Chapter 609

Before Blackie and the Monkey King could react, they fell straight down, crashing into the rocks with a 'bang' before falling again.

With a 'crash,' the cliff was covered with hanging coffins. Due to their age, they were rotten and could no longer support the weight of two grown men. In an instant, they began to collapse like an avalanche.

Both of them were stunned and could only roll down the hanging coffin.

"Cough cough," the Great Sage Equaling Heaven felt as if his body had fallen apart, and he almost vomited blood. He climbed out of the dilapidated hanging coffin and, by the dim light of his flashlight, was horrified to find that he was surrounded by ancient corpses, like mummies. One of them was even crawling on his body, its withered head facing him, and its empty eye sockets seemed to be smiling.

This time, the Monkey King was truly terrified and almost collapsed, bursting into tears as despair began to set in.

"Cough cough," Blackie also crawled out of the pile of corpses, but still looked calm. Looking at the crying Monkey King, he said, "We can't give up until the very end. At least one of us has to get out of here."

"But can we still get out?"

"Perhaps," Blackie said in a low voice.

Then he reached out and snatched the flashlight from the Monkey King's hand, immediately turning it off. "The Blood Fiend is coming down. Quickly lie down under the ancient corpse and don't make a sound."

Upon hearing what Blackie said, the already exhausted Great Sage Equaling Heaven quickly stood up, dragged several ancient corpses down, and lay down beneath them. The corpses pressed down on him, and perhaps due to the panic, the head of one of the ancient corpses was almost touching his face. Although it was dark, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven still felt it and tried his best to endure it, because Blood Fiend was already approaching.

The thumping sound of the blood demon stopped beside the Great Sage Equaling Heaven. The strong stench almost made him vomit. Terrified, the blood demon began to grope several ancient corpses. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven's heart was in his throat.

However, it eventually walked away and jumped towards where Blackie was. This made the Great Sage Equal to Heaven breathe a sigh of relief. After a long while, he heard the Blood Fiend leap away. Not daring to be careless, he waited for a while longer and found nothing unusual before moving the ancient corpses off his body. He had even torn off the head of one of them, grabbed its hair, and spun it around twice. He quickly dropped it and whispered, "Blackie, how are you?"

"Blackie..."

There was no response in the darkness, and a sense of foreboding immediately arose. He groped his way to where Blackie had been hiding, only to find it empty. He was horrified, exclaiming, "Blackie is gone?"

"What should we do? Why did Blackie abandon me? Why did he do that?"

The Monkey King's mind was in turmoil, and it took him a long time to calm down. A glimmer of hope ignited in his heart, and he groped his way to the iron chain that had fallen onto the cliff face. He grabbed it and climbed up.

Just as he climbed up, the Blood Demon suddenly jumped out from below, its sharp claws slicing across the feet of the Great Sage Equaling Heaven. He was so frightened that he broke out in a cold sweat and desperately climbed upwards.

At this moment, Blood Fiend grabbed the iron chain again and began to pull violently. At this moment, he only had the desire to escape. His instinctive potential burst forth, and he finally climbed up. With a 'snap', the iron chain broke. He didn't care about anything else and ran away wildly.

He didn't know how far he had run, until he was completely exhausted. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. If he continued like this, he would either be scared to death or die from exhaustion. He was also starving. Calculating the time, he estimated that he had been in here for a day. It was already bright outside. At this moment, he could only pray in his heart that someone passing by this mountain would discover the ancient tomb here.

"Hey, there's a breeze?" The Monkey King, who was slumped on the ground, felt a chill as he sensed a cold wind blowing from his right. Without thinking twice, he crawled in the direction of the wind in the darkness.

After climbing a short distance, they saw faint lights ahead and were immediately overjoyed. "Could this be the exit?" they thought. Their spirits lifted, and they stood up and ran towards it.

With a 'thump,' he tripped over something and almost fell. Reaching out, he touched it and found an arm. Startled, he looked in the dim light and his face turned deathly pale. Under his feet was a severed arm, as if it had been torn off by some ferocious beast, with several sharp teeth marks on it. His hand was covered in blood.

In an instant, he understood what was going on, and had only one thought: to get out of there as soon as possible. He ran to the source of the light and found that it was a flashlight, the kind of miner's lamp used in underground work, which is why it was so durable. It was obviously the missing one of the helpers he had hired.

When he picked up the headlamp and shone it on the cave, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven felt like vomiting. It was a man-made cave, and the innermost blue stone coffin had been opened and was covered in blood. It was obvious that this stone coffin must have been the burial place of the Blood Fiend. It was opened by those people, and that's how the Blood Fiend jumped out.

The scene on the ground was horrific, with bloodstains everywhere. The dead man's internal organs were scattered all over the ground, his limbs were torn apart, and most of his body had been bitten off. Most horrifyingly, the man's head had been bitten off and was a bloody mess, with his eyes wide open.

Feeling his hair stand on end, the Monkey King trembled as he climbed up the passage behind him. After walking a short distance, the passage suddenly split into two, one leading to the left and the other to the right.

The Great Sage Equal to Heaven hesitated. The two exits were exactly the same, and it was impossible to tell which one the people had come from. After a moment, he made up his mind and simply chose one and went in.

They hadn't gone far when they heard a series of sounds ahead, as if someone was carrying something. The Monkey King quickly turned off his headlamp and tiptoed over.
