Pei Xi had a dream. In her dream, Jiang Cheng, the cold, sharp, and reclusive poor school hottie, became the founder of a famous domestic gaming company years later.
He built a princess room ...
Jiang Cheng was completely stunned.
The two stared at each other silently for a long time.
“I think I’ve probably already dreamt about what you were dreaming about.” Pei Xi smiled helplessly, grabbed Jiang Cheng’s arm, and said softly in a coaxing tone, “So can you tell me what you dreamt about?”
Jiang Cheng swallowed hard.
He put down his spoon and bowl and straightened up.
After a while, he spoke with some embarrassment, "I dreamt... I took you to a house, and I seemed to want to..."
He seemed unable to continue, as if uttering those words would be a form of hurt to her.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, saying, "...I want to imprison you."
He immediately looked into Pei Xi's eyes, only to find that she showed no surprise or aversion.
She smiled at him as before.
“You didn’t hurt me,” Pei Xi said gently. “Besides, it was just a dream.”
"But aren't you scared..." Jiang Cheng lowered his head, his hands clenched into fists at his sides, veins bulging, and he murmured, "Don't you think I'm disgusting or sinister?"
Pei Xi shook his head.
She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist.
She pressed her forehead against his chest and gently rubbed it, a gesture that represented her boundless affection.
"All I know is that you will never hurt me."
"Whether in reality or in dreams."
"You love me all the time."
Pei Xi's voice was very soft, like a cloud drifting in from the horizon, gentle and tender.
"I'm sorry..." Jiang Cheng put his arm around her shoulder, his voice so low it was almost unbelievable.
He didn't know why those dreams existed, and he could distinguish between dreams and reality, but the realism in the dreams would frighten even him, let alone Pei Xi.
She must have been terrified when she first dreamed about it.
But she couldn't tell anyone, and could only bear this fear alone.
And all of this was caused by him.
He's such a jerk.
Jiang Cheng repeated softly, "I'm sorry, baby."
“I’ve already said it, we shouldn’t say sorry to each other.” Pei Xi hugged his waist tighter. “If I were to say sorry, then I would tell you, because I’ve been hiding this from you all this time.”
“Actually, I did think about telling you. I don’t want to keep this secret to myself.” She frowned, seemingly annoyed. “But this is just too bizarre. I don’t know how to bring it up.”
“Now you can tell me.” Jiang Cheng pulled her into his arms, his cheek nuzzling against the top of her head.
Pei Xi hummed in agreement, her voice soft and gentle, as she recounted her dream to him in its entirety.
Including the accident on the bridge.
Jiang Cheng's reaction was much calmer than she had expected.
He didn't show much emotion, he even smiled slightly, and touched her face, saying, "Now that you know about this, you've saved me."
Pei Xi nodded emphatically, his gaze serious. "Yes, even though that incident hasn't happened yet, I've already saved you."
She would never let the dream repeat itself.
"Thank you, baby." Jiang Cheng lowered his head, kissed her forehead tenderly, and sighed with a slight smile.
Pei Xi was sent by heaven to save him.
He confirmed it again.
His life was lived for her, and he existed for her.
He was very content.
He was willing and content.
