Chapter 83 Scott's Outpost (2/2)

Lina and Ellen looked over at the sound and saw that it was Fagga and Corinne bringing over the dishes.

Fagga quickly put down the dishes and sat down, anxiously asking, "Did you find anything?"

"Yes, I've found some information."

Lina smiled and said, "Generally speaking, in murder cases like this, the mastermind will most likely choose a place where they can see the whole process and personally confirm the target's death. At the very least, they will arrange for someone to come and keep watch."

"Therefore, we just need to check which locations near where you had the accident are suitable for building a viewing platform."

As she spoke, Lina posted two rather blurry photos, in which only the backs of the people were visible.

But you can still tell that one of them is a human with a full head of yellow hair, and the other is a gray-haired wolf-man.

After staring at the photograph for a while, Fagga looked up, somewhat puzzled by its blurriness.

Lina shook her head helplessly and sighed, "That hotel is a shady place. You can check in without providing any identification information. I had to have a friendly conversation with the owner for a while before he was willing to tell me the physical characteristics of the two people who rented that room."

"But those two are quite clever; they knew to avoid the surveillance cameras. I had to search through several shops on the surrounding streets before I found a moment when they were off guard and exposed themselves. This is really troublesome!"

After saying that, Lina crossed her arms and pretended to be angry, saying, "But Fagga doesn't even give me a chance to cook. All my efforts and dedication have been in vain."

"Hehe..."

Faga gave a wry smile, pinched his acupoints, turned his head to the side, and pretended not to have heard Lina's words at all, dryly saying:

"Oh dear, I'm suddenly so hungry! Kelin, are you hungry too? Why don't we all eat first?"

"Fa~jia~"

Lina gave him a resentful look, her pearly teeth lightly biting her lower lip.

But Fagga ignored them, served everyone rice, and handed it to them, saying to himself:

"Eat, eat. It is the way of a gentleman not to talk while eating or sleeping... Eileen, you should put down your phone and eat too."

Eileen pouted, slammed her phone down on the table, and swiftly tore open the abyss's maw, determined to get revenge on Fagar and leave him no food behind.

But Fagga was completely unaffected. He continued to eat slowly and methodically, finishing his bowl of rice, saying goodbye, and returning to his room. He briefly browsed his phone before going to bed early.

...

The next day, which happened to be the weekend, Fagga and Ellen agreed to accompany Ruby to take the qualification exam.

So, a pickup truck sped wildly down the road to Scott's outpost.

Ruby sat in the back row, looking around curiously, and couldn't help but take out her phone and snap photos.

Eileen was blinded by the flashing lights. After pulling over, she turned around and glared at Ruby, making her scalp tingle.

"Um...that..."

Caught taking photos without permission, Ruby awkwardly scratched her face, which was burning with embarrassment. After struggling with her thoughts for a long time and failing to come up with an excuse, she simply resigned herself to fate and said:

"Ellen, you look so pretty in your maid outfit... and Fagga too, your butler uniform is so handsome!"

"Thank you for the compliment."

Fagar adjusted his monocle, chuckled softly, turned and got out of the car. He then went to the back, opened the back door of the pickup truck, bent slightly, and said gently:

"Please get out of the car, Investigator."

"Um!"

Ruby had never seen anything like this before, and her eyes lit up with excitement. She jumped out of the car after responding excitedly. When she saw Eileen carrying a large pair of scissors, she didn't panic at all. Instead, she squeezed forward and pulled Eileen over.

"Come on, everyone, are you all ready?"

Ruby was incredibly excited. She stood on tiptoe, hooked her arm around Fagga's shoulder, and with her other hand holding the phone, she wrapped it around Elaine's fair neck. Leaning against the pickup truck, she laughed happily:

"Hey, Fagga Ellen, cheer up! It's not easy to get out and have some fun. Say cheese!"

Ellen and Fagga exchanged a glance, smiled helplessly, and could only cooperate with Ruby.

However, before Ruby could take a second photo, a woman in uniform strode over, saluted, and then sternly rebuked her: "Comrade, photography is prohibited at Scott Post!"

"If you are a civilian organization interested in participating in the investigation of the Void Zero, then we would absolutely welcome you."

"But if you're just here for the spectacle, then please leave; it's dangerous here."
