By the time Xu Zhaoyue finished reading the lab report, it was almost lunchtime. Just as she was about to go out for lunch, Yue Lanxing opened the door before her. She took a step back and looked at Yue Lanxing, as if asking her with her eyes what had happened.

"The second young lady is heading this way; she must be looking for you, the eldest young lady." Yue Lanxing had been keeping a close eye on the corridor from outside, so he noticed the voices coming from the stairs and knew immediately that Xu Zhaoming was approaching.

Xu Zhaoyue fiddled with her hair. "Oh, I was hoping to have dinner with you, but now I've lost my appetite. Well, she's already here. It would be so impolite of me to wait for her to come and knock on the door."

"Come with me and take a look." Xu Zhaoyue bypassed Yue Lanxing and opened the door directly. As soon as she stepped out of the office, she turned her head and saw Xu Zhaoming's smiling face. Seeing her leave, he immediately ran over.

"Sister! Long time no see!" Xu Zhaoming ran over and opened his arms, wanting to hug Xu Zhaoyue, but Xu Zhaoyue took a step back, leaving Xu Zhaoming frozen in place.

"Long time no see." Xu Zhaoyue's tone was light and casual, completely unconcerned about how embarrassed Xu Zhaoming was by her actions. From her angle, she could even see the person behind Xu Zhaoming trying not to laugh.

Xu Zhaoming's expression changed, but he finally withdrew his hand. "Hey, why are we being so distant?"

“It’s better to be a little distant, we’re not that close anyway.” Xu Zhaoyue was completely unreserved in her perfunctory attitude. “Say it, what do you want to see me about? No need for those polite words.”

Seeing that she was unmoved, Xu Zhaoming could no longer maintain his smile. "Ahem, I came here to talk to you about the anniversary celebration. These are the invitations to the party. I've reserved ten for you, but I've already sent them out to everyone I was supposed to. You can use these to invite other people."

Xu Zhaoming's assistant handed a stack of red invitations to Xu Zhaoyue with both hands. However, Xu Zhaoyue only glanced at them and did not take them. With just this one action, Yue Lanxing understood that he was to take them, so he reached out and took them.

Yue Lanxing felt unfriendly stares and didn't want to give them a second glance. "How much money I get is not important. What's important is that it's my honor to work under Miss Yue."

"Alright, is it fun arguing like this? I've already accepted the invitation. If there's nothing else, you can leave." Xu Zhaoyue didn't give Xu Zhaoming any more chances to find fault and directly ordered him to leave.

Provoked by his words, Xu Zhaoming was about to leave when his assistant suddenly coughed behind him. "Cough cough cough!" Xu Zhaoming looked back with disgust, and then, at the assistant's prompting, remembered the purpose of his visit.
