A meeting filled with wails and howls draws two completely different people into each other's lives with irresistible force.
Those who thought they would never cross paths again meet agai...
I love you, don't cry.
Chu Sinian blinked, and a crystal tear wet the letter paper, falling onto Nian Nian's ink.
He wiped his face, picked up the yellow rose, and placed it on the table in the hall.
Chu Sinian held a petal between his fingertips, gently plucked it, and placed it on the envelope.
He had actually been indulging Chen Chi all along, from his confession on the day they first met at Chen Chi's house, to the subsequent monitoring after his discharge from the hospital. He made concessions step by step, giving Chen Chi more freedom to occupy.
What else could he say?
Is it acceptable then but unacceptable now?
Will making a scene really force Chen Chi to compromise? Perhaps, but Chu Sinian once solemnly promised to treat Chen Chi well and love him properly. Has Chu Sinian actually kept his word?
He stroked the envelope, then turned and headed for the door.
Chu Sinian stood in the center of the door and gently tapped it open.
"Year after year".
The voice coming from behind the door was muffled and low, as if it were calling a bird very carefully.
Chu Sinian leaned against the wall without moving. He knew that the person was standing opposite him, waiting silently.
"Year after year, I love you."
Chu Sinian turned his head and looked at his fingertips. The voice from behind the door was a little louder and much clearer: "I love you, don't cry."
All the anger and harsh words were swallowed down.
Chu Sinian grasped the doorknob and opened the door halfway. Chen Chi hesitated and walked in from behind the door, staring at him.
Chu Sinian closed the door, turned his face away, and showed no intention of speaking to him.
Chen Chi said, "I have made an appointment with the doctor, and he will come to see me tomorrow."
Chu Sinian was taken aback, and said in a muffled voice, "You don't resist?"
Chen Chi said, "It's okay, I'm fine now, you won't be in pain anymore."
Chu Sinian hooked his little finger around his finger. "I'll go with you."
Chen Chi pursed his lips, stretched out his arms to hug him, and said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry."
Chu Sinian hugged him back, feeling the icy aura emanating from him, which made Chu Sinian shiver.
Chen Chi frowned, stepped back slightly, and asked, "Are you cold?"
Before Chu Sinian could answer, Chen Chi went to the coat rack in the hall, picked up the coat that Chu Sinian had hung up, and hurriedly came over to put it on him. "Is the heating in here not enough? Let's go to another hotel."
Chu Sinian pulled him back, "No, you're cold."
He chuckled and said, "The hotel my assistant booked for us is the best we can get, so how could it not have heating?"
Chen Chi's eyes widened in surprise, and he asked softly, "You're not angry anymore?"
Chu Sinian took his hand, and the moment his fingers touched his skin, the cold finger bones burrowed into his palm. This was the first time he had ever seen Chen Chi's hand so cold.
"I'm not angry anymore."
Chen Chi lingered over his hand, then withdrew it, saying, "I'm cold." He took off his coat and placed it on the chair, rubbing his hands together vigorously and breathing on them to warm them up. "I'll hold your hand later."
Chu Sinian found it amusing, and looked up at him from the recliner, saying, "Exercise will make you faster."
There was a treadmill in the suite, but Chen Chi glanced at it without using it. He then turned to Chu Sinian and asked, "I have a meeting tomorrow morning, both online and in person, in Vancouver. I can see a doctor at noon, and then fly to Japan in the afternoon to discuss supply. How long do you need to stay?"
Chu Sinian originally planned to stay for two days and then leave. Tomorrow is the third day. He wonders how the research in the lab is going.
He took out his phone and texted the other party to ask for details.
If there is clear progress, he stays; if not, he flies back.
"We'll talk about it tomorrow," Chu Sinian replied.
Chen Chi walked to his side, slowly bent down and knelt down, his well-fitting suit creating some wrinkles, and his muscular physique bulging under his black suit trousers.
He took Chu Sinian's hand, lowered his head and gently rubbed his forehead against it. "We're still a couple, right?"
Chu Sinian curled his fingertips, and Chen Chi's hunched back trembled. He said cautiously, "You said we would be together forever."
Chu Sinian covered his forehead, forcing Chen Chi to look up at him.
Chu Sinian's eyes were full of calm, and the light reflected in his eyes shattered into stars. "Is it because I didn't give you enough security that you distrust me and took such extreme measures to fill the void?"
Chen Chi turned his head and let his soft palm slide to the side of his face, rubbing against him with great affection, "It's not your fault, Niannian."
Chu Sinian didn't think so. He wanted to withdraw his hand, but Chen Chi followed him and moved closer to his face, placing his hands on either side of the recliner and looking at him with absolute control.
Then she leaned down and poked his soft cheek with the tip of her high nose, "Did you cry when I wasn't around?"
"No."
Chen Chi noticed a damp spot on the envelope, and the slight curve of his nose gently brushed against Chu Sinian's nose. He stuck out his tongue and licked Chu Sinian's upper lip, running it around the lip line.
Chen Chi's voice was a little hoarse, "I won't make you cry again."
Chu Sinian remained skeptical.
He turned his head away, not wanting to look at Chen Chi, his slightly parted lips glistening with moisture.
Chen Chi stared at his mouth, then took the soft flesh of his cheek into his mouth and sucked on it, the force as light as if he were licking a piece of tofu. "Niannian, I was so scared when you were throwing a tantrum today."
He held Chu Sihou's head in his palm, his five fingers running through his black hair. With his other hand around Chu Sihou's shoulder, he lowered his head to Chu Sihou's ear, looking pitiful. "I'm afraid you won't want me."
“Tell him, we’re not a couple, Nian Nian.”
Chu Sinian, who had remained unmoved until now, frowned slightly and tried to push him up a little, "You can't tell what I'm saying in anger?"
"I wasn't just saying this out of anger, but you're licking and biting me here, molesting me. Are you in heat?"
Some word seemed to touch a nerve with Chen Chi, causing him to suddenly sit up and stare at Chu Sinian with his dark eyes, deeply suppressing something.
Chu Sinian propped himself up with his hands, encircling his neck, his forearms folded over his shoulders. His beautiful eyes, still slightly red, gazed at him, his tone indifferent, "Couples always make up before they get out of bed. Do you want to give it a try?"
Chen Chi stared at him, his expression suddenly blank. He reached under his sweater and touched a warm, thin piece of his belly. Chu Sinian trembled, but his hand didn't stop. It continued to move upwards, pressing his thumb down.
Chu Sinian's pupils contracted sharply, and he instinctively tried to back away but there was no space. He smiled with a hint of regret, "Wasn't it a bit too much of a rush?"
Chen Chi gently held that irrational mouth in his mouth, sucking and licking it, his tongue teasing Chu Sinian along with his fingertips.
Chu Sinian, unable to bear it any longer, tilted his head back, his hands weakly pushing away, his mouth being licked so hard that he mumbled a few words, "Wait...wait a minute..."
Chen Chi's rough tongue ground against the base of Chu Sinian's tongue, his fingertips occasionally poking and tugging, causing Chu Sinian's eyes to redden.
He picked up Chu Sinian and made him sit on his lap, putting both hands inside. When Chu Sinian couldn't take it and leaned back, he grabbed his waist and pulled him back to kiss him.
His pale pink lips were sucked until they turned crimson, and Chu Sinian could only let out a few unconscious whimpers, which were quickly swallowed back into his mouth. Those hands kept wandering, kneading and grinding, which aroused a few tears in the corners of his eyes, and he groaned helplessly.
...
...
The recliner rocked gently as Chu Sinian lay on Chen Chi, his head buried in Chen Chi's shoulder and neck, inhaling the other's deep, cold breath, his consciousness hazy.
Chen Chi put one arm around the shoulder and patted the other to comfort him, "Can you handle it?"
Chu Sinian nodded vaguely and replied slowly, "I'm not a fragile thing."
A soft chuckle escaped Chen Chi's throat, and the slight vibration of his chest reached Chu Sinian's ears, causing him to bury his face even deeper.
Chen Chi lowered his head and kissed the tip of his red ear, saying in a deep voice, "That's enough, don't be afraid."
Although Chu Sinian felt it was a bit much, he didn't want to care anymore and just wanted to fall asleep.
Chen Chi seemed to realize his thoughts and carried him to the bedroom like a child.
Chu Sinian quickly grabbed his collar, "I need to take a shower, I want to take a shower."
Chen Chi let out a deep breath, placed the man on the edge of the bed, found him a pair of slippers to put on, and led him into the bathroom.
He went to the living room, opened the window, and took out a cigarette to light.
The firelight flickered in the cold wind. He pulled off his belt, reached inside, and squinted at the myriad lights shining through the French windows.
Chu Sinian was so tired that he didn't shower for long before coming out. He was wearing a thick bathrobe, which slightly exposed a small part of his chest. On his fair and pink skin, there were a few slightly red finger marks.
He felt much more refreshed after taking a shower, and seeing that no one was in the room, he went to the living room to look for someone.
Chu Sinian stood at the doorway, watching the broad-shouldered man by the window rapidly moving his hands, then silently closed the door and went back to his room.
—
The morning sun was bright and clear. Chu Sinian rubbed his eyes while nestled in bed, then got up to wash up.
I had just put down my toothbrush when there was a knock on the door.
Chu Sinian walked over in the slippers Chen Chi had prepared the night before. As soon as the door opened, a man in an expensive suit was carrying a breakfast, which seemed unusually incongruous with his cold and stern face.
He came in, took Chu Sinian's hand, and kicked the door shut. "I found a chef to make some porridge. How does it taste?"
Chen Chi opened the breakfast box, which contained shrimp and seafood porridge, and it smelled very fragrant.
Chu Sinian ate little last night. After taking a shower, he was forced to eat some food and then went to sleep. Chen Chi also went back to his room.
His stomach was terribly empty, so he scooped up a mouthful and put it in his mouth. "It's a little hot."
Chen Chi said, "It's already cooled down, the temperature is just right, it won't taste good if it gets any colder." As he spoke, he opened several other boxes, all of which contained Chinese dishes that looked, smelled, and tasted delicious.
"When are you leaving today? Let's take a private plane back."
"Around one or two in the afternoon? No need, your schedule is much tighter than mine, I won't disappear." Chu Sinian smiled, raised his phone and shook it, "I won't turn it off, if you're worried, you can send someone to follow me."
Chen Chi paused, peeled the tea egg, and placed it on his plate. "No, I don't know how."
He said in a low voice, "Once I recover, I'll remove the surveillance and location tracking."
Chu Sinian smiled, his heart filled with indescribable emotions.
Chen Chi spent the entire morning in meetings, reviewing documents, and signing papers. Chu Sinian accompanied him. Fearing he would be bored, Chen Chi sent a local guide to take Chu Sinian sightseeing in Vancouver, but Chu Sinian still refused.
Chen Chi's work is complicated and requires a lot of energy and focus, so when he gets busy, he can't pay much attention to Chu Sinian.
He watched as his assistants went back and forth to Chen Chi's hotel room, handing him stacks of documents and making phone calls one after another.
Having experienced this level of busyness firsthand, Chu Sinian knew just how busy Chen Chi truly was.
