Chapter 25 Why aren't you wearing clothes?! ...

The summer heat was intense, and the shelter was bustling with activity.

Su Cheng took less than two hours to retake official photos of all the kittens waiting to be adopted.

Jiang Muzhou originally wanted to help, but Su Cheng firmly refused.

On the one hand, he had an injury that required rest, and on the other hand, Su Cheng also had her own principles.

Since she had already leveraged the popularity of "Muzhou" for publicity, she wanted to complete the filming work independently.

She wanted to strike while the iron was hot and release her first video tonight.

So Jiang Muzhou took the initiative to produce the opening sequence as a condition for staying home to recuperate.

After he repeatedly assured her that it wouldn't aggravate the wound, Su Cheng finally relented.

She packed up the photos and sent them to Jiang Muzhou, along with an emoji of an orange cat bowing while holding an empty cat bowl, captioned "I'm counting on you for my promotion."

Wu Xin and Wendy knew the personality traits of each kitten like the back of their hand. They expanded on the information on the KT board at the offline adoption event and used software to visualize it, creating a clear and intuitive personality radar chart for the kittens.

The biggest headache right now is, which kitten should we choose as the main character for the first video?

The three people sat around the desk and began brainstorming.

Wu Xin raised her hand and suggested, "We must choose the one with the best looks!"

As a top-tier beauty enthusiast and a seasoned fangirl, Wu Xin knows the secret that "a pretty child standing in the middle makes the whole group look prettier." This is the first video, so of course, the most eye-catching kitten should be the star of the show.

Su Cheng and Wendy both thought she made sense.

However, the three people quickly disagreed, since human and cat aesthetic standards are different. Whether something is good-looking or not does not simply depend on the amount of fur color, but is subject to strong subjective emotional preferences.

Wu Xin picked the silver gradient "Square Head" and praised it for looking like a soft and glutinous little rice ball. Its light green eyes and pink little nose are simply too cute to resist.

Su Cheng strongly recommended the calico cat "Huajuan," a short-haired cat with a round head and a three-headed body. When it curls up, it looks just like a freshly baked mochi ball from a dessert shop.

Wendy chose the lion cat "Bite," a long-haired cat with a pure white coat and charming heterochromatic eyes, one blue and one green, like two jewels set in the snow.

After failing to reach a conclusion, the three decided to launch a limited-time vote in the volunteer group to let everyone help their favorite kitten debut.

While waiting for the voting results, Su Cheng quickly set up the venue, built a stage for filming, and displayed refrigerator magnets, badges, and other merchandise that the rescue station had previously made.

Voting is in full swing, and message notifications keep ringing.

To Su Cheng's even greater surprise, upon learning the good news of Decepticons' unexpected popularity, the senior student who had previously designed the merchandise stayed up all night to draw two adorable cartoon versions of it.

One version is the majestic "Devastator," with sharp eyes and incredibly handsome muscle lines.

The other version is the adorable and clingy Decepticon, with big round eyes and pink little paw pads that make you want to hug him at first glance.

"Wow, senior is amazing!" Su Cheng zoomed in on the two line drawings on the screen to compare them carefully and couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

The first image retains the Decepticons' signature sharp look, while the second image, with almost the same silhouette, transforms the entire aura from intimidating to approachable by simply softening the gaze and slightly enlarging the pupils, exuding a sense of gentleness.

Su Cheng had a sudden inspiration: this design would be perfect for making temperature-sensitive color-changing cards. Initially, the cards would maintain a cool and aloof image, but upon encountering warmth, they would gradually reveal a cute and dependent side.

Wu Xin immediately understood. When she was supporting her idol, she had ordered temperature-sensitive cards to distribute as free materials.

She pulled out the contact list of several printing companies she had worked with and asked them one by one for their latest quotes.

The voting results came out quickly, with Fang Naoke winning first place by a narrow margin.

Wu Xin said smugly, "How about that? My eye for choosing storefronts is as sharp as ever!"

Su Cheng recalled that Square Head and Flower Roll had made brief appearances in the Decepticon documentary.

Making Fangnaoke the protagonist of the first video can be considered a collaboration with Decepticons, since almost all of her fans started following her because of Decepticons.

"By the way, Sister Wen, where did you put that banner from last time?"

While setting up the venue, Su Cheng suddenly remembered this matter.

Four months ago, they were asked by a young woman to help them rescue two newborn kittens from a ventilation shaft in her apartment complex. The woman decided to adopt them immediately, but unfortunately, both kittens contracted FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Thanks to the meticulous treatment provided by Wendy's medical team, the kittens eventually recovered and were discharged from the hospital.

Out of gratitude, the young lady also presented a banner in the name of the kitten.

Upon hearing this, Wendy took down the red silk banner hanging on the cat food cabinet.

You taught me cat virtues, and saved my cat's life.

-

At dusk.

After a long afternoon of filming, Su Cheng, carrying millet porridge she had brought back from the porridge shop downstairs, knocked on Jiang Muzhou's door.

Jiang Muzhou was incredibly efficient; he sent over the completed intro in less than half an hour after receiving the photos.

In the center of the picture is an adorable gashapon machine, with each gashapon containing a fluffy little cat. As you turn the knob, the cat gashapon rolls out with a gurgling sound.

He also specially designed a mask so that she could change the cat avatar for each issue.

She couldn't hold him back; she had to hurry and finish editing and releasing the final cut before prime time.

But after waiting for a while, no one came to open the door.

She guessed that Jiang Muzhou might be asleep, so she entered the password, gently pushed open the door, and tiptoed to place the hot porridge on the dining table.

She was in a hurry to finish her work and had just turned to leave when she bumped into Jiang Muzhou, who was shirtless and only wrapped in a bath towel.

A man emerged from the bathroom, his hair damp and fringe hanging over his forehead. Water droplets slid down his neck, meandering down his muscular chest, past his well-defined abs, and finally disappearing into the depths covered by a towel.

My heart skipped a beat.

Su Cheng belatedly covered her eyes with her hands, her whole body tense like a guard in front of Buckingham Palace, not daring to move.

She pressed her palm against her cheek, and the burning sensation made her instinctively recoil. Only then did she realize how badly her face burned.

Her hands, which blocked her vision, also cut off some of the air, causing her breathing to become rapid and she was almost suffocating.

After a long pause, she stammered out a sentence: "You, why aren't you wearing any clothes?"

Jiang Muzhou let out a muffled laugh, but did not reply.

Su Cheng quietly parted her fingers a crack, slightly raising her chin to direct her gaze as far as possible to a safe area.

Through her fingers, she glimpsed that the man had a piece of gauze in his mouth, the other end of which was loosely wrapped around his injured wrist and looked about to fall off.

She blinked, her long eyelashes brushing against her fingertips, sending a strange tingling sensation through her.

Jiang Muzhou's eyelids twitched slightly, and a blush of red appeared in his deep eyes.

A blush flickered in her eyes, drawing ever closer.

Her slender, fair fingers gently pinched the loose gauze between his teeth.

The taut lip line loosened slightly, only to touch an unexpected burning sensation the next moment.

The scent of verbena wafted from his lips and quietly entered his nostrils.

It's her usual hand cream.

Like lemon leaves washed by a summer night's downpour, mixed with a few broken herbaceous roots, fresh and vibrant.

Su Cheng's fingers paused slightly.

Even though she had already mentally rehearsed it, her breath still caught in her throat when that hideous wound came into view again.

Rough stitches crisscrossed on his wheat-colored arm, the reddish-brown needles like a hungry centipede, tightly coiled on the skin, greedily sucking up the blood droplets mixed with ointment.

Su Cheng cut the piece of gauze with the bite mark shorter. "This needs to be sterile."

She lifted his hand, her fingertips brushing against the calluses on his palm.

The gauze was wrapped in a loop around his wrist and finally tied into a delicate bow, pulsating with his heartbeat.

He looked down at her, his hair falling down to cover his profile, but it couldn't hide his ears, which were as thin as cicada wings.

From the tips of her ears to her earlobes, they were tinged with a translucent red, like two cherries soaking in the morning dew.

"Don't push yourself." Su Cheng rolled up the remaining gauze and put it in his palm. "I'll help you change the dressing when I get back tomorrow."

Su Cheng lowered her eyes and met his well-defined waist and abdomen.

Because they were standing so close, her incredibly sensual V-line was clearly visible, and her skin, glistening with water droplets, rose and fell slightly with her breath, creating a wet and alluring feeling.

Her mouth went dry without her noticing, and she murmured softly, "But you have to remember to wear your clothes properly."

Jiang Muzhou smiled and turned to go to the bedroom to get his clothes.

As they brushed past each other, Su Cheng suddenly froze.

The shocking scars on his back came into view without warning.

Several parallel abrasion marks ran across the shoulder blade, surrounded by large patches of bruises, ranging from deep purple to bluish-yellow in layers. The most severe areas had turned an unnatural purplish-black, and traces of subcutaneous bleeding were clearly visible.

Those shy and hesitant feelings vanished instantly, replaced by heart-wrenching tenderness and unspoken guilt.

"Did the doctor prescribe any medicine for these injuries on your back?" She reached out to touch them, but stopped mid-air.

Jiang Muzhou paused, then gave an ambiguous answer: "There is medicine."

His gaze was fixed squarely on Su Cheng.

The medicine is right here.

Su Cheng's gaze was intense. "Then I'll help you apply the medicine."

Jiang Muzhou dawdled for a long time before finally finding the ointment in the bedroom.

He sat down with his back to Su Cheng, a sharp arc forming on the back of his neck.

"You were injured like this, why didn't you tell me yesterday?" Su Cheng's voice was very soft, and she became less and less confident as she spoke.

A good person like Jiang Muzhou would rather endure the pain himself than let her worry even a little bit.

If she hadn't discovered it today, he probably would have kept it a secret forever, as if these scars had never existed.

She squeezed the ointment into her palm, gently rubbing it with her warm fingertips. Only after the cool ointment gradually melted did she dare to place her soft fingertips on his back and gently apply it along the edges of the bruises.

The movements were extremely light and slow, as if afraid that using even a little more force would hurt him.

But for Jiang Muzhou, Su Cheng's cautiousness only made things harder for him.

Warm breath brushed against his back, sending a slight shiver down his spine.

Jiang Muzhou felt his back muscles tense up instantly, and he even clenched his teeth involuntarily.

"Does it hurt?" Seeing the bulging veins on his neck, Su Cheng hurriedly withdrew her hand. "I...I'll be gentler."

Jiang Muzhou rubbed his ear, his tone relaxed, "It's just a scratch, it's almost healed."

Su Cheng lowered her head, feeling her heart pounding loudly in her chest. "Don't get hurt again in the future."

Don't be so nice to her anymore.

She was afraid she would get used to this gentleness.

I'm even more afraid that I'll become greedy and want more.
