Chapter 54: Deliberately Making Things Difficult

Jiang Yuan could clearly feel that other people in the team were rejecting her. At lunch time, others would gather in groups to eat in the cafeteria downstairs, but she would often look up and find that she was the only one left in the office.

Jiang Yuan hesitated for a moment before politely saying, "Sister Lin, I've discovered a suspicious account and need to check all of the other company's R&D projects from last year. Could you please send me a copy?"

Sister Lin slowly shifted her gaze from the computer screen, glanced at her, and asked coldly, "What R&D project?"

Jiang Yuan stood up from her workstation. "It's a bit suspicious since there's no specific project. The R&D cost is probably around five million."

As soon as she finished speaking, the other party turned his gaze back to the computer screen and said nothing more.

Jiang Yuan thought Sister Lin was probably retrieving information from the database, so she leaned slightly towards her and waited patiently.

Five minutes passed, and Sister Lin still hadn't responded. Jiang Yuan became anxious and asked again, "Sister Lin? Did you find out?"

The other party seemed to suddenly come to his senses, looked at her in surprise, and raised his voice, "Check what? You expect me to help you check the accounts?"

She added with a half-smile, "No, if you can't figure out the accounts, go ask Director Yang. Did you assign someone from the technical department to help you check the accounts? Have you been working too much overtime lately and your mind is confused?"

In the quiet office, her voice seemed extremely abrupt, and people around her looked over one after another.

Jiang Yuan held her breath and patiently explained, "You misunderstood. I just need you to send me all the R&D projects from last year so I can check them myself."

"You were just asking me, 'Have you found out?' Did I hear you wrong?"

"Isn't that what she asked me just now?"

The female colleague next to Sister Lin, who was also from the technical department, looked up at Jiang Yuan and said, "That's what you asked just now."

Jiang Yuan suddenly felt speechless and stunned for two seconds. She took a deep breath and said calmly, "I used the wrong word. I'm sorry. Now, please just send me all the R&D projects and I'll check them myself."

Sister Lin glanced at her, turned back, and said lightly, "I don't care if Director Yang wants to go. The technical department has already provided the necessary information. You think we are just doing odd jobs in the technical department, with nothing to do but serve you every other day. We have a lot of things to do here. Can you help us with it?"

Jiang Yuan stood there in a daze, her face flushed.

The female colleague from the technical department next to her looked up at her and said with a half-smile, "Director Yang isn't here today, right? Why don't you give him a call? If you call him, he'll definitely come right over."

Jiang Yuan felt furious, and his expression suddenly darkened. "What do you mean?"

"Literally."

The woman and Sister Lin beside her looked at each other with a smile.

Everyone around smiled but said nothing.
