Chapter 94 Beyond the Plan

Chapter 94 Beyond the Plan

The small living room felt a bit cramped with four people sitting on the three-seater sofa. Marrku, with her European physique, naturally secured the single-seater spot. Hanyu Yumi and Kaede sat together. Although they were close friends, they felt a sense of nervous scrutiny for the first time. They'd been chatting and laughing all the way from Sendai, but why were they all silent now?

The sound of water splashing in the bathroom reminded Yumi Hanyu.

Well, it must be the tense atmosphere created by this kid Yuzuru.

Just now, Yuzuru Hanyu had an unruly hairstyle that showed he had just woken up, which made his mother feel petrified and panicked in a concrete way.

But she couldn't really blame him. They hadn't mentioned on the phone yesterday that Feng and Marrku were coming too, so it was understandable that he was caught off guard. Furthermore, Feng hadn't smiled since entering the room, his expressionless gaze sweeping around the room, making her nervous.

Feng had no idea her stern demeanor was creating a tense atmosphere; she simply wanted to get a good look at Le's current living quarters. The last time she'd visited Le's dorm was shortly after arriving in Boston, when she'd taken a break from a work trip. In that small, viewable room, the bed and desk were pushed as far to the edges as possible, minimizing their presence and leaving a space in the middle just large enough for a square mat.

[It doesn't look like a girl's room at all.]

This was Feng's comment on Le's dorm room back then. Le had only refuted it somewhat unhappily, saying that he only came back to sleep anyway and spent most of his time in the practice room.

Later, Le returned to Helsinki and lived at home. Feng would often feel dazed, as if she hadn't come back. Only the clothes hanging in the drying room and the no longer empty room reminded her that Le was back.

【Do you have any furniture you like? We can replace it with something you like. 】

That year, Feng wanted to change the style of their home, and Marrku asked Le for her opinion. She simply tilted her head and thought for a moment, saying she was busy with school and work and rarely spent time at home, so she decided to stick with what her mother liked.

Now, Le should still be busy with work, still spending a lot of time in the practice room and with the dance troupe. But in this house, whether it was the blankets and stuffed animals on the sofa, the decorations and flowers and plants dotting the house, or the small items in the kitchen arranged for easy access, everything made Feng feel for the first time that this was where his daughter lived.

The coffee machine in the kitchen beeped, announcing the end of its work round and interrupting Feng's thoughts.

She watched Yuzuru Hanyu emerge from his room, a few strands of hair still sticking out from washing his face. He paid no mind and hurriedly headed for the kitchen. However, once inside, his movements slowed. From the sofa, she couldn't see his expression, only that he scratched his head. The question of "what should I do?" seemed to hang prominently on his furry head.

"Good morning."

Le came out of the room to greet Feng, interrupting her observation of Hanyu Yuzuru. She had changed into comfortable home clothes, her hair tied in a simple ponytail, and she seemed much more relaxed than Hanyu Yuzuru. After greeting the elders in the living room one by one, she went into the kitchen.

Yuzuru Hanyu, who was waiting in the kitchen, immediately received new instructions and started to get cups and make tea.

From their whispered conversation, it can be heard that Yuzuru was unsure about who to drink coffee and who to drink tea, and whether to add milk or not, and he was hesitant and entangled for a moment.

"Relax, Feng, you're making Yuzu nervous." Marrku, sitting on the single sofa, leaned towards Feng. Taking advantage of his long legs, he naturally leaned forward and gently held Feng's hand with concern. Seeing that Feng was a little confused, Marrku moved closer and whispered in her ear, "Did you forget that Yuzu came to you so formally not long ago and promised you that he would protect Raku. But now that you've come so suddenly, it's hard for him not to think you're here for an inspection. Besides, you really are very serious right now."

After being reminded of this, Feng realized that he had been keeping a stern face and the corners of his mouth were a little tense.

How could she forget?

A week ago, Yuzuru Hanyu visited the family home alone. He knelt behind the coffee table, facing the elders. Though sweat dripped from his temples with nervousness, he remained straight-backed, hands resting on his knees, meticulously attentive.

"Aunt Feng, Marrku-san, Grandma Keiko, Grandpa Sosuke, I know Le has been in a lot of trouble recently because of me, and I feel I owe you a formal apology for these things. I didn't think it through beforehand, but I won't let the public opinion about Le ferment any further. I already have a plan for how to deal with it. Please trust me."

"How did you plan that?"

"I've discussed this with Le, and we'll go public directly."

"And then continue to not want to deal with the media and paparazzi, neither offering any benefits nor threatening or controlling them. I don't think this kind of publicity is of any use, and it may even put Le in a more difficult position." Feng crossed his arms over his chest and spoke pointedly.

However, Yuzuru Hanyu was not troubled by her. Instead, he said confidently that he had a way.

Looking at the two children sitting opposite him, Yuzuru Hanyu's stubborn look that day appeared in Feng's mind again.

"Um, did everyone have a smooth journey from Sendai?" Yuzuru Hanyu noticed that the elders were all holding their cups and not talking, feeling a little awkward for a moment. "It must be quite tiring to come so early. We haven't arranged accommodations yet. I'll see how to arrange accommodations for Aunt Feng and Marrku-san later..."

"Your news was so sensational last night. If we hadn't come earlier, we might have been stopped outside by paparazzi." Yumi Hanyu put down the teacup in her hand and raised her chin to the window.

Following her gesture, Yuzuru Hanyu walked to the window, drew aside the curtains, and glanced down. The apartment was on a high floor, but it was still high enough for him to clearly see the groups of people outside the main door.

"Is the current situation outside also within the scope of your plan?" Feng also spoke up, "Le, you really should discuss this with us."

"Aunt Feng, this is my fault. I planned it all by myself. In fact, Le didn't know about it yesterday."

Yuzuru Hanyu quietly patted Le's hand from beneath the coffee table, then took the initiative to take responsibility. This, of course, earned him a lecture from his parents, but he didn't argue, simply listening obediently with his head down.

Looking at him with his furry head lowered, he looked very obedient. However, his hair had been wetted and pressed down, and now that the moisture had dried, his hair was sticking up again, quietly representing his stubbornness.

"Yuzuru, your decision this time is too rash. No matter what, this is a matter between the two of you. As a man, you should be responsible, but you are being too presumptuous."

"Uncle Xiu Li, he didn't do it on his own. We discussed it." After listening to them scolding him for a while, Le couldn't help but speak up. "We did agree to make it public, but as for the specifics of how to do it, I think Yuzuru is more experienced in this area, so he will make all the decisions. I will cooperate. Actually, I was lazy."

She was so focused on genuinely gazing into Hanyu Hideki and Hanyu Yumi's eyes as she spoke, she didn't notice the look her mother was giving her. She brushed off the hand that was secretly tugging at her from under the coffee table and continued explaining, "I've been really busy with work lately, and thanks to Yuzuru, we've been able to arrange everything and finalize all the collaborations with the group, so I can focus on preparing for the live rehearsal."

"Really?" Feng put the coffee cup in his hand on the coffee table with a thud. "Since you guys already discussed this, then you can handle it yourselves. We came here because Marrku has some friends in Tokyo that he needs to meet recently. He'll be leaving in two days, so we don't want to cause any trouble for you."

"How could it be, Aunt Feng..."

"Mom, making this public is bound to be difficult no matter what, and being discussed is inevitable. Please don't be angry with us..."

"Yes, I understand your situation and I'm not angry. We did hear from Yumi that Yuzuru invited them to come and help, so we came here together. Now is the time for Yuzuru to catch up on his sleep, right? Let's go first and not disturb your rest." After Feng finished speaking, he didn't give the two children a chance to continue explaining, and pulled Yumi up with him.

This unexpected morning finally returned to calm as the elders left. The two people standing at the entrance looked at each other, momentarily bewildered. The elders said they were leaving, so they should have stayed a while, right? Why did they just go along with their wishes and even see them to the door?

"Is Aunt Feng very angry..." Yuzuru Hanyu hooked Le's little finger to bring her back to her senses, "But thank you for speaking up for me, hehe~"

I didn't mean to speak for you. Le Momo pouted.

"I'm just stating the truth...but Uncle Xiu Li is right, you should have told me."

"Yeah, I'll definitely discuss this with you in advance next time." He promised earnestly, "But Aunt Feng seems really angry... What should I do? Aunt Feng's anger seems a bit scary..."

Yuzuru Hanyu is not the only one who feels this way.

"Feng, why are you so angry with the kids all of a sudden?" Yumei couldn't help but complain when they got back to the car. "You look pretty scary when you're angry... The kids are facing such a big hardship right now, and you're still so angry. Why bother?"

"..." Feng couldn't answer for a moment. They had clearly agreed on the way here that they came to support the children, but in the end he still couldn't control his temper.

Just as she was feeling annoyed, Marrku's broad palm gently patted Feng's back.

"Don't worry, I'll find time to talk to Raku and Yuzu later."
