Chapter 9: No Talk, Just Action
The Huo family had many branches, but when it came to Huo Chen's lineage, because his parents died early, the family was scattered and there were not many people left.
Therefore, Huo Chen was always bullied by his brothers and sisters of the same clan.
The most outrageous incident was when the Huo family was offering sacrifices to their ancestors at the ancestral temple. He was tricked into a dry well and pushed into it.
He was covered in wounds from the fall, feeling both pain and fear. He sat in a deep, dry well, crying until his voice became hoarse.
In the end, Huo Gannian who was passing by saved him.
Huo Gannian threw down a rope and said in the calmest tone:
"Which is faster, climbing up or crying yourself to death and being reborn? It's your choice."
Huo Chen was thus conquered by his domineering cousin who was about to become the young master. He resolutely cut off contact with his family, practiced swordsmanship hard, changed his name to "Hua Jue", and became a personal guard beside Huo Gannian.
After all, Hua Jue is a member of the Huo family and a distant cousin that Huo Gannian has never met in his entire life.
Therefore, the guards were somewhat tolerant and wary of Hua Jue and never argued with him.
Seeing Hua Jue's harsh words, Ye Yan couldn't refute him and could only try to smooth things over:
"As they say, a sword mates a hero. Young Master's sword is naturally a peerless sword. Thank you, Brother Yun, for taking care of it."
Hua Jue held his sword with one hand, leaning back slightly like a scallion, and looked at Yun Chen's uniform with disdain, sneering:
"So you're just a 'Xing' guard. Are you worthy enough to touch the young master's sword?"
Ye Yan was almost embarrassed for others.
He looked at Yun Chen nervously, but saw that the latter was neither annoyed nor angry. Instead, he nodded in agreement.
"You are right, I am not worthy. But I have no money now. How about you lend me some? I will hurry up and build a temple and offer the sword immediately."
Hua Jue was choked and stunned.
He didn't know that Yun Chen was a straightforward person who said what he thought, and thought she was being sarcastic.
His face changed, and he was about to explode when Runhe came running over and shouted:
"Guard Ye, Guard Hua, the young master is calling you from the study."
Yun Chen was on duty today in the central hall, very close to the study. Huo Gannian probably heard some of the argument between the three of them just now.
Hua Jue snorted coldly, glared at Yun Chen with disdain, and turned to walk towards the study.
Ye Yan sighed secretly and patted Yun Chen's shoulder more sympathetically.
Yun Chen didn't care what the two of them were thinking or what they were angry about. She was just deeply trapped in a dilemma:
Where can I borrow money to build a temple?
Half a day later, when Ye Yan and Hua Jue came out of the study again, there was a hint of suspicion in Hua Jue's expression when he looked at Yun Chen, but it was mainly contempt.
Ye Yan showed joy on his face, pulled Yun Chen aside and said:
"We're going to Qingyuzhou for a banquet in a few days. The young master asked you to go with us, so you must perform well!"
Ye Yan hopes that Yun Chen can seize this opportunity, gain Huo Gannian's favor, and avoid being killed.
Hua Jue sneered from the side: "Let this kid team up with me, I want to see how capable he is!"
Yun Chen didn't hear what Hua Jue said at all. She was worried about something small in her mind and said to Ye Yan:
"Since I'm going out on a guard duty, can I go do some personal business today?"
Ye Yan said, "Okay, no need to go to the duty room to sign in, just go directly."
"Thank you." Yun Chen said and turned to leave.
On the side, Hua Jue, who was completely ignored, cursed angrily:
"Going out as a guard is so dangerous. I think you're scared to death. Prepare to run away!"
However, Yun Chen just turned around and smiled, not caring.
Hua Jue punched the cotton and became even angrier.
Feeling unwilling and worried that Yun Chen would escape, Hua Jue quietly followed Yun Chen.
Yun Chen first went to the main room to look for something, stuffed something into his waist, and then placed the Hidden Moon Sword on the bed.
After taking two steps out, she turned back, stuffed the sword under the pillow, carefully covered it with the quilt, and left again.
Seeing her worried look, Hua Jue sneered, and felt even more contemptuous in his heart:
That is the Hidden Moon Sword that Huo Gannian has kept close to him for many years. Who would dare to steal it or touch it?
No matter how much he cursed, he couldn't stop. Hua Jue followed Yun Chen out of the house and headed straight to the east of the city. After walking for half an hour with his tail on fire, he stopped at the entrance of Hongfang Alley, the most famous kiln alley in Yancheng.
Yun Chen found the largest room and went to look for her "old lover" Dan Kou.
After knocking on the door, a guest who was about to leave came to answer the door and said that Dankou was still getting dressed.
Yun Chen felt it inconvenient to disturb the guest, so he took the thing out of his waist and asked the guest to pass it to Dan Kou.
Hua Jue hid at the entrance of the alley and watched all this.
He didn't see clearly, but vaguely saw Yun Chen handing a soft, bright red and green belt or something to a man.
He was stunned for a moment, then his mind conjured up dozens of disgusting images, and he gnashed his teeth:
"You filthy damn thing, how dare you serve the young master!"
After cursing, Hua Jue thought for a moment, spat in disgust, and ran back quickly towards the Huo Mansion.
When Yun Chen returned to the Huo Mansion, Hua Jue was leaning against the door of the main house with his arms folded, with a playful and contemptuous expression, as if he was waiting to see a good show.
Yun Chen was too lazy to pay attention to him, but when he entered the main room, he saw that all her bedding was thrown on the ground, and her pillow was soaking in the dirty bucket in the corner, and it had already smelled bad.
She rushed to the bed and groped around, her heart suddenly sinking.
The Hidden Moon Sword is gone.
As a guard, losing a weapon is no less than losing one's life, not to mention that it is the peerless sword that Huo Gannian just gave her!
She suddenly became angry and saw that several familiar guards were looking at her with sympathy but did not dare to say anything. She immediately understood everything, turned around and rushed out of the room. Before Hua Jue could react, she kicked him hard on the shoulder.
Hua Jue had prepared a lot of swear words for quarreling, but he didn't expect Yun Chen to say nothing and start fighting right away.
He was completely unprepared and was kicked hard against the corridor pillar. He almost cried in pain.
Feeling the force of the kick, Hua Jue knew that Yun Chen was really angry and was really using all his strength.
Hua Jue didn't expect that this young man who looked like a pretty boy with a strong temperament could be so powerful when he punched and kicked.
What he didn't expect was that everyone in the Huo family gave him some face, but this newcomer didn't take him seriously at all!
"Fuck you!" Hua Jue cursed and fought back with his arms wide open.
Yun Chen dodged the attack and fiercely grabbed Hua Jue's collar: "Give me back my sword!"
Hua Jue broke free, and with every blow he struck, he said, "Your sword? That's the Young Master's sword! Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you come after the Young Master!"
"Okay! Then I'll beat you until you tell!" Yun Chen said with a slightly serious expression, and a hint of murderous intent in his eyes, which made Hua Jue suddenly alert.
Only then did he understand that the few moves he had barely been able to withstand were merely Yun Chen's superficial skills, and now she was ready to get serious.
This guy really can't be underestimated!
Thinking of this, Hua Jue quickly retreated and dodged, hurriedly readjusted his fighting moves, drew the sword from his waist, and rushed forward again with a killing attitude.
Yun Chen had no weapon, so he could only pick up a broom in the yard to resist and fight back.
The two men fought from the yard to the roof, and from the roof to the wall.
A group of guards were watching from the side, and saw Hua Jue showing his sword, ready for a serious fight.
Yun Chen was even more ruthless. Although the broom had been chopped off by a knife, leaving only a sharp stick, in her hand, it was like a long sword flashing with a sharp white light. Several times, she hit Hua Jue so hard that he almost couldn't resist.
Everyone was terrified and didn't dare or have the ability to intervene. They could only try to persuade them kindly from the side.
But the two men obviously didn't hear a word they said, and their moves became more and more brutal, and soon blood was seen.
"No! Go and call Ye Tou'er! If someone dares to take action in the mansion, it will become a big deal!" a guard said urgently.
Soon, Ye Yan hurried over.
Seeing that the yard was crowded with guards and servants, and Yun Chen and Hua Jue on the roof were fighting fiercely, Ye Yan thought that something was wrong, and shouted loudly, rushing forward to separate the two.
Ye Yan twisted the two of them down from the roof.
Hua Jue was still yelling and cursing, while Yun Chen kept struggling and fighting. It was harder to control him than the pig during the Chinese New Year. Ye Yan was so tired that sweat broke out on his forehead.
After finally calming the two of them down, before he could scold them, Runhe suddenly ran over and said that Huo Gannian had ordered them to be taken to Beining Hall.
The guards all grimaced, not only lamenting that Huo Gannian was so well-informed, but also feeling scared for Yun Chen and Hua Jue.
Huo Luyu said that Huo Gannian was very kind to the guards who had been through thick and thin with him, and he rarely scolded them.
Because Huo Gannian usually doesn't talk, he only takes action.
