Chapter 36

"Brother Han..."

Chi Rui called Ye Minghan and was about to say something to him when he suddenly felt a violent vibration coming from beneath his body.

She was so scared that her face turned pale. Just as she was about to hold onto the armrest of the chair, Ye Minghan had already put down his milk tea and reached out to hold her.

By the time she reacted, she was already tightly held in his arms.

Chi Rui closed his eyes and dared not move.

But soon, the shaking around stopped, and the Ferris wheel stopped in mid-air.

After a while, Chi Rui opened his eyes cautiously.

Not sensing any danger, she couldn't help but ask softly, "What happened?"

Ye Minghan pursed his lips, his face turned pale, but he endured it and whispered, "I'm not sure."

"Is the Ferris wheel out of order?"

After a while, there was no movement, as if it was completely suspended in mid-air. Chi Rui poked his head out of Ye Minghan's arms and looked out the window.

They stopped probably not far from the apex.

The scenery on the ground was shrunk countless times, and the crowd was like ants, and it was impossible to see anything clearly.

"Please don't panic, passengers. This failure was caused by a power outage. The amusement park has already started the backup engine and it will be back on track in a short while. Please stay calm and try not to get up and move around to avoid causing a safety accident."

"Dear passengers..."

There is a small loudspeaker installed above the door, and the sweet and moving voice of the announcer comes out of the loudspeaker.

So that’s how it is…

Chi Rui breathed a sigh of relief. He thought that if he just waited a little longer, he would be able to recover.

She wanted to sit back in her seat, feeling a little shy in this position.

But Ye Minghan held her but did not let go. Instead, he held his arms even tighter.

"It's okay, don't be afraid..."

He whispered softly in her ear, "I'm here..."

Chi Rui blinked. Is Brother Ye worried about her? But vaguely, she always felt that something was wrong.

The man stroked her hair gently, and his breath enveloped her, making her feel at ease.

Chi Rui curled up the corners of her lips, secretly raised her hand, and gently hugged him back...

A few minutes later, the Ferris wheel started again.

But even after the Ferris wheel resumed operation, Ye Minghan did not let her go.

Chi Rui was somewhat greedy for the warmth he gave her, but she was keenly aware that something was wrong in her heart.

What happened to Brother Ye?

With his awkward personality, even if he protected her in a hurry, he wouldn't have held her for so long...

She stayed in his arms and when she raised her eyes, she could only see his chin and...his slightly rolling Adam's apple.

Chi Rui looked at the man's protruding Adam's apple, touched his own first, then curiously stretched out his index finger and touched him lightly.

Ye Minghan's whole body stiffened, and he felt a shiver spreading throughout his body.

"What are you doing?"

With a gloomy face, he grabbed her rebellious little hand.

"I'm just curious." Chi Rui tilted her head and looked at him, "Brother Han, you look so pale, are you sick?"

As she spoke, she reached out her other hand and touched his forehead.

"No, I'm not sick."

Ye Minghan was a little flustered. He quickly grabbed her hand and pressed her head against his chest again.

"We'll be on the ground soon, don't move, be quiet."

He tried his best to control his voice, but Chi Rui still heard a slight tremor.

Could it be that...

Soon, the Ferris wheel turned a circle and they stopped smoothly at the entrance.

It was also at this time that Ye Minghan let go of his hand and let Chi Rui sit back opposite him.

The staff opened the door, looked at them and said, "Dear guests, we are very sorry to have frightened you..."

Ye Minghan ignored him and walked out with a cold face.

The staff member scratched his head and smiled apologetically at Chi Rui, "I'm really sorry!"

Chi Rui smiled at him lightly and said softly, "No, I think it's quite fun and a good experience."

Perhaps because he had been scolded badly by the person in front of him, when the staff member heard her comfort, there was some gratitude in his eyes and his smile became more sincere.

"Chi Rui."

Ye Minghan stood on the ground, the weak state he had just been in was gone. He looked back at her and glanced at the boy beside her with cold eyes.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Chi Rui walked out, and the young man wanted to help her, but was intercepted by Ye Minghan.

Ye Minghan held Chi Rui's hand, put his other hand around her waist, and hugged her down the stairs.

"Can you still walk?" He looked down at her ankles.

"It should be okay if you walk slower."

Ye Minghan frowned, took off his windbreaker and put it on her shoulders.

The long windbreaker, which reached about mid-thigh on him, went straight to the girl's ankles.

The large men's windbreaker makes her figure look even smaller, delicate and soft, making people want to hold her in their hands and take good care of her.

Chi Rui looked at him in confusion. She had a foot injury, not a cold...

Then she saw the man squatting with his back to her.

"Come up," he whispered.

Chi Rui hesitated, "But..."

"hurry up!"

Chi Rui looked at him and had no choice but to bend down and hug his neck with a blushing face. Then, she pressed her whole body against his back, and he lifted her thighs and carried her on his back.

His windbreaker completely covered her back, so even if her skirt was lifted up, there was no need to worry about exposing herself.

She leaned on his shoulder, feeling the tight muscles under his clothes, and couldn't help blushing and her heart beating fast.

After Ye Minghan carried her on his back, he strode towards the gate of the amusement park.

In the distance, Wen Shao, who had finally found the people, looked at their departing backs from afar, scratched his hair, and stopped where he was without chasing after them...

"Brother Han..." Chi Rui leaned on his shoulder and spoke in his ear.

The breath she exhaled blew gently on his earlobe, making Ye Minghan feel a little itchy, and his ears turned slightly red.

Chi Rui blinked, as if he had discovered something interesting.

Ye Minghan tried to keep a straight face and whispered, "What's the matter?"

The little girl smiled softly, then leaned close to his ear and asked in a low voice, "Brother Han, are you afraid of heights?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she clearly felt the stiffness in his back.

“Nonsense!”

A trace of panic flashed across Ye Minghan's brows, but he still tried his best to remain calm and denied it.

"Really?" Chi Rui rested her chin on his shoulder and tilted her head.

Ye Minghan naturally couldn't admit it.

"Of course." He said firmly.

"How about we go play on the glass plank road next time? I heard it's exciting and fun~"

Ye Minghan: “…”

Chi Rui was sent to the hospital by Ye Minghan, where he had his sprained ankle treated briefly. He then went to the store to buy a new mobile phone and then took his car back to the Ye family.

Seeing that she had just gone out for a while and was injured again, Butler Chen stayed by her side with concern. After sending her back to her room, he quickly ordered the kitchen to prepare some supplements for her to recuperate.

The housekeeper left in a hurry, and Young Master Ye, for some embarrassing reason, also left her room with a stern face.

Chi Rui watched him disappear at the door and couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh.

After a while, she took out her newly bought mobile phone and set it up again.

I just logged into WeChat again and received a WeChat message from Chen Yuyou.

Chen Yuyou: [Xiao Rui, are you okay? ]

Thinking that she had other intentions in asking her out today, Chi Rui frowned.

She really wanted to make friends with Chen Yuyou, but she didn't seem to think that way.

After hesitating for a moment, Chi Rui called up the input method, edited a message and sent it to her.

Chi Rui: [I'm fine, I've already gone home.]

Chi Rui: [Let’s find some time to chat after school starts.] After a while, the phone rang.

Chen Yuyou: [Okay.]

Chi Rui didn't think about it anymore.

She fiddled with the settings of her phone, then lingered over to her desk, gathered her thoughts, and started doing her homework for the National Day holiday.

After an unknown amount of time, her door was knocked again and Butler Chen walked in with a bowl of tonic soup.

"Miss Rui, take a rest first. I made some soup for you." Butler Chen greeted her. "This soup is very nutritious and good for recovery."

Chi Rui walked over and gave him a grateful smile, "Okay, thank you Uncle Chen."

Butler Chen scooped a bowl for her and stood by watching her drink.

Chi Rui drank the tonic soup, thought for a moment, looked up at him, and asked seriously: "Uncle Chen, you said before that Brother Han went through some things when he was a child..."

I didn't expect her to ask this. Butler Chen's expression paused, but he still nodded with a slightly dim look in his eyes.

"Yes, I do."

Chi Rui pursed her lips and asked carefully, "Then...can you tell me what it is?"
