Chapter 88: First Meeting in the Capital

Jiang You stuck the skull head out of the car window again.

The stone walls of the royal capital are tall and thick, surrounding the city like an impregnable fortress. Outside the walls is a deep moat, and the city gate itself is a lowered drawbridge. At the gate, several teams of knights are checking the identities of those entering the city.

"What are they investigating?" As an ordinary citizen, Jiangyou was naturally in awe of the officers. Seeing their alert posture, he subconsciously shrank his head.

Andrei couldn't help but laugh. The low laugh rolled in his throat like a dull thunder. "Don't worry, we're not trying to arrest you. It's just a normal city gate sentry. Just show me the token I gave you."

The carriages joined the long procession entering the city, following the vehicles ahead. Fortunately, the procession was swift, and it wasn't long before their turn arrived. The Kingdom Knight at the city gate saluted Andrei, "Deputy Captain Andrei, welcome back."

"Tick, long time no see." Andrei obviously knew this knight. "How is everything going in the capital lately?"

"Everything is normal." Tik glanced at the carriage: "Is there anyone in the carriage?"

"They are our people." Andre said. Jiang You stuck his head out of the car window, smiled and waved his bone claws.

The Kingdom Knight Tik, who was guarding the gate, was obviously startled. He jumped back suddenly, his hand subconsciously moving to the hilt of his sword, and exclaimed in surprise: "Skull, skeleton?! No, it's a lich?"

Andre coughed lightly, and Tik raised his eyes to look in Andre's direction, finally remembering that this skeleton was also "one of their own".

"The capital is different from the West City of Eston. The people here are afraid of death and are wary of undead magical creatures like liches."

"Oh oh!" Jiang You thought for a moment, took off her head, and searched for the rope inside. Sure enough, she found a bright green ribbon. It should be one of the little gadgets she had found in the pile of junk in the brewing workshop and stuffed into her head for emergency use. The bright dark green color reminded her of the knight's green eyes.

"Let's take this one." Jiangyou was very skillful. He passed the ribbon through the hole on the token in a few seconds and tied a beautiful bow for himself. The token hung under the bow like a small pendant.

She put her head back and looked at her reflection in the glass window again, nodded with satisfaction, and then leaned out of the open window to take in the scenery of the royal capital.

This is a metropolis that is completely different from the West City of Eston. The streets are spacious and clean, with shops lined up on both sides, luxurious mansions can be seen everywhere, and the beautiful buildings make Jiangyou feel like he has come to a scenic spot.

"Over there is a library with the most comprehensive collection of books in the country. Their magical collection is in no way inferior to the private collections of the great wizards at the Royal School of Magic. Across the street is the Royal Grand Opera House. "Wow, I want to go to all these places!" Jiang You said. She has always loved visiting museums. Even though she couldn't go there in person before, she has seen all the online cloud exhibitions without missing a single one!

"Okay, I'll take you there." Andre agreed with a smile.

Go further and you will reach a crossroads.

"This horizontal road runs through five districts, circling the city. To the right is the market district, where merchants gather, bringing together goods from all over the country and the world.

"To the left is the fighting area, a paradise for knights, warriors, and adventurers. It houses workshops for metal tools and weapons, a horse market, armor vendors, and dueling arenas. Black markets and underground casinos are also hidden within.

"Front is the Moon Worship Cult's cathedral and palace. We're heading to the cathedral now."

"Hmm? Let's go to the cathedral first?" Jiang You tilted his head, looking confused.

"Yes, let's go see my mother first," Andre said.

"Ah, do I need to dress up?" Jiang You scurried into the carriage and pulled out her light yellow dress from her luggage. "Is this okay for me to wear?"

"Sure." Andre's tone was particularly gentle. "My mother doesn't care much about appearance. She always sees the inner qualities of a person. She is a very good person. You will like her."
