Chapter 233 Heading Towards the Darkest Hour

"Have we entered the icy sea area?"

“That’s right, start from here. The ice will get thicker and thicker, and the waterway will get narrower and narrower. I can guarantee that no captain other than me will be able to get you to your destination safely.”

Todd instinctively touched his completely mutated right arm with his left hand.

Aisha looked at his thick robe and asked with a smile, "Mr. Derek, it's summer now. Although we've entered the ice field region, your clothes are a bit too thick."

Todd said sheepishly, "I have no resistance to cold weather."

Seeing Aisha's suspicious look, Todd changed the subject: "In all these days, you seem to have never asked why we went to the Land of Shadows..."

“Not prying into the privacy of ‘goods’ is one of my strengths.” Aisha blinked. “So, unlike those other reckless colleagues, I have a pretty good reputation in the industry.”

"I once heard His Majesty mention that you wish to ambush other pirates in exchange for the kingdom's funding and trust. Forgive my bluntness, but wouldn't doing so jeopardize your survival?"

Aisha narrowed her eyes, her pupils shrinking slightly: "Mr. Derek, I hope you can learn from my good point: don't ask about things you shouldn't ask."

Todd shrugged, indicating that he meant no harm.

"Captain! Look! A storm!"

The pirates on the watchtower issued a piercing warning.

Aisha's eyes widened, and she muttered in disbelief, "This is already an icy sea area, how could there be a storm?!"

Todd caught up with Aisha and rushed to the bow of the ship to look up at the horizon. Thick, dark clouds, like spilled ink, swirled across the sky. Lightning, torrential rain, and hurricanes shattered the calm of the sea and hurtled towards the Black Pearl.

"That's impossible! There have never been any storms in this area!"

Feeling the suffocating wind pressure, Todd reminded Aisha, who was still in a daze, "Now is not the time to question! Get your crew ready for the storm!"

Biting her lower lip, Aisha turned around and looked at the bewildered crew, shouting, "Lower the sails! Prepare to row! Turn the rudder half a turn to port! Throw all the supplies and cargo in the hold into the sea!"

Todd grabbed Aisha: "If we throw away all that food and water, how will we get on our journey?"

The latter turned pale, pushed away the arm, shook his head and said, "The journey ahead? Let's figure out how to survive first!"
