Chapter 33 Momo, Until We Meet Again

Shava held his gun directly at Pion. He didn't care who he was facing; anyone standing against Fu Yungui was an enemy under his gun.

Pi Weng was furious at the sight of these disrespectful bastards, but he knew that the bigger picture was more important, so he coldly addressed his heartless and unfilial son.

"Pasong, no matter how Momo has offended you, don't let a moment of impulse affect the relations between the two countries."

"Don't forget... your mother is also Chinese, and Momo is her compatriot."

"Do I need you to remind me?" Fu Yungui retorted.

Pi Weng secretly calmed his anger. He knew his bastard son well and knew that if he confronted him now, he would not be able to take Momo away today. He paused for a moment and spoke in a calm and steady voice, "Even if I beg you, let her go."

Momo felt a pang of sadness as she listened to Grandpa Pi humbly pleading for her and his son.

“Grandpa…” She felt guilty for letting an elder help her like this.

Pi Weng waved to her with a smile, signaling her not to speak at that moment.

Fu Yungui smiled and said, "Okay, you said it would affect relations between the two countries, I'll try to understand."

"But even so, since you've already asked me, your son, for a favor, how could I not give you face?"

Fu Yungui tossed the person to Anu and walked towards Piweng.

"But I think you should know my son, right? Even if you don't, it's okay. I can tell you now. I never do anything that doesn't make me a profit."

As he spoke, he moved closer to Pi Weng and said lightly.

"Then the Chinese market is mine."

Pierre looked up at his son. His business in China wasn't very large, so giving it to him wouldn't be a problem. But why was he making such a fuss over something so small?

Pi Weng found it all somewhat unbelievable.

"Okay." He really didn't understand his son's thinking, but fearing he might change his mind, he readily agreed. After all, that part of the business originally belonged to his mother, so giving it to him now was like returning it to its rightful owner.

"Okay, I hope you keep your word."

"Of course." Pion's voice was firm and resolute; the feeling of being distrusted by his own son was truly unbearable.

Fu Yungui glanced at Anu with a smile, "Release them."

Anu immediately released the woman in his arms; he hadn't expected his boss to let her go so easily. After breaking free, Momo rushed over and hugged Fu Qiyu, bursting into tears.

"Don't be afraid, Momo." Fu Qiyu thought she was terrified and patted her back repeatedly to comfort her.

She noticed that Momo's clothes were also strange when she got off the bus, and she immediately became suspicious of Momo's words that she had said she was going to buy souvenirs that morning, but she didn't want to ask anything at the moment.

Fu Yungui turned back and walked towards the helicopter. Momo was leaning on Fu Qiyu's shoulder, looking directly at his face. As he brushed past the two of them, he reached out and pinched her cheek, leaned down and smiled deeply at her face. Then he even deliberately imitated the tone of Fu Qiyu's voice when he called her name.

"Momo, we'll meet again."

After saying that, he let go of her hand, put his hands in his pockets, and walked towards the helicopter.

Momo trembled as she listened to his cold, stern voice. These words, laced with a strong threat, had haunted her dreams ever since she returned to China, just like the man himself, a persistent ghost.

Sawa flew away in his helicopter, and Momo stood there watching the plane disappear into the distance, her eyes reddening.

"Grandpa, thank you for coming to save me. I really can't repay this kindness."

Momo knew that the life-saving grace she felt at this moment could not be expressed in simple words, especially since he had humbled himself before her son for her sake. But at this moment, she had no better way than to express her gratitude.

“Child, you’re too kind. If anyone should say anything, it’s me who should be telling you. It’s my fault for not raising him properly, which is why he has caused you so much harm.” As he spoke, Pi Weng couldn’t help but reach out and touch her hair to comfort her.

He had always believed that today's farce was a carefully orchestrated scheme by Fu Yungui to target him, and had nothing to do with anyone else.

“This has nothing to do with you, I’ve never thought of it that way,” Momo said.

“Whatever happened is in the past. As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters. We’ll take you to the airport first, otherwise we’ll be late,” Pion said.

“Yes, let’s go to the airport first,” Fu Qiyu added.

She had originally planned to let Momo stay here for a few more days, but now it seems safer for her to return to China. Otherwise, there's no guarantee that something might go wrong if she stays even one more day.

She felt that something must have happened between her uncle and Momo that she didn't know about; it was a very complicated situation.

Once she's safely back in China, she'll have a proper talk with Momo.

"Okay." Momo didn't say anything more and got into the car.

Pi Weng told the driver to drive very fast, and they arrived at the airport entrance in about ten minutes. The driver took her luggage in first, and Momo hugged and said goodbye to Grandpa Pi Weng and Qi Qi.

“Go, child, have a safe journey,” Pion said.

"I will. Goodbye, Grandpa. Goodbye, Qiqi."

Momo waved goodbye to them, then turned and ran inside. It was less than an hour before the plane was scheduled to take off.

[Attention passengers, flight PG281 from Pattaya to Beijing is about to depart. Passengers who have not yet boarded, please proceed to gate 16 as soon as possible.]

The announcer's voice came from above the waiting area, first in Thai, then in English.

Momo's hand, clutching the plane ticket, trembled uncontrollably until she saw the flight attendant smile and welcome her, at which point she began to feel a little bit of reality.

Half an hour later, the plane accelerated and taxied on the runway on time before taking off into the air.

Fu Yungui was sitting in the car, leaning against the window, casually watching the plane fly straight up into the clouds until it disappeared completely.

He stubbed out his cigarette and had Anu drive away.

More than five hours later, when the announcement came from above that the plane had entered Chinese territory, Momo's heart, which had been hanging in suspense the whole way, finally relaxed. She took a deep breath, and the air was filled with the scent of freedom.

Finally, she was free from the nightmare and could start a normal life again.

After getting off the plane, Momo received a message from her mother as soon as she turned on her phone. The message said that guests had come to the house and she couldn't come to pick her up, but the food was already prepared and she was just waiting for Uncle Zhang to pick her up so she could eat.

As Momo looked at the words above, her nose tingled slightly. Sitting in the car on her way home, she sent Qiqi a message saying she had arrived home safely. Then she opened the car window and let the wind blow through her, trying to forget all her thoughts about Thailand.

Thankfully, she returned safely.

"Momo, we've arrived."

The car had been stopped for a while, and Uncle Zhang saw that she was still sitting there in a daze, so he spoke up to remind her.

"Oh, okay."

She quickly gathered her thoughts and went downstairs.

After crossing the yard and entering the dining room, the air was filled with the familiar aroma of food, but she didn't see anyone in the living room, so she called out from a distance, "Mom, I'm home."
