Chapter 198 Kidnapping

On the way back to the mansion, Lin Xihe's carriage encountered a wedding procession, which was quite lively.

She intended to have the carriage turn around to make way, but the deafening sound of firecrackers startled a tall horse, which neighed and charged wildly, knocking pedestrians to the ground.

Upon seeing this, Lin Xihe quickly instructed Ling Xue to go and handle the situation.

Ling Xue quickly stepped forward and tried to comfort him, but the person who had been hit was still making a fuss. Several people who were with him also surrounded him, shouting and yelling, completely surrounding Ling Xue.

Lin Xihe was sitting in the car, about to get out to help, when she suddenly smelled a strange fragrance. The fragrance wafted into her nostrils, instantly blurring her consciousness. Then, everything went black, and she fainted.

Lin Xihe slowly woke up from her daze, her head still very heavy, and she could still hear vague sounds.

She instinctively tried to move, but was shocked to find her hands and feet tightly bound by ropes. With each struggle, the rough hemp ropes dug deep into her flesh, causing excruciating pain.

She slowly opened her eyes and saw dark, mottled walls. The air around her was filled with an old and decaying smell. Clearly, this was an empty house that had been uninhabited for a long time.

Before she was fully conscious, Lin Xihe overheard a conversation between a man and a woman.

"Did things go smoothly? Has anyone noticed?"

The woman's voice was clear and crisp, yet carried a hint of barely perceptible tension.

The voice entered Lin Xihe's drowsy mind, and her confused consciousness instantly cleared up a bit. She felt that the voice was inexplicably familiar, but she couldn't remember who it was for a moment.

"Don't you trust me to handle things?"

The man was full of smugness, his tone tinged with a hint of flirtation, as he moved closer to the woman: "Baby, you should reward me and give me a kiss."

"Stop joking around, what time is it?"

The woman frowned, impatiently backed away, and gently pushed the man's chest with her hand, trying to keep her distance from him.

A smirk played on the man's lips. Undeterred, he stretched out his long arm, grabbed the woman's waist, and pulled her roughly into his embrace, muttering, "Hey, where did your wanton spirit from yesterday go? What are you pretending to be so proper for?"

The woman gasped, her body instantly stiffening. She pressed her hands firmly against the man's chest: "Are you crazy! We haven't finished our business yet, don't do anything reckless here!"

"I don't care. If you don't kiss me today, I won't care about this anymore."

The man's tone instantly turned cold, a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes, and he tightened his grip, causing the woman's brows to furrow.

A flicker of disgust crossed the woman's face, but she gritted her teeth and finally gave in: "Fine, just once."

The man smiled triumphantly, then suddenly lowered his head and kissed the woman's lips fiercely. The woman turned her head away, and the man's kiss landed on her cheek. He didn't care at all and began to kiss the woman's face haphazardly, while one hand roamed restlessly over the woman's body.

The woman kept her eyes tightly closed, her face full of humiliation, her body trembling slightly, but she dared not resist any longer.

"Alright, are you satisfied now?"

The woman mustered all her strength, pushed the man away forcefully, and hurriedly wiped the saliva off her face, her eyes burning with anger and resentment.

"That's more like it."

The man licked his lips with a look of lingering satisfaction.

"Don't worry, I've hidden that woman away very well; she can't escape even if she grows wings. But you have to keep your word. Once this is completely over, spend some time with me." As the man spoke, that greedy look reappeared on his face.

"I understand. Just don't ruin him. He'll be very useful in the future."

The woman glared at the man with disgust, then turned and hurriedly straightened her disheveled clothes, trying to regain a shred of dignity.

The man revealed that malicious smile again: "Shall I drug her a little to liven things up?"

"no!"

"We have to play with her when she's sober, and find a few more people to take good care of her!"

The woman's voice was like the biting cold wind in the dead of winter, carrying hatred. The intense resentment made one's spine tingle and hair stand on end.

Lin Xihe's heart tightened suddenly, and fear instantly overwhelmed her.

She suppressed her inner turmoil and tried her best to calm herself down.

She subtly twisted her wrists, trying to break free of the ropes, but the ropes seemed to be attached to her body, bound so tightly that she couldn't loosen them even a little.

Suddenly, the door to the room creaked open, and blinding light shot in without warning.

A tall, imposing man appeared at the doorway, a chilling, malicious smile on his face. He approached Lin Xihe step by step, slowly yet menacingly.

"Oh, little beauty, you're awake?"

The man's voice was nauseatingly lewd, like something sticky and dirty, making one feel uncomfortable all over.

Lin Xihe turned her head away in disgust and shouted sharply, "Who are you? Why did you kidnap me? What do you want?"

The man ignored her questions, instead reaching out and gripping Lin Xihe's chin like a pair of pliers, forcing her to raise her head: "Don't be so angry. Be a good girl and you might suffer less."

Lin Xihe struggled to break free from the man's grip, but was pushed to the ground.

The man looked down at her, his eyes filled with greed and undisguised desire, as if he were sizing up a lamb to the slaughter.

"You'd better not waste your energy. There are people guarding this house. You can't escape," the man said coldly, his voice filled with certainty.

Lin Xihe gritted her teeth, constantly thinking of a solution in her mind.
