CompletedHuang Quanchuan Jiuyuan, a poor high school boy, joined a talent competition in hopes of winning the grand prize to pay his rent. While he gained a massive fan following, corruption behind the scenes caused him to lose in the final round, leaving him broke and on the verge of eviction.
Just as he’s about to lose everything, he binds to a supernatural urban legend system, gaining the power to impersonate roles from eerie and terrifying tales. Thus begins his journey of playing urban legends to gain reputation points and exchange them for money.
[The Slit-Mouth Man]: A once-aspiring star who died tragically during a forced cosmetic surgery. Now, he roams Yokohama in a black waterproof coat, dragging a sharp pair of scissors along the ground. Beneath his mask, his pale face and haunting blue eyes gleam in the darkness.
"Am I pretty?"
[Hanako in the Bathroom]: In a certain high school, on the third floor, if someone knocks on the bathroom stall and asks, "Is Hanako there?", a frail boy dressed in a white shirt and red suspenders will answer, coughing softly. Stretching out a pale hand, he asks:
"What is your wish?"
[Kisaragi Station]: A train that never stops at any known station. Alighting at the eerily empty platform, you search for an exit, only to find yourself in pitch darkness. Just as despair takes hold, a beautiful young man with a lantern emerges from the shadows, his lips curling into a mysterious smile beneath the swaying trees.
"My home is just ahead. Would you like to rest there for a while?"
Jiuyuan takes on increasingly sinister roles in these urban legends, questioning whether he can truly handle the challenge. But the sight of the massive reward numbers behind each task ignites his determination.
Jiuyuan: "I wanted to refuse, but the pay is just too good."
Soon, he becomes known as the Slit-Mouth Man on Yokohama streets, the mysterious Hanako in the bathroom, and the charming yet eerie figure at Kisaragi Station.
Jiuyuan: "Yes, it’s all me."
But rumors begin to circulate about a "Lord of a Hundred Ghosts," a figure who commands all the terrifying legends under his reign.
Jiuyuan: "…Ahem, yes, that’s also me."
