Chapter 4 Enduring Humiliation to Sell Gems

But right now, she had to think of a solution. She paced around the room with the jade pendant in her hand, sometimes sighing and sometimes cursing.

On Ji Zhuo's side, a sense of regret was already quietly spreading in his heart.

He thought to himself that he shouldn't have pretended to have amnesia so rashly; it was a really stupid move.

If I had known, I should have used that red berries I picked yesterday that could cause stomach pain, pretending they were poison to blackmail her, so I could have her under my control. Instead, I'm in such a passive position now. I thought that pretending to have amnesia would gain some sympathy and give me a chance to turn things around, but even though she believes I have amnesia, she's not buying it at all. She's completely unyielding and really hard to deal with.

“Silly boy, let’s sell these two jade pendants. We’ll get money from selling them, split it between us, you can get your brain treated, and I’ll live a good life.”

"If we can't sell it for money, we'll sell your sword. It's definitely worth a lot of money." Lin Xihe's eyes darted around, and her face suddenly broke into a grin, as if she could already see a large sum of money coming in.

Ji Zhuo looked at the two jade pendants in Lin Xihe's hand. One of the jade pendants was his family heirloom, and the other was a gift from his mentor on his coming-of-age ceremony. They were of great significance and he could not sell them casually.

Seeing Ji Zhuo's furrowed brows, Lin Xihe immediately became furious and raised her voice, saying, "You idiot, I'm not negotiating with you. These two jade pendants are mine, but the sword is yours. I'm selling my things, and you still dare to frown?"

Ji Zhuo looked at the furious Lin Xihe.

None of these three items can be sold right now. He is currently being hunted down, and if he sells any of them, his whereabouts will likely be exposed again.

“Since the jade pendant is yours, it certainly can’t be sold. The sword is mine? I see there are many gems on the scabbard. Let’s take the gems off and sell them. That’ll be enough to make a living.” Ji Zhuo’s mind raced, and he came up with this idea, trying to appease Lin Xihe first.

Upon hearing this, Lin Xihe immediately grabbed the sword sheath from the bed, examined it closely, and muttered, "Selling gems is enough to make a living?"

"Yes, although I don't have my previous memories, I still have basic common sense."

"Alright, then sell the gems first. After you sell the gems, go get your brain treated. You little fool, you're the one who said to sell the gems, not me."

If I recover someday, I can't blame myself.

"Don't! Call me! Little! Fool! Again!" Ji Zhuo said, enunciating each word clearly.

Looking at his serious expression, Lin Xihe felt inexplicably that this silly boy was quite intimidating when he got serious, and even a little scary.

However, she wasn't intimidated. She immediately punched Ji Zhuo in the shoulder, yelling, "Show me some respect! Who are you trying to scare with that long face?"

"That's not what I meant. It's just that 'little fool' sounds awful. Maybe I have a name? Look at the words on this jade pendant." Ji Zhuo frowned slightly, rubbing his shoulder where he had been hit. He tried to use the words on the jade pendant to guide Lin Xihe to say the name she wanted, so that she could get rid of the awful "little fool".

"The jade pendant is mine! I'll say it again." Lin Xihe tightened the jade pendant in her arms, glaring at Ji Zhuo warily, like a miser guarding her treasure, as if afraid that Ji Zhuo would snatch it away at any moment.

"Fine." Ji Zhuo gritted his teeth.

"But what's the pronunciation of this character? Zhai?" Lin Xihe took out the jade pendant and showed it to Ji Zhuo.

“濯.” (zhuo)

"Oh, right, right, it's the character '濯' (zhuó). I've seen it somewhere before. Since I won't call you 'Little Fool,' you can call me 'Ah Jian.'"

"'A-Zhuo,' is that not okay?"

"I've already told you the jade pendant is mine, and the sword is yours. Calling it 'Ah Jian' would be more appropriate. Do you think 'Ah Zhuo' would be suitable?"

"suitable."
