Chapter 47 Getting Weapons

An instructor covered his ears and stomped the ground again. The scarred recruit, with his hands still in his pockets, quickly jumped backward to dodge.

The moment he dodged, an explosion occurred where he had been standing.

The scarred recruit scoffed, "Tch!"

As the distance between the scarred recruit and the instructor increased, the piercing noise in his ears finally disappeared.

The instructor was quick-witted and nimble; with a sudden swing in the air, a series of explosions rang out, heading straight for the scarred recruit.

The scarred recruit was equally defiant, pulling his hand out of his pocket and forcefully opening it forward.

A sound wave burst forth from his hand, colliding with and canceling out the explosion in the air.

"This new recruit's name is Yan Wusheng, and his special ability is [Ten Thousand Sounds], which is one of only two powerful special abilities among this year's recruits."

"But he seems like a troublemaker." Chief Instructor Li Hu rubbed his ears and looked at Yan Wusheng, who was exchanging blows with another instructor, and said coldly.

“【Wanyin】…” The instructor standing at the very edge, carrying two swords on his back, lowered his head and muttered to himself, then silently drew the sword from his waist.

Yan Wusheng stepped back, dodging the explosion on the ground once again, and then unleashed another sonic wave with a single hand.

But at that moment, he keenly sensed a cold light rapidly approaching him.

He swiftly turned his body, and a straight knife barely grazed his clothes as he dodged it.

“Missing…” The instructor holding the straight knife had a somber look in his eyes. Then, with a thought, he changed the direction of the flying straight knife and thrust it at Yan Wusheng again.

Yan Wusheng dodged again, but then a series of explosions came at him, magnifying in his angry pupils.

"Damn it!" he cursed and fired another sonic wave to cancel it out, then ran backward at top speed.

Seeing him run away, the instructor, who had been beaten and was in a bad mood, chased after him without thinking twice.

"Huh? You're just going to let him go after him like that?" Chuan Cheng couldn't help but ask, seeing that Li Hu showed no intention of stopping him.

Li Huzi then kicked him in the butt again, saying, "Do you think Hong Wei is brainless? He just wants to reduce the pressure on the other recruits."

There aren't many good ones this year, you know that.

Chuan Cheng scratched his head, thinking about it, and realized it made sense.

"Alright! All instructors, move out!" Deputy Chief Instructor Li's voice was as loud and clear as a bell.

"Yes!" the other instructors replied in loud voices.

...

Coco followed Hera, panting, feeling a chill run down her spine as she listened to the continuous explosions and piercing sonic waves behind her.

His gaze toward Hera became even more adoring.

"H-Hera, you're amazing! If I hadn't run with you, I think I would have been eliminated."

"Yes, yes." Hera nodded.

"Sister Hera, so are we going to wait until the instructors are exhausted before figuring out how to fight them?"

"Uh-huh."

Coco looked at Hera as if she were a goddess, and at that moment she secretly vowed in her heart that she would stick with Hera for the rest of the year.

As the sounds behind her grew fainter, Coco couldn't help but turn around for a glance, but she couldn't see anything, since she had already run quite far.

"Speaking of which, who is it that can fight the instructor? Even if the instructor's cultivation level is suppressed, he is still a whole cultivation level higher than us," Coco muttered to herself.

Hera, however, continued running without uttering a sound.

Seeing that Hera ignored her, Coco scratched her face awkwardly, then asked Hera as if she had thought of something.

"Hera, what are we going to do now?"

Hera, who had run ahead, recalled the strategy guide that Xinglan had given her before.

"Next, we need to go to the armory to get weapons."

"Oh, I see. I don't really need weapons. I have my special abilities, after all, I don't know how to use other weapons." Coco continued to awkwardly chat with Hera.

Hera nodded, then stopped at the gate of the armory.

Coco stopped, put her hands on her knees and gasped for breath, then looked up at the door of the machine warehouse.

"Huh? Why is this door locked? How are we going to get our weapons?"

Coco stood up straight, walked to the door, and tentatively pushed it.

It remained completely still.

"What should I do, Sister Hera..." Coco raised her eyebrows slightly as she looked at Hera, her body trembling slightly, afraid that Hera would say she was useless.

Hera walked straight over, placed her hand on the iron gate, and looked at it.

Coco wisely stepped aside to avoid disturbing Hera.

Just as Xinglan had said, the iron gate appeared to be unlocked, and it couldn't be opened by breaking the lock.

But...

Hera had heard the strategy guide, so she naturally knew how to open the door.

Hera explored for a while longer before finally finding a good spot. She slowly backed away, raising her long, slender legs.

He kicked the door hard.

The sturdy metal door was instantly dented, and at the same time, the sound of metal breaking came from there.

Hera withdrew her foot and gently pushed with both hands, easily opening the previously locked door.

Coco stared blankly at everything, her mouth slightly opening and closing as if she wanted to say something, but she couldn't utter a word. Only her wide black eyes showed her shock.

Hera glanced at Coco, then walked into the armory and began taking out weapons.

After a moment of stunned silence, Coco finally reacted and quickly went inside to get the weapons with Hera.

The armory contained a vast and comprehensive array of weapons.

It has a variety of cold weapons such as straight swords, spears, and katanas, as well as a variety of firearms such as pistols, submachine guns, and rocket launchers.

Coco looked at the dazzling array of weapons and was at a loss for what to do. She wanted to take something but didn't know what to take.

Compared to Coco, who was constantly struggling with her decision, Hera was much more decisive and immediately took the only straight sword she knew how to use.

Seeing Hera take her weapon, Coco hastily grabbed a small dagger and held it in her hand.

Hera gripped her straight sword, then glanced at Coco, who had already chosen her weapon, and continued to think about her next move.

Seeing Hera standing there in a daze, Coco seemed a little lost. Just as she was about to say something, she caught a glimpse of other people walking in through the door.

The person who came was a girl who was even shorter than Coco, and she looked to be only about 1.6 meters tall.

Surprisingly, her right arm was completely empty, with nothing on it except for a knotted sleeve dangling in the air.

Coco covered her mouth in surprise, somewhat unable to believe that someone with a missing arm would still come to participate in recruit training camp.

The one-armed girl completely ignored Coco's horrified gaze, walked straight to the weapon rack, and drew a straight knife with her remaining left hand.

Then he walked out without looking back.

From the moment she entered until she left, she didn't glance at Hera and Coco even once.
