Chapter 210 The Abyss (Part 5)

After struggling for a while and realizing he couldn't get off the chair, Todd shouted at the castle's master, "What have you done?!"

Clarence conjured a bottle of red wine out of thin air, poured a glass for himself and his guest, then beckoned a velvet chaise lounge, sat down, and calmly said to Todd, "During my travels in the northern part of the continent, I encountered a barbarian sorceress whom the locals called 'Evil Raven.' Legend has it that she understands the human heart and can not only heal the wounds of the human soul but also turn people into the most ferocious monsters."

“I was very interested in this old witch’s abilities and tried to find out her secret of manipulating people’s minds—'Soul Link'. This strange ability can turn thoughts in the brain into reality and pull the consciousness of others into one’s own soul world through physical touch.”

Clarence looked up and saw the rooftops gradually disappear. A huge full moon poured its bright moonlight into the room like flowing water. The man, bathed in the glow, closed his eyes and enjoyed all this beauty.

Todd asked, "You encountered a being with a 'soul link,' so what happened next?"

"I ate her."

The sudden, terrifying words startled Todd.

As Clarence recalled the scene, he said with lingering fear, "It was a brutal battle, and the closest I've ever come to death in my life, but in the end I still won."

“Since acquiring the ability of ‘Soul Link,’ through continuous attempts, I have finally succeeded in pulling the souls of others into my cognitive world. Then, through the destruction of their spirit and the crushing of their will, I can completely turn them into an unobstructed ‘library,’ freely perusing their memories and understanding.” Clarence leaned forward, asking Todd, “King Muxi, I am extremely reluctant to see our relationship reach this point. You and I should be allies, not enemies. We each possess what the other desires most; self-destruction would be the most foolish decision. Therefore, this is the third and final time I will ask you—are you willing to cooperate with me?”

Todd looked at Clarence and suddenly laughed.

The latter asked curiously, "What are you laughing at?"

“You remind me of a story I heard before. There was a famous circus owner who owned a lion. He would tell everyone how close he and the lion were. Someone asked him, ‘If you two are so close, why do you keep the lion in a cage?’ The circus owner said one thing…” Todd stared into Clarence’s eyes and said, word by word, “Because it is ultimately just a man-eating beast! No one can guarantee that it won’t pounce on its master when it’s hungry!”

Clarence's expression changed, and anger caused the muscles on his face to contort and swell.

The castle shook, the floor collapsed, and the world began to change.

Clarence's body slowly grew larger, his eyes became like copper bells, his hair stood on end, and his voice was like thunder. His entire figure was as majestic and magnificent as the legendary ancient Titan.

He crouched down, his gaping maw, as wide as a city gate, unleashing a deafening roar: "You ungrateful wretch, do you think you can disregard everything just because you've ascended the throne with your petty cleverness?! Let me teach you what true absolute power really is!"

Todd was forced backward by the wind pressure generated by the giant's shout.

A hand the size of a hill slammed into Todd, sending him flying dozens of meters away.

Todd crashed to the ground, his entire skeleton feeling as if it were about to shatter. He coughed up several mouthfuls of blood and was about to get up when he was kicked into the air by a huge foot.

Clarence used his thumb and forefinger to pinch the fallen Todd, lifting him into the air and bringing him close to his eyes, laughing loudly, "What right do you have to be proud?! You're just a farmer's son, a charlatan! What holy son?! What king?! Ridiculous!"

Tilting his head to the side, Todd spat the blood mixed with his teeth into the giant's ugly nose and nodded to Clarence, saying, "Thanks for reminding me... You've finally made me remember what kind of guy I really am."

A black hole the size of a fist appeared in the air, expanding rapidly at a visible speed and devouring this soul world.

A thick, long steel pipe emerged from the black hole, pointing directly at the giant's head.

Todd's smile sent chills down one's spine.

He smiled and looked into the giant's eyes: "In my hometown, there is a saying..."

When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.

The explosion resounded through the sky as a 240mm high-explosive shell, accompanied by a dazzling flash of light, flew out of the cannon barrel and struck the giant's nose.
