The main story is completed, with revisions and side stories incoming. A fun, lighthearted daily life story without angst.
1.
Nan Wang transmigrates into a novel as a lowly servant disciple of the Qingyun Sect. In truth, he is an undercover agent from the Demon Sect, tasked with approaching the sect’s eldest senior brother and stealing a crucial cultivation manual.
However, after decades undercover, all Nan Wang ever does is sweep floors, plant vegetables, and feed bunnies. He can’t even meet an inner disciple, let alone the eldest senior brother.
When his cover assignment seems destined to fail, he’s suddenly sent to clean the main hall due to a staff shortage—right as the main plot kicks off. The senior brother, having unknowingly impregnated a mortal woman, plans to bring her into the sect despite opposition.
Nan Wang’s thoughts:
“Ah, here’s that nine-tailed fox demoness pretending to be a mortal. She’s going to massacre 1,400 sect members later.”
The senior brother, about to be punished with a disciplinary whip: “What?”
The senior sister, holding the whip: “Wait, what?”
The kneeling junior brothers and sisters pleading for mercy all freeze.
Nan Wang continues:
“Honestly, the senior brother is too naive. He thinks one night in bed can lead to pregnancy. Even kids know better. Tsk tsk.”
Everyone stares at the senior brother, their expressions shifting from anger to pity.
Even the frosty sect leader pinches the bridge of his nose, muttering, “Absurd.”
2.
Despite being just a menial disciple, Nan Wang always seems to be present during pivotal plot moments due to "coincidences."
When the senior sister tries to break up her younger sister's romance, Nan Wang mentally recalls the sister’s secret jealousy, which leads her to sabotage the senior sister’s spiritual sword. The senior sister immediately sends her sister away with her lover.
When the second senior brother contemplates betraying the sect out of gratitude to his supposed savior, Nan Wang’s thoughts expose the fraud, leading to the brother achieving enlightenment instead.
When the third senior brother faces a deadly secret realm, Nan Wang’s inner monologue makes him choose another, safer path.
Over time, Nan Wang inexplicably rises from servant to outer disciple, then to inner disciple, becoming the sect's collective favorite. Senior brothers and sisters shower him with treasures, techniques, pills, and tools.
But despite years of effort, Nan Wang remains at the lowest cultivation stage.
“I’m hopeless. If my undercover identity is exposed, I can’t even escape.”
Everyone else: "...We’ve known for ages."
When his identity as a demon spy is finally exposed, the entire sect stands by him, prepared to fight anyone who dares harm him.
Nan Wang: "???"
Additional Notes:
Features a mind-reading troupe darling (gong) x a cold, beautiful “bunny-like” (shou).
