"Eat as much as you can when you're full. In this situation, being polite is unnecessary."
The woman looked at her son beside her, who was so hungry he could barely stand and was staggering as he walked. Her eyes reddened, and she knelt down with a thud, her voice trembling with tears: "Thank you, young lady, you are such a kind person."
"No need to be so polite, please get up." Seeing this, Lin Xihe quickly stepped forward and helped the woman up.
After the woman sat down, Lin Xihe turned around and found Mu Ruoyan staring intently at her.
"What? I'm using my own money." Lin Xihe noticed that Mu Ruoyan was staring at her and assumed that he had a problem with her behavior.
"Hmph, would I, this young master, be short of your little bit of money?" Mu Ruoyan snorted lightly, a hint of disdain flashing across his face. He then turned his face away, no longer looking at her, but there was a hidden meaning in his eyes.
Lin Xihe picked up a piece of beef and put it in her mouth. The tender meat melted in her mouth, and the aroma of the braising sauce filled the air. She couldn't help but exclaim, "This place makes really delicious braised meat." Her voice was full of enjoyment.
"All you ever think about is eating," Mu Ruoyan said coolly from the side, her tone tinged with a hint of mockery.
Lin Xihe breathed a sigh of relief, thinking to herself that she had really gone to the trouble of praising him. She simply ignored Mu Ruoyan and began to eat heartily.
Just as they were enjoying their meal, they suddenly heard the anxious shouts of the woman from behind.
Lin Xihe immediately turned around upon hearing the sound, and saw that the child was tightly covering his neck with both hands, his face was flushed red, his breathing was rapid and difficult, the veins on his forehead were bulging, and his eyes were full of fear and pain.
"Stone, spit it out!" The woman's voice was trembling with anxiety as she spoke frantically while patting the child's back repeatedly, but the child's condition did not improve at all.
Upon seeing this, Lin Xihe immediately put down the steamed bun she hadn't finished eating and rushed to the boy.
She swiftly pulled the boy into her arms, her movements both hurried and cautious. Then, she made a fist and placed it firmly against the front of the child's stomach, rhythmically and gently pressing to try and induce vomiting.
The woman watched from the side, tears welling up in her eyes, her hands twisting together incessantly, completely at a loss, only able to worry helplessly.
With Lin Xihe's rhythmic movements, the foreign object in the child's mouth was quickly expelled. The boy gasped for breath, his flushed face gradually regaining its color, and the fear in his eyes slowly faded.
Lin Xihe did not immediately let go of the boy, but continued to hold him and patiently gestured.
"Sister, if a child is choking, just patting their back won't help. You have to put your fist here..." She explained in detail while gesturing accurately with her hands, her eyes focused and serious.
The woman nodded repeatedly, tears welling in her eyes, her eyes fixed on Lin Xihe's every move, afraid of missing any detail.
Seeing that the woman seemed to understand, Lin Xihe released her grip.
At this moment, she smelled an unpleasant, rancid odor emanating from the child, clearly indicating that he hadn't had a bath in a long time. She frowned slightly, let go of the child, and quickly went to the shopkeeper, politely asked for some water, and carefully washed her hands.
After doing all this, she returned to her seat and continued eating.
