The administrator, who had just woken up and was yawning, came to patrol. When he arrived at the sixth floor where everyone was, he saw them sleeping in the corridor and kindly reminded them, "You'll catch a cold if you sleep here!"
Takagi pushed open the door and bumped into the Mediterranean-looking security guard. The guard was somewhat surprised to see Takagi coming out of the Higashida residence: "Did you stay up all night investigating a case?"
Takagi didn't sleep all night, but she was very excited: "Yes, thanks to your help this time, all the mysteries have been solved."
The administrator was happy to be able to help the police, while Miwako rubbed her sleepy eyes and complained, "Why hasn't Takagi met up with me yet?"
Fortunately, the convenience store was open 24 hours a day, so Miwako wasn't kicked out.
After searching all night, the police finally got a tiny bit of information: someone said they saw a group of people, one of whom looked a lot like Takagi.
Inspector Megure's expression was serious, but he looked tired: "Where's Sato? Is she with Takagi?"
To Inspector Megure's disappointment, the person who looked very much like Takagi was accompanied by a group of kids.
Upon hearing that it was a group of kids, Inspector Megure's pent-up frustration from not sleeping all night exploded: "What the hell? Have you ever seen a police officer chasing a suspect with kids by his side? There must be a mistake, look for someone else!"
After listening to the phone conversation, Shiratori, who had been driving all night, also had a guess: "Which one, Inspector Megure, those kids might be Conan from Detective Mouri's studio, Mitsuyuki, and their Detective Boys."
Inspector Megure thought it was possible, but if this guess was correct, then Miwako, whom he hadn't been able to contact, might really have been imprisoned by the suspect.
At this point, Shiratori's eyes burned with anger: "Miwako!"
Children need sleep, and Ayumi and her two friends looked tired. Takagi wanted to kindly let them go home to sleep and get rid of these "cute" kids, but the three refused, seeing right through Takagi's plan.
Guangyou realized he was out of lollipops and suggested, "Let's go to the convenience store and buy some snacks!"
When it comes to food, Genta is very enthusiastic.
Upon arriving at the convenience store, Kōyū bought a few lollipops, while the others bought sandwiches. Takagi wanted to pick out a salmon sandwich, and just as he reached out his hand, he heard the voice he had been longing for behind him.
"Officer Takagi? You remembered me after all?"
Takagi's outstretched hand suddenly stopped, and he slowly turned around with an apologetic smile, "Sorry, sorry, we were investigating last night."
"So what did the investigation find out?" Miwako asked, still a little annoyed.
When the case was mentioned, Takagi immediately became serious: "Most of the mysteries have been solved, and Mr. Higashida's suspicion has been basically eliminated. Now we just need to find the murderer."
Dongtian was thrilled. Finally, his suspicion was cleared, and once the murderer was caught, he could catch a plane to find his daughter.
"Alright! Let's go!" Miwako heard that most of the mystery had been solved and was ready to catch the murderer in one fell swoop.
After saying that, he pulled Takagi out of the convenience store.
As Takagi watched the sandwich recede into the distance, silent tears streamed down her face: "My sandwich!"
The children had already bought their things and were following behind Miwako.
I went to a nearby department store to investigate, and the results confirmed everyone's guesses.
Time was still running out, so Takagi made a decision: "Officer Sato, you take Mr. Higashida to the airport first."
"But..."
Takagi knew what Miwako was going to say. The culprit hadn't been caught yet, and it would be against the rules to release Higashida first. However, time was running out, and if they delayed any longer, Higashida might miss his flight and be unable to attend his daughter's wedding.
Miwako hesitated for a moment, then nodded and took Higashida to the airport.
The team searching for the murderer arrived at the home of Higashida's colleague, Kitagawa.
Kitagawa's behavior was relatively normal when he first opened the door and realized it was a police officer. However, as soon as Takagi asked about the case, Kitagawa got angry. He didn't want to answer Takagi's questions and directly recounted the details of the case as he described it. After finishing, he tried to close the door.
Takagi held the door open, wanting to ask more questions, but Kitagawa snapped, "Do you think I'm the murderer?"
"If you're not the murderer, then who is?" Guangyou looked at Kitagawa with some disgust: "Long face, small eyes, bowl cut, you don't look like a good person."
Of course, Guangyou doesn't usually judge people by their appearance, but this hairstyle reminded him of a so-called internet celebrity from his past life, which he found hard to accept.
Takagi quickly tried to cover Kōyū's mouth: "Kōyū, don't talk nonsense."
Kitagawa's attitude grew increasingly hostile: "Who are these brats? If you bother me, believe me, I'll sue you for harassment!"
Ayumi and the other two said in unison, "We are the Junior Detective League, and there is no mystery in the world that we cannot solve!"
"Alright, stop bothering me. Judging from the situation at the scene, there's no way I could be the murderer." Kitagawa suppressed his anger.
"What's so annoying? Is it annoying to find you, the murderer?" Guangyou knew he should be more polite, but the more he looked at this hairstyle, the more uncomfortable he felt. "If it wasn't you, why did you change the color of the sheets and curtains? It was you, wasn't it?"
Seemingly having his facts pointed out, Kitagawa grabbed Takagi by the collar: "Hey, listen to me carefully, if you don't take these inexplicable brats away, in addition to harassment, I'm also going to sue you for defamation!"
Guangyou's mouth was like it had been filled with gunpowder: "What nonsense! Honestly admit your crimes, and if you do, it'll count as you turning yourself in!"
"You little brat!" Kitagawa really wanted to beat up the seemingly cute brat in front of him.
