Chapter 163 Mangshen Mountain Range (3)

Chapter 163 Mangshen Mountain Range (3)

“Uncle,” Ji Rong said blankly, “we don’t know how we got trapped.”

I didn't hear the insect monster's last words, Uncle. I want to sleep a little longer. Go see that insect monster; maybe then I'll know how to get out.

Shan Wu had no objections, but Ji Rong couldn't sleep because she had something on her mind. So, she took out a storage ring filled with spirit crystals and said to Shan Wu, "Uncle, come and learn. What else do you want to learn? I'll teach you."

"Whatever, my dear nephew, even if you give it to me, I might not understand it."

Ji Rong thought to herself, with Shan Wu's brains, it's really possible that this kind of thing could happen again.

Since she couldn't learn it by using her brain, she decided to use her claws instead. So, she randomly picked a puppetry technique and a weaving technique and imprinted them into Shan Wu's brain.

After finishing the branding, Ji Rong was exhausted and fell asleep. This time, she slept soundly and only realized upon waking that she hadn't dreamed of the monster.

"This won't do!" Ji Rong thought carefully about the scene before she had the dream and said to Shan Wu, "Uncle, we must be in the wrong place. Let's go a little further and wait for those poisonous beasts to surround us before I go to sleep."

Shan Wu obediently carried Ji Rong forward, but this time, they walked for a long time and returned to the stone tablet. They did not see the poisonous beasts again, but Shan Shui woke up again.

Hearing a commotion on Ji Rong's back, Shan Wu immediately stopped. He put Ji Rong down, then stood up on his own two feet, forming a hand seal with his claws to create an isolation barrier.

Ji Rong opened the leaf and heard Shan Shui's weak voice ask, "Where is this?"

Ji Rong quickly replied, "We're in the Mangshen Mountains. Are you feeling better?"

Shan Shui turned his head with difficulty, his white eyes peering through the gaps in the leaves, and said, "The divine will that remains here has awakened me. It is constantly wailing on this land. I must go and hear its plea. Brother, you go forward."

Shan Wu immediately obeyed and knelt down at Ji Rong's feet, saying to Ji Rong, "Nephew, come up quickly, let's go."

Ji Rong disagreed with Shan Shui's actions, but when she thought that Shan Shui Shen Jun had always acted this way, she swallowed her words.

As Shan Wu walked forward, he noticed the faint silhouettes of poisonous beasts in the bushes ahead. The further Shan Wu went, the more poisonous beasts appeared, all of them opening their mouths wide and howling at him.

"Brother, is there any food? They're starving. Give them something to eat." Shan Shui struggled to lift his head, glanced at the beasts, and then said to Shan Wu.

Shan Wu immediately took out his huge storage ring and rolled the low-grade spiritual fruits that Ji Rong had given him one by one with his claws. As he rolled the fruits, he shouted, "You can only eat one. We don't have any more."

But as soon as the fruit hit the ground, the group of venomous beasts began to scramble for it.

Hearing the fierce roars of the beasts as they fought over the fruit, Shan Shui laboriously raised his withered head and said, "Give me more."

Even Ji Rong couldn't hold back anymore. She turned to look at the mountains and water and said, "Don't look up, we'll feed them right away."

She took out five old storage bags and handed them to Shan Wudao: "Uncle, make several piles of them and let them eat their fill."

Give me another good bottle; I want to feed Him some.

Shan Wuyi handed a bottle of jade dew to Ji Rong. Ji Rong opened the cap and said to Shan Shui, "It's rare that you're awake. Open your mouth and I'll feed you. This stuff will be more effective if you drink it."

Shan Shui opened his mouth as instructed, and Ji Rong slowly poured the bottle of jade dew into it. After pouring one bottle, she turned to Shan Wudao and said, "Uncle, give me two more bottles."

After slowly pouring the two new bottles of Jade Dew into Shan Shui's mouth, Ji Rong tried to ask Shan Wu for more, but Shan Shui shook his head slightly and said, "That's enough."

Ji Rong examined Shan Shui for a few moments. She felt that Shan Shui's skin seemed less dry after drinking the jade dew, so she nodded and stopped giving Shan Shui the jade dew.

Through the gaps in the leaves, Shan Shui watched as the nearly one hundred beasts outside slowed down their scramble for food.

When the last spiritual fruit was slowly held in the paws of an armored red hare and devoured, Shan Shui said in divine language, "Children of Mangshen Mountain, take me to find Him."

Upon hearing this, the beasts all stared blankly at them, then let out sharp hooting sounds. They all walked in one direction, stopping every now and then to glance back at Shan Wuyi. Only when they saw that the beasts had followed them did they continue on their way.

Ji Rong observed the beasts' movements and noticed that they always stopped beside the monument. "Could it be that I moved the monument and that's why I'm trapped here?" Ji Rong wondered to herself, increasingly convinced that her impulsive actions were to blame.

The beasts led Shan Wu to a desolate place with no giant trees and a relatively open view. Ji Rong looked around. Although the place was overgrown with weeds, she felt for no reason that the air was filled with a strong sense of tragedy and desolation.

"What do you want?" Shan Shui asked, his gray eyes looking sadly at the sky.

This sound startled Ji Rong, who looked up sharply and saw countless golden lights rising from the grass of the wasteland. The beasts that had brought them here roared in unison, and then they all merged together to form the shape of a giant. Then, it opened its mouth and said, "Free me."

"How can you find liberation?" Shan Shui asked again.

"Take me away, let me separate from it."

Who is it?

"The power of the sorcerer god, I have collected it all, yet I am imprisoned by it, unable to escape. I have caused the deaths of everyone, sob sob sob, I am unworthy..."

A clay bowl made of fragments was vomited out of the monster's mouth. Hundreds of illusory figures were entangled on the bowl, one on each of the fragments.

Some of them were in pain, some were joyful, and some were entangled in the fragments as if asleep...

The mountains and rivers remained silent for a long time, and then, sadly, said, "I can no longer help you now." As soon as the mountains and rivers said this, their white pupils shattered, and their bodies once again crumbled like clay, about to collapse into another layer.

"No, you can! You can!" Ji Rong excitedly pointed at the bowl with her wing claws and shouted, "Command me! As long as you tell Ji Rong to go, I will go and help it."

With great effort, Shan Shui turned his head slightly, looked at Ji Rong, and laughed while pulling at his bones, "Yes, I forgot. Young friend Ji Rong, go and help it get rid of its burden."

"Alright! Uncle, quickly protect me!" Ji Rong immediately took out four storage rings. She grasped a small storage ring filled with spirit crystals in one claw and poured them all out.

Then, she transformed into a tree trunk, planting her roots in the pile of spirit crystals. First, she used her roots to bind the mountains and water, then she unfurled her golden leaves. The illusory figures that had been moving independently on the bowl suddenly seemed to grow necks, all stretching towards Ji Rong. Ji Rong's roots reached out one by one, encircling them one by one.

Images entered Ji Rong's mind through the roots and manifested. Ji Rong saw the birth, growth, cultivation of poison, and domination of the world of a witch infant. He used himself as a vessel to collect the shattered power, and then destroyed himself.
