel... you just promised..."

During the time they were arguing, the team kept moving forward, and they would be approached by two or three more people.

Ye Minghan had no choice but to say, "We have to go back after we finish sitting here."

Hearing that he was willing to give in, Chi Rui became happy again, "Okay, I'll go back after I finish my ride!"

Looking at her smile, Ye Minghan couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

Seeing that he had been pursing his lips and had a dark face, Chi Rui thought for a moment and asked him, "Brother Han, are you thirsty? Do you want some milk tea?"

The milk tea that she bought before entering the amusement park was still in her hand.

She took it out of the plastic bag, inserted a straw, and put it to his mouth, "Red bean matcha, it's delicious."

Ye Minghan glanced at her coldly. Did this girl know that he was angry and so came to coax him?

Now Chi Rui is no longer afraid of his cold face.

She continued to hold up the milk tea, showing her cute little white teeth, "It's really delicious, Brother Han, try it."

"No." Ye Minghan turned his head and looked away, "It's too sweet."

Chi Rui wanted to continue, but at this time, the people in front of him had already boarded the Ferris wheel and it was their turn.

She had no choice but to put away the milk tea. As soon as she turned around and stepped onto the stairs, an arm appeared around her waist.

The man stuck to her side and hugged her tightly.

The staff looked at them and laughed. Chi Rui blushed and quickly got on the Ferris wheel.

Ye Minghan followed her in and sat opposite her.

He was nearly 1.9 meters tall, and the small compartment was a bit crowded for him. It felt like he had nowhere to put his long legs.

With a slight sound, the staff closed the door.

There were only two of them in the small, enclosed space.

“Thump, thump—”

Chi Rui felt his heart beating violently.

She looked out the window, her face hot and she didn't dare to look at the man opposite her.

So she didn't notice that after the Ferris wheel started to turn, the man's back suddenly stiffened and tiny beads of sweat seemed to be visible on his forehead.

Chi Rui looked at the scenery on the ground that was becoming smaller and smaller, and his attention was gradually attracted.

"I always feel like I've been here before," she said suddenly.

Ye Minghan was startled and looked up at her.

"Didn't we come here together when we were kids?" She finally turned around and met his gaze.

Looking at her bright watery eyes, Ye Minghan's eyes softened a little and he nodded slightly.

"Do you remember?"

Chi Rui's eyes dimmed, "It's just a vague impression..."

"Well, it's okay." Ye Minghan stretched out his hand and gently patted the top of her head.

That's... good enough.

Chi Rui lowered his eyelashes and decided not to continue this topic.

She looked out the window again. This time, they had risen to mid-air and could see very far away.

"Brother Han, look, is that our school?" Her eyes suddenly lit up and she pointed in a certain direction and said.

Ye Minghan froze, glanced quickly over there, then looked away, nodding randomly.

"Brother Han?" Chi Rui noticed that something was wrong with him.

Ye Minghan couldn't help but tense his face, then smiled softly, "Nothing, just a little thirsty."

Then, he took the milk tea from Chi Rui's hand, put it to his mouth and took a sip.

Chi Rui blinked and tilted his head to look at him.

Hey, didn’t Brother Han just say that it was too sweet and he didn’t want to drink it?
