As soon as Tang Yue entered the kitchen, she saw Lin Cuicui chopping chicken on the cutting board, and Tang Yue's mouth immediately broke into a wide grin.

Lin Cuicui smiled, her eyes crinkling, "Okay! Yueyue, go outside and wait, Mom will be done soon."

Tang Yue didn't go out; instead, she stayed in the kitchen helping her mother tend the fire. "Mom, let me help you. I haven't cooked for you in so long."

Lin Cuicui's heart was truly warmed. Soon, various aromas wafted from the kitchen, making Tang Yue's mouth water.

She hadn't had a proper meal at home in a long time. Japanese food was so-so, passable. Russian food, on the other hand, was really bad; it was barely enough to fill her up.

Tang Yue is good at many things, but she has one major weakness: cooking. She's really not very good at it. However, she's not picky about food; as long as she's full, she's fine.

Tang Yue was like a busy little bee, darting around the kitchen. Lin Cuicui watched her little girl's lively antics, her eyes never leaving her with a smile.

How wonderful it would be if her daughter were by her side every day. But this little one is always running around, never home. Sigh, it's because she and her third brother are incompetent that such a young child has to shoulder the burden of supporting the family.

After finishing their meal, before Tang Yue could even speak, Lin Cuicui said, "Go to the army base; they probably need to talk to you there."

Tang Yue glanced at her mother, nodded, and then led the two away.

Before even leaving the family compound, Sun Jinan could no longer hold back, his voice choked with sobs, "Company Commander, Battalion Commander, he..."

"He's fine, he definitely won't die," Tang Yue replied to Sun Jinan as she walked forward.

Sun Jinan stopped speaking, his voice immediately choked up. Then he looked incredulously at the small figure walking forward, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. He quickly ran forward to catch up with Tang Yue.
