To recover his memory and life, Xu Keke enters various eras to start a counterattack journey to demand justice for the resentful side characters of era novels.
Rehabilitation is non-existent,...
After school that evening, Cheng Yi and Xiao Han didn't go with Xu Keke. They were kept behind by the teacher.
There's an unwritten rule at this school for second-year high school students: teachers will stay after school to tutor high-achieving students, in preparation for their final year of high school and subsequent class reshuffles.
At the school gate, Xu Keke pushed Li Bo's bicycle for him. She watched as he ran to Jiang Xiaofei's side and said something to her. Jiang Xiaofei glanced at her every now and then.
Suddenly, Jiang Xiaofei stomped her foot, turned around, and ran away with her schoolbag on her back.
Based on what Li Bo said at noon today, and seeing his nonchalant attitude now, Xu Keke didn't find it strange at all.
This guy has a bit of a knack for things between men and women, but only a little, not much.
Xu Keke returned the car to Li Bo and skillfully jumped into the back seat.
"You girls are such a hassle, so timid, and you cry at the slightest thing. But you're quite different from them. I never noticed before, but now I see..."
Li Bo rode his bicycle ahead, rambling on and on.
Xu Keke, however, stared at the van that suddenly appeared behind them. Although it wasn't driving fast, it still overtook them and drove past them.
A short while later, it reappeared from behind. After repeating this several times, Xu Keke was basically certain that it was circling around them.
Xu Keke guessed that the car was probably aimed at Li Bo. In this day and age, someone who could use a car to harm others must have an extraordinary background. The original owner was probably just an innocent bystander.
The bicycle suddenly stopped. Xu Keke grabbed Li Bo's waist to keep from being thrown off.
The van behind them overtook them again and drove away.
Xu Keke jumped out of the car and glanced at the people surrounding them. There were eight people in total, all burly and with solemn eyes. They were neither fierce nor menacing. They looked like they had received specialized training.
They didn't seem like street thugs. Their clothes were just ordinary, and it was impossible to tell where they came from.
Without a word, these people immediately lifted Li Bo off his bicycle. Li Bo wasn't short, but compared to these men, he was still half a head shorter.
They pulled him into the alley next door.
Li Bo couldn't break free at all. "Who are you? What do you want? Do you know who my father is? What do you want?"
Xu Keke followed behind, somewhat speechless. This Li Bo isn't very bright; it's obvious they're here to see you, and you're asking them if they know who your father is. Isn't that obvious?
Xu Keke felt somewhat relieved; the van probably wasn't coming for her.
The reason she had Li Bo pick her up from school was not only because she wanted to torment him, but also because she was worried that the van was after the original owner of this body.
She noticed yesterday that when she was with Li Bo, the car passed by them, but unlike in her previous life, it didn't crash directly into them.
"Go away! What are you doing following me?" Li Bo shouted angrily at Xu Keke as he struggled to get away.
"She's my classmate, we don't get along, don't mess with her. If you have the guts, come at me."
Hearing what Li Bo said to those people, Xu Keke rolled her eyes. It was as if he wanted everyone to notice him.
If she didn't know he was a bit of a goofball, she would have rushed up and punched him after hearing just those few words.
These people were clearly targeting him alone, and judging from their expressions, they were probably just trying to scare him and didn't really intend to do anything to him.
Sure enough, the man ignored Xu Keke completely. He dragged Li Bo to a secluded spot, surrounded him, and beat him up.
Then he walked away.
Xu Keke stepped forward to help him up; Li Bo's face was bruised and swollen from the beating. His lip was even broken.
"Why didn't you leave? Didn't I tell you to leave?"
"I'm afraid they'll beat you to death!" Xu Keke checked his injuries.
Li Bo, however, was quite resilient. He even grinned at her with a crooked mouth, saying, "I was just worried that you would do what you did yesterday and fight with them again. You're smart."
Xu Keke was taken aback; she thought he would blame her for not helping him.
Seeing that he was walking with a slight limp, Xu Keke took his arm, puzzled.
I just examined his injuries; they look severe, but those people clearly knew where they were going. They obviously chose their targets.
What happened to your leg?
"It's nothing. When they were pushing me, someone tripped me and I twisted my ankle."
Li Bo, grimacing, grabbed Xu Keke's arm and hopped out on one leg.
"If only that cripple Cheng Yi were here!"
Xu Keke didn't understand what he meant. "What's so good about him? He can't fight for you."
"He's here, ask him to lend me one of his canes."
Xu Keke almost pushed him away. "He'll never lend you money again. Have you forgotten what you did in the bathroom that day?"
"So what? We men don't hold grudges. Besides, I didn't hit him. I was just trying to scare him. It's his fault for always hanging out with Xiao Fei. I just can't stand his pretentious act."
"It's just that his leg is crippled now. If he were still in his first year of high school, when his leg was still okay, I would have already taken action."
"You deserve a beating." Seeing that he wasn't seriously injured, Xu Keke left him there. "You can hop away on your own. I'll wait for you outside."
"Ugh..." Li Bo said angrily, "Are all you girls blind? What's so good about a cripple like him? You're all protecting him."
Ignoring his grumbling behind her, Xu Keke walked out of the alley.
Li Bo's bicycle was still lying on the roadside. She picked it up and looked around. Sure enough, she didn't see the van anymore.
Half a day later, Li Bo finally came out. He wasn't completely stupid. He even found a broken stick inside and used it to help him out.
Xu Keke got on her bicycle and glanced back, saying, "Get on!"
"I'm a grown man... how can I let you carry me?" Li Bo looked at her with difficulty. "Besides, I'm so heavy, you can't possibly carry me!"
"Fine, I'll sit here and wait for you. I'll tell you where we live, and you can go to our house and call someone over for me."
Xu Keke frowned and said impatiently, "Alright, stop dawdling and come on up. They'll come back if they don't get enough of the fight later!"
Although Li Bo knew that Xu Keke was saying that on purpose, he was already traumatized by her displeased attitude. He didn't dare argue and instinctively obeyed her, sitting in the back seat.
Xu Keke wasn't joking with him. Although the group of people had only given him a token beating, the original owner of this body had actually been killed by that van.
Leaving Li Bo here might cause some trouble. It's better to take him with me.
Li Bo's home wasn't far away; it was a three-story detached house. Sending Li Bo back made Xu Keke break out in a sweat.
Li Bo invited her in to sit down, but Xu Keke refused outright.
Li Bo grabbed her, preventing her from leaving, and urged a young man who came out of the room to drive Xu Keke home.
