Chapter 16: Beast

Although Kah Castle is on the Imperial Star, there is no one living within a hundred miles around it. It is the famous uninhabited area of the Imperial Star and also the most talked-about mysterious relic. Over the past few decades, many adventurers have tried to explore the truth in depth, but no one has succeeded so far.

Xitu was a native of the empire and had much more common sense than Qin Changqing. Moreover, since it was he who suggested Qin Changqing to go with him, he spent a lot of money to prepare a lot of weapons.

The two men each brought a guard, and the four of them met in the central building. Xitu was relieved to see him appear in front of him, as if he was afraid that he would change his mind halfway.

"Let's go, it's getting late." Qin Changqing walked over with one hand in his pocket and nodded at him.

"Set off."

Four people took a flying vehicle to the uninhabited area. After entering more than fifty miles, the aircraft could no longer move forward.

"We still have another fifty miles to go. Let's go there by motorcycle." The four people got off the aircraft. Xitu put the aircraft directly into the space button, and then took out a so-called motorcycle he mentioned.

The motorcycle didn't look much different from the ones on Earth, but it had four wheels, and the wheels were huge, a bit like a convertible Hummer.

"How is it? Isn't it very cool?" Xitu looked at the motorcycle as if he was looking at his own wife.

What man doesn't love mechanical items like guns and cars? Qin Changqing was a little envious. Han Hai, standing beside him, quickly took note of the queen's every move, including her demeanor and preferences. He was going to write a report on it when he got home!

The four of them got on the motorcycle and heard a deafening engine sound on the barren plain. The motorcycle shot out with a whoosh like an arrow.

When the towering castle finally came into view in the distance, the four-wheeled scooter slowly came to a stop. Qin Changqing had never ridden such a fast vehicle before, and he behaved well when he got off, though his face was a little pale, which made Hanhai a little worried.

"It's okay, don't worry." Qin Changqing waved at him, opened the kettle and drank a sip of water to suppress the churning feeling in his stomach.

The castle standing on the hillside makes humans look very small. From a distance, you can see cinnabar stones winding into a long dragon surrounding the hillside outside the castle, like an unhealed bloody scar.

Xitu put the motorcycle into the space button, and the four of them took out their own weapons and put them on.

Xitu prepared the most conveniently portable laser gun. When he saw the gorgeous revolver in Qin Changqing's hand, he couldn't help but take it, weigh it, and exclaimed, "It's really beautiful."

"A gift from my comrade." Qin Changqing smiled and put the revolver into the holster at his waist. The sword was hung on the right side of his waist.

"To get to the castle, we need to pass that small building. Let's go over and take a look first." Situ looked ahead with a simple telescope. Not far in front of the big castle, there was a small gray-white building. It might be where the servants of Castle Kah used to live.

"good."

The small building wasn't far away, and they soon reached the area. However, when they were ten meters away from the main door, Hanhai suddenly frowned and said, "Don't go in. It's very dangerous inside."

The next person to discover the danger was Xitu's guard, whose name was Hodge. Hodge and Hanhai looked at each other, took out their weapons, and walked silently in front of Qin Changqing and the others.

At this moment, the door of the small building banged loudly! It was smashed to pieces in an instant. Qin Changqing, who was blocked by two guards, saw several beasts with red eyes and bulging veins rushing out from the door!

The air was filled with the crazy howling of wild beasts. They angrily showed their sharp claws and pounced on everyone's faces!

Hanhai and Hodge had extremely high psychological qualities. They remained calm in the face of the incoming beast tide. They quickly aimed and shot with the laser guns in their hands, and eliminated the first wave of beasts at an extremely fast speed!

"What's going on with these beasts?!" Situ didn't expect these things to appear suddenly. Fortunately, as a police officer, his movements were also very fast.

Qin Changqing opened his eyes slightly. He could clearly see that black monkeys were parasitic on the heads of those beasts!

"Mania! These beasts are also infected with mania!" Qin Changqing shouted.

"...Fuck!!!" Situ was distracted when a massive four-legged beast pounced upon him. The beast roared, opened its bloody mouth, and bit Situ's thigh! Hodge, the guard who had been keeping an eye on him, reacted extremely quickly. He immediately turned around and punched the beast in the head. He used all his strength in that punch, and the beast's skull burst open. It howled and flew away.

However, because Hodge suddenly turned around to deal with the beasts, a gap immediately appeared in front of Qin Changqing. The beasts smelled the blood and became even more excited and crazy, and pounced on Qin Changqing's face fiercely!

Hanhai roared angrily and kicked away a giant wolf that was entangled with him. When he turned around again, the beast's sharp claws almost grabbed Qin Changqing's face!

"gentlemen!!!"

Qin Changqing stared at the beast that pounced on him. When the man and the beast were very close, he suddenly pulled the trigger. The bullet flew out of the air, as if making a sharp sound in the air, and shot straight into the body of the black monkey on the beast's head.

I don’t know what material the bullet casing was changed to. After the bullet shot into the black monkey’s body, the beautiful cinnabar actually broke through the casing and scattered out.

"grumble--!!!"

The black monkey suddenly let out a sharp scream, and Qin Changqing saw a red light as beautiful as the aurora suddenly exploded in the black monkey's body!

Just like beautiful fireworks exploding in the night sky late at night, the streaks of light were extremely gorgeous for a moment, and then they scattered all over the sky. All the monster black monkeys that were touched by the streaks of light let out sharp screams, and the screams were like the cicadas chirping by the river in summer, one wave after another, endless, noisy and harsh, making people irritated.

Everyone saw that the beast that pounced on Qin Changqing was suddenly possessed by some evil spirit. Its ferocious momentum weakened in an instant, and it fell straight to the ground from mid-air. It roared, and after struggling twice with its huge body, it lay flat and motionless.

At the same time, the wild beasts, which were originally very numerous, fell to the ground and twitched as if they were collectively drugged. After a while, there was no movement.

This sudden change made the three people stunned, and they all looked at the gun in Qin Changqing's hand.

Xitu opened his mouth several times, wanting to ask what extraordinary and unique skill he had just used, but when he thought of the secret words Hanhai had told him before, he finally shut up.

After he shut up and regained his consciousness, he felt his ears were almost numb from the shock. He couldn't help but curse, "Fuck! What's that sound?"

The black monkeys did not dissipate immediately after being touched by the flowing light, but they were also "severely injured". Because the parasite was unconscious and no longer produced superpowers and mental power for them to absorb, they soon dissipated due to exhaustion.

Qin Changqing had originally wanted to catch a live black monkey to take back for research, but before he could take out the cinnabar-dyed rope, the black monkey broke apart. He suddenly became a little angry and made a sound of deafening anger.

Hanhai looked at the beasts lying on the ground and said, "Let's rest for a while."

"Okay, let's take a look at what else is in this small building." Xitu breathed a sigh of relief. It was actually quite tiring to rely solely on physical strength without using mental power.

The four of them cautiously entered the small building. The door was completely broken, but the light inside was still very dim. At this moment, a gust of wind blew across the desolate plain, causing the dilapidated door to creak softly, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

After carefully walking around the small building and finding nothing, Xitu suggested going up the mountain as quickly as possible.

Qin Changqing frowned and shook his head and said, "I feel something is wrong."

"What's wrong?" Xitu asked quickly.

Qin Changqing pointed at the broken gate and asked him, "No matter how smart those wild animals are, they don't have the hands to close the door. Tell me..." He suddenly lowered his voice, leaned closer to him and asked in a strange tone, "Tell me, how did those beasts get in? And who closed the door for them? Who... let them wait for us inside this door?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the others felt a chill run down their spines. Situ touched his neck and asked cautiously, "Are you saying... there are other people here?" He swallowed hard, suddenly remembering that this was an uninhabited area where countless people had died—perhaps countless innocent souls remained...

Qin Changqing knew that the Empire also had ghosts and spirits, and that there were no fewer than in China. Seeing his eyes wide open, he deliberately teased him, "Maybe... it's not a human, it might be a ghost."

"Ah! You, you, you, you are so scary!" Situ was so scared that he quickly hid behind the guard. But then he thought about what if the ghost was standing behind him, so he quickly ran to stand in front of the guard, looking like a frightened little rabbit.

The guard inexplicably felt that his young master was a little embarrassing.

Qin Changqing laughed non-stop. He never expected that the interstellar people were also afraid of ghosts.

Hanhai looked at the sky and saw that it was going to rain. The weather in this area was always unpredictable, so he said, "Let's eat first. It will probably rain soon, and it will be dangerous to go up the mountain."

Qin Changqing nodded in agreement, and the four of them divided the work and found a fairly spacious room on the first floor, cleaned it up, and sat down to rest.

The rain started quickly, and soon turned from a drizzle into a downpour. It was only afternoon, but the sky was already dark as if it had entered night.

As several people were looking at the structure of Kah Castle while eating and resting, suddenly, there was a slight sound from the dilapidated door of the hall.

"There's someone!" Hanhai was shocked and quickly ran out of the house.

Qin Changqing followed them out and saw two incredibly handsome men emerging from the rain, pushing open the dilapidated door and entering the house. One of them, a handsome man with waist-length blond hair, looked up, his eyes scanning their faces one by one, finally stopping at Qin Changqing. He suddenly smiled frivolously, "Beautiful lady, it's raining so hard outside. I wonder if I'd be lucky enough to spend this rainy night with you?" He said, winking at him in a flirtatious manner.
