Shen Yan heated up Chen Yu's lunch again. Chen Yu sat in the chair and dozed off. Her stomach was rumbling with hunger. She was afraid that if she didn't get up to eat, her stomach would hurt from hunger. During her working years, Chen Yu had developed a stomach problem because she didn't eat on time. She had developed a habit of having to eat something whenever she was hungry, and she would get up to eat no matter how sleepy she was.

Shen Yan placed the food in front of Chen Yu, saying, "Eat before you sleep."

Chen Yu ate half of her meal with her head down. She couldn't finish the rest, so she stood up and went upstairs to her room to catch up on her sleep. Shen Yan cleaned up the rest for her. Shen Yan had just finished washing the dishes and thought for a moment before leaving the leftovers for Chen Yu. He was afraid that Chen Yu would be hungry again when she woke up in the afternoon. Chen Le hadn't said what time she would be home today.

After tidying up, Chen Yan went back upstairs to study.

Chen Le returned shortly after. He looked at the clock on the wall; it was exactly two o'clock in the afternoon. He wasn't too late to be back. He wondered if he should take the two little ones to town to play that night. He heard from Ah Niu at the neighboring farm that there would be fireworks tonight and tomorrow, so they could stay in town for the night.

"Shen Yan, Chen Yu!" Chen Le called out from the stairwell, but only Shen Yan responded. He put down his pen and went downstairs. "What's wrong, Uncle?"

"Where's Chen Yu? Shall I take you two out to play?"

"She's still asleep."

"Still not awake? What time is it, Chen Yu!"

Chen Le called Chen Yu's name as she went upstairs. Chen Yu, who was still asleep, was woken up by the noise. She looked at her open door with a blank expression, while Chen Le's chattering voice was right next to her ear.

"The sun's already high in the sky, why aren't you up yet? Come on, come on, I'll take you out to play."

"Where are we going to play? No, I want to sleep."

Chen Yu pulled the blanket over her head to block out Chen Le's voice. Chen Le scratched his head, thinking that it was still early and it wouldn't be too late to let Chen Yu wake up before going to bed, and he could also catch up on some sleep.

Shen Yan returned to his room and sat down, still pondering Chen Le's words. He was quite looking forward to the fireworks.

Chen Yu didn't wake up until after four o'clock. She shook her numb arms. Staying up all night was something no ordinary person could do. She was exhausted and felt like her mind was foggy. She sat on the edge of the bed for a while before standing up. She was starving and had to go downstairs to find something to eat.

There was still some leftover food in the kitchen. Chen Yu heated it up and took it to the dining table to eat. Chen Le came downstairs yawning and saw Chen Yu eating. "Yu Yu, did you go thief last night? You got up so late."

"I played too much video games last night," Chen Yu replied while eating.

"After you've eaten, tidy up. We'll stay in town tonight."

Why would you stay in town?

"There will be fireworks to watch. I'll take you and Shen Yan to have some fun."

Chen Yu nodded. Since she was bored at home anyway, going to check it out wouldn't hurt. After finishing her meal, Chen Yu went upstairs to pack two pieces of clothing, which would be more convenient to put in her small backpack.

Shen Yan had already packed up and was waiting in the room. Once Chen Le was fully awake, he called the two little ones downstairs. The three of them got ready and set off. It would take about an hour and a half to get to town. Chen Yu took out her phone, intending to play another game. She had become quite addicted to the game last night, and holding her phone made her feel a little itchy.

Shen Yan was a little curious. He turned his head to look at the game Chen Yu was playing, but he couldn't understand the fancy stuff at all. He turned his head to look out the window. The scenery was much better. After playing for half an hour, Chen Yu felt a little dizzy. He should have known better than to play on his phone while in the car.

The car slowly came to a stop. Chen Yu opened her eyes and looked out the window. The street was bustling with people and many street vendors. It looked very lively and full of life. Her eyes were immediately drawn to it. Chen Le looked at the location of the hotel, started the car again, and drove to the hotel parking lot.

"Alright kids, get out of the car. Let's go upstairs and put our things away."

Chen Le went to the hotel front desk and booked a room, but then thought that Chen Yu was now a teenager and it wouldn't be appropriate for her to stay with him, so he booked a room for her alone.

Just as Chen Yu put her things down, Chen Le and Shen Yan knocked on the door. "Yu Yu, are you hungry? Shall we go to the food street for something to eat?"

"Sure, let's go." Chen Yu pulled out the room key and went out.

The three walked out of the hotel side by side. Chen Yu was immediately attracted by the food being sold. She hadn't eaten this kind of roadside food in a long time. She went up to the pot and looked at the sugar. "Little girl, would you like one?" The owner looked at Chen Yu with a smile.

"Two, whatever flavor you want, you two can choose." Chen Le confidently pulled out his wallet to pay.

"I want strawberry! Shen Yan, what flavor do you want?"

"I... want chocolate."

"Okay!"

The boss immediately turned on the machine and started adding sugar. He was very fast and didn't make Chen Yu wait long before he finished making the strawberry one. Then it was Chen Yan's chocolate one. Chen Le only paid after they both received theirs. Along the way, Chen Yu kept looking around. She felt that everything sold on the roadside looked delicious, but she didn't have a big appetite, so she didn't dare let Chen Le buy anything.

"It's almost lunchtime, what would the children like to eat?"

Chen Yu thought for a moment, "I want to eat hot pot!" On such a cold day, she thought eating hot pot would be really refreshing, but she didn't know if Shen Yan would eat it.

"Sure, Shen Yan, do you have any other suggestions?"

Shen Yan was taken aback when he heard his name called. In the past, Chen Yu would make the decisions alone, but this time it was different. "Uncle, I can eat anything. You and Yu Yu can decide."

"Let's have hot pot then. There's a nice-looking place up ahead."

Chen Le pointed to a hot pot restaurant directly in front of the three of them. It was quite crowded and looked very lively. Chen Yu wasn't picky and led the way. The owner warmly greeted the three of them and found them a seat by the window. Chen Yu sat in the seat inside. Chen Yan originally wanted to sit with Chen Le, but Chen Le pushed him next to Chen Yu, saying, "Why are you squeezing in with me, an adult, when you're just a kid?"
