So the Queen Mother wondered if something had happened without her knowledge that was causing Qing'er to cultivate so diligently.

As Qing'er hesitated about whether to speak, a voice echoed in her mind, "You can speak."

In a vast, white space, an old man stroked his beard.

The old man nodded with a smile, "That's me. It's alright to inform the Queen Mother and the others about this." Knowing this would allow him to cultivate properly. Thinking of how these people only knew how to play all day and never cultivated, he angrily clenched his fist, forgetting he was still stroking his beard. The force caused his beard to fall off.
