Gentle, rational, and inwardly strong gong (Jiang Xu) vs. genius, madman, emotionally stunted shou (Gu Li).
Jiang Xu was reborn, and coincidentally, the person he was reborn as was also named...
The two left the amusement park as darkness fell. They ate at the restaurant Jiang Xu had booked that evening. Gu Li felt a bit stuffed, just as Jiang Xu had said. They had a good meal together.
Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li, who was leaning back in her chair, and asked, "Are you full?"
Gu Li nodded, "A little more and we'll be stuffed."
Jiang Xu nodded, and said thoughtfully, "That's good."
Gu Li immediately noticed the slight change in Jiang Xu's expression. "Is something wrong, Jiang Xu?" he asked jokingly, his words mumbled.
Jiang Xu nodded frankly, "Yes, I have something to do." He looked Gu Li up and down, then smiled and said, "It's good that you're full." The implication became even more obvious.
Gu Li understood now. He sat up, propped his chin on his hand, and looked at the person opposite him. "Are you waiting for me to feed you, baby?" he said calmly, as if it were a casual conversation.
Jiang Xu stood ramrod straight, looking every bit the gentleman. "I've fed you, so I should collect some interest from you, right?" he said, as if he were a businessman negotiating.
Gu Li's eyes flickered, then a bright smile appeared. "Then of course I'll grant your wish."
They each held their own version of events, using a mix of hints and explicit statements, neither willing to back down nor yield an inch.
Jiang Xu folded the napkin and gently tucked it under the glass. His movements were elegant and serious. After finishing, he looked up at Gu Li and said, "Let's go for a walk back to digest our food, shall we?"
The conversation quickly returned to its usual casual tone, and Gu Li nodded readily, "Okay, it's time to digest." His words seemed to have a deeper meaning, yet also seemed like a casual response.
Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Li, a handsome smile appearing on his lips. He stood up and extended his hand to Gu Li, "Let's go, Gu Li."
Jiang Xu chose a restaurant that was conveniently located close to their residence, making it a perfect spot for the two of them to stroll back.
The good weather during the day continued into the night, with a pleasant temperature and a quiet atmosphere due to the lack of wind.
The moon was very bright tonight, its gentle light spreading across the ground and illuminating the surroundings. As they walked beside the bushes, the faint scent of grass and trees filled their nostrils, refreshing and pleasant.
Gu Li looked up at the sky. The moon was accompanied by countless stars, making the sky exceptionally beautiful. "Do you think it's better tonight or daytime?"
Gu Li suddenly asked a question out of the blue, and Jiang Xu seriously considered how to answer. After thinking for a while, he said, "Last night was good, and today is good both day and night. Every day is probably different."
Gu Li's gaze shifted to Jiang Xu. He heard Jiang Xu's answer clearly, but he was somewhat surprised. The answer was vague yet detailed. He was first moved. He took a deep breath and felt that the air was particularly refreshing, which made his scalp tingle. "Well, I hadn't thought about it before, but now I think it's just like you said."
Jiang Xu joked, "To celebrate this fine weather, let's invite Gu to recite a poem."
Gu Li frowned and looked at Jiang Xu with a puzzled expression.
Jiang Xu: "How about we sing a song?"
Gu Li, “…” What kind of poetry recitation is this? But after a moment of silence, he said, “Let’s first invite Jiang to set an example for everyone. Where’s the applause?” He clapped his hands lightly, “Here, here.”
Jiang Xu watched as the people around him put on a convincing performance and couldn't stop laughing. He laughed so hard that he bent over. "Ha...hahahaha," he said, pulling on Gu Li's arm to steady himself. "You..." He was laughing so hard that he couldn't speak.
At this moment, Gu Li suddenly became extremely considerate. He patted the person's back to help them catch their breath, and said, "Slow down your laughter, don't rush, don't rush. No one is going to take it from you. You can finish laughing. Keep going."
He said this, but his hand movements were unusually gentle, which seemed somewhat disjointed.
Jiang Xu took a breath, stopped laughing, stood up straight, and looked at Gu Li beside him. Gu Li's hand patted Jiang Xu's back out of the way. Seeing that Jiang Xu had stood up and stopped laughing, he spoke again, "Wow, see? I told you you could finish laughing. Jiang, you're great."
Jiang Xu pulled Gu Li's hand back from clapping again, and flicked Gu Li's forehead with his other hand. "Back to normal, Gu."
Gu Li glanced at Jiang Xu and said with a hint of dissatisfaction, "Alright, alright, classmate."
Jiang Xu realized that Gu Li wasn't happy with the term "classmate" and had repeated it several times. "Let's go home quickly."
Just as Gu Li was about to say something, Jiang Xu spoke up, "What do you think, boyfriend?"
Hearing the clear word "boyfriend" in his ear, Gu Li immediately felt relieved. He stretched his arms and said, "Your boyfriend thinks it's okay."
As they walked, their shoulders would occasionally brush against each other. At these moments, they would look at each other in tacit understanding. The light from the streetlights cast beautiful shadows on their faces and behind them. They would smile at each other and continue walking.
When they reached the door, Gu Li leaned against the wall and watched Jiang Xu open it. His gaze slowly swept over Jiang Xu, sizing him up from head to toe. Gu Li had never thought that looking at someone would make him feel good, but now he really did.
Jiang Xu pushed the door open to look at Gu Li next to him, only to find the man leaning against the wall in a daze. He waved his hand in front of the man, but before he could wave it twice, Gu Li caught his hand. Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu lazily and said, "I know you have nice hands, but showing them off like this is too obvious."
Jiang Xu used this action to lead Gu Li inside, saying, "I just saw some people spacing out and not knowing to come in, so I kindly reminded them. If it were someone else, I would have left them outside."
As Gu Li entered the room with the other person, he casually closed the door behind him. "Who is it?" He felt that he was becoming more and more skilled at closing the door.
Jiang Xu led the person to the dining table and casually said, "Like Zhang San or Li Si," he pressed Gu Li's shoulder to make him sit down, "Let me pour you a glass of water, and then you can rest."
Gu Li grabbed Jiang Xu's wrist. "So early? I can't sleep, Jiang Xu."
Jiang Xu looked at the person leaning back in the chair. "Really?" He felt his wrist being rubbed, slightly itchy, but he was also getting used to it. "Then what should we do?"
Gu Li smiled and revealed his purpose, "Maybe if someone sleeps with me, I can fall asleep." He looked up at Gu Li, his thoughts obvious.
Looking down from this angle, Jiang Xu saw Gu Li smiling exceptionally gently, his eyes revealing a hint of innocence and grievance, making one want to pat his head. Thinking this, he did just that. "Looks like I don't have to sneak out tonight." Feeling the softness in his hand, he had only one thought in his mind: So obedient.
Gu Li let go of her hand. "Then I'll wait for my water." As he finished speaking, he raised his hand to cover another yawn.
Jiang Xu frowned slightly as he watched Gu Li try to cover up her actions, then walked towards the kitchen.
