Chapter 123 Good Deeds

Lin Xihe kept as far away from Mu Ruoyan as possible, as if Mu Ruoyan carried some kind of aura that she couldn't avoid, and she didn't even want to glance at him out of the corner of her eye.

"Miss Lin, is it because you feel wronged by interacting with me like this?" Mu Ruoyan's voice, carrying a hint of teasing, drifted leisurely to Lin Xihe's ear. He slightly raised his chin, a faint smile playing on his lips, as if he were enjoying an amusing performance.

Lin Xihe sighed inwardly. Wasn't that just being wronged?

His face instantly changed to a smile, and he said, "Young Master Mu, what are you saying? It is my honor to travel with you."

Mu Ruoyan raised her hand and tapped the empty seat next to her, her tone leaving no room for refusal: "Come on, sit here."

Lin Xihe had no choice but to sit down as instructed, muttering, "Aren't you afraid of being cramped sitting so close?"

"The weather is so cold. It would be wonderful to have Miss Lin here to keep me warm." Mu Ruoyan smiled and felt inexplicably happy as she looked at Lin Xihe's uncomfortable appearance.

In his view, the more uncomfortable Lin Xihe was, the happier he was.

Lin Xihe sat next to Mu Ruoyan, feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Even though she tried her best to move to the side, their legs still kept bumping into each other, which made her feel increasingly uncomfortable.

Suddenly, Lin Xihe coughed a few times, and each cough was intentionally or unintentionally directed towards Mu Ruoyan.

Although her performance seemed a bit deliberate, this trick actually seemed to work.

"You woman!" Mu Ruoyan's expression changed instantly, and she hurriedly waved her hand in front of her, trying to dispel the non-existent "germs".

"I'm so sorry, I caught a bit of a cold yesterday. If Young Master Mu doesn't mind, I'll go sit outside."

As Lin Xihe spoke, she made a move to get up and walk out.

But as soon as she stood up, Mu Ruoyan grabbed her. His grip was strong, like an iron clamp tightly holding her wrist, and he pulled her back to his side.

"It seems Miss Lin really dislikes me?" Mu Ruoyan's tone was tinged with displeasure.

"I was afraid of infecting you, but you took my kindness for granted."

As Lin Xihe spoke, she pretended to cough a few times.

"Don't worry, I'm strong and healthy, I won't be easily infected by you. But if you dare to cough in my face again, don't blame me for being impolite and sewing your mouth shut." Mu Ruoyan's eyes sharpened, revealing a fierce look, as he threatened her half-jokingly and half-seriously.

Upon hearing this, Lin Xihe awkwardly twitched her lips and could only obediently sit down to the side. On the surface, she pretended to be compliant, but in her heart, she had already cursed Mu Ruoyan to the core.

She thought to herself: You unreasonable bastard! If it weren't for the circumstances, I wouldn't put up with you like this!

"It's truly a strange thing that someone can like a woman like you." Mu Ruoyan's words were full of sarcasm, and they floated out of his mouth once again.

A surge of dissatisfaction welled up in Lin Xihe's heart, and she thought to herself: I didn't ask you to like it!

But she only dared to mutter these words to herself and didn't dare to say them out loud.

"So lukewarm, it's really boring. Come on, give me a leg massage." Mu Ruoyan said, stretching his legs out onto the cushion next to him in a nonchalant manner, as if Lin Xihe were his servant.

Lin Xihe didn't say much about it. She had expected Mu Ruoyan to do this, so she could only silently squat down and massage his legs.

Before meeting Lin Xihe, Mu Ruoyan was also curious, wondering what kind of woman could make those two people fall so deeply in love with her.

After meeting her, he was greatly disappointed, feeling that Lin Xihe was nothing more than a pretty face, and her personality was extremely boring.

Lin Xihe kept kneading for a full hour before Mu Ruoyan finally called for a stop.

At this moment, Lin Xihe's legs were already numb and she had lost all feeling in them, and her hands were also extremely sore.

As she rubbed her leg, she thought to herself: So when you curse someone in your mind, they don't sneeze. She had spent a whole hour mentally cursing Mu Ruoyan to the core, but he hadn't reacted at all.

Around noon, Lin Xihe and his group passed by a tea stall and stopped to rest for a while.

The tea stall was small, with simple tables and chairs casually placed, and the air was filled with the aroma of food.

Besides tea, the tea stall also offered some simple snacks. Lin Xihe ordered a few light meals.

As soon as I ordered, the steaming hot food was served.

Just then, a ragged woman, leading a boy of about five or six years old, slowly walked up to them.

The woman had a sallow complexion, high cheekbones, and eyes full of exhaustion and helplessness; the little boy was even thinner, skin and bones, his face dirty and showing signs of hunger.

The woman lowered her head slightly, her hands unconsciously clutching the hem of her clothes. With a hint of timidity and extreme embarrassment, she spoke, "Young lady, could you please have some food? My son hasn't eaten for two days..." Her voice was weak, but it was full of a mother's plea.

Seeing this, Lin Xihe immediately reached out and pointed to the empty seat next to her, saying softly, "Please sit here. I'll order you some food."

After saying that, he turned around and shouted to the stall owner, "Stadium owner, give me a serving of beef, a few steamed buns, and some boiled tofu!"

"Okay!" the stall owner replied readily, quickly starting to prepare.

"Young lady, no need for so much, just give me something to eat." The woman looked uneasy as she listened to the food order, feeling that she had caused the other person too much trouble.
