Chapter Ten: Powerful Figures

The guard took the mission card, glanced at the mission, and opened the door. "Go straight to Building One. Don't wander around."

"Understood." Ji Yueyao nodded.

Upon entering the villa area, Ji Yueyao went straight to Building No. 1 based on the floor number. Looking at Building No. 1, she couldn't help but feel speechless. Although the house in front of her could not be described as magnificent, it was still undeniably high-end. This was what they called the gap between the rich and the poor.

"Hello, I'm here to do a cleaning job." Ji Yueyao spotted the guard standing in front of Building No. 1 almost immediately and quickly walked over to him.

The guard looked her up and down, and after confirming her mission card several times, he turned around and put her mission card into the card slot at the door. Then he took out a device about the size of a mobile phone from the side and said, "Press your index finger."

Ji Yueyao took the device and found it to be similar to the one he had used to press his fingerprint at the personal data registration point. He obediently pressed his fingerprint as well.

The guard took the device and, after confirming that Ji Yueyao's identity had been transmitted to the mission center, nodded in relief. "Alright, you can start work tomorrow. Your points will be entered in a month."

"I understand, thank you." Ji Yueyao smiled gratefully, feeling great. Now she had work to do and food to eat.

The guard was taken aback, and scratched his head, blushing slightly. Since becoming a guard, he had become accustomed to cold faces, and he was quite unaccustomed to someone suddenly smiling at him like that.

Ji Yueyao walked out of the villa area in a great mood. She glanced at the map and prepared to find her way back. Looking at the markings on the map, she suddenly realized that this place was very close to the basic information inquiry office of the invasion department that Kaqi had mentioned. Since it was on the way, she decided to go and take a look!

After deciding on the route, Ji Yueyao walked straight toward her destination without noticing the people walking past her.

“Hey, boss, isn’t that woman…” Ling Yang recognized the silly woman in the wasteland almost immediately and turned around curiously. “So she’s from the Xiyu base. Then there’s no problem with her in the wasteland.”

After all, the Xiyu base is the closest to the wasteland.

Mu Yanxuan glanced at Ji Yueyao, seemingly uninterested. "Ling Yang, we're heading back to the military region tonight. Just go and tell Yu Zhenlong."

"So urgent?" Ling Yang stretched. "Alright, I'll find Yu Zhenlong right now. But boss, you know what, I really can't stand staying in such a small, run-down place as the Xiyu base."

If it weren't for this eyesore of a base, they would have returned to the military region long ago.

Ji Yueyao was sitting at the basic information inquiry desk. Since these reference books were not allowed to be taken out, she could only flip through them one by one.

However, although this is slow, it has its advantages: she can gain a clearer understanding of the world she is in now.

Strange people, strange plants, and strange birds are collectively called aliens, and aliens are divided into five categories: weak, medium, strong, extremely strong, and super strong. Ji Yueyao casually flipped through the various known alien illustrations and did not take them to heart.

Anyway, you can't remember all of them at once, can you?

Then Ji Yueyao casually flipped through the introductions of some of the more famous people in the world, which girls are generally more interested in.

"Yu Zhenlong, born in the late 87th year, became the leader of the Xiyu Base at the age of 20, an ice-type ability user." Ji Yueyao was stunned, not quite understanding this year number. She reached for a calendar and found that it said the late 113th year. A month still had 30 days, but that was the year... Ji Yueyao decided not to think about this difficult question anymore and continued reading the book she had just been reading. "Mu Yanxuan, born in the late 90th year, became the leader of the C Country Military Region at the age of 17. His ability is unknown, but it is rumored that he has an extremely strong physique, with speed and strength far exceeding that of ordinary people."

Ji Yueyao choked. He became the leader of a military region at the age of 17?! How extraordinary is this person?!

Think about what I was doing at 17...doing homework, going to school? The difference between me and him is like heaven and earth.

But he has nothing to do with her, right? Ji Yueyao sighed and lost interest in looking further. She had no interest in Beihuang or those bases. With her current strength, it was questionable whether she could even leave this Xiyu base, let alone go to other bases.

After closing the book, Ji Yueyao rested her eyes for a while. When she opened them again, she noticed that it was already dark outside. She sighed, put the documents back in their place, and got up to walk towards her dormitory in the North District. She was really starving.

Looking at the noticeably fewer crowds on the street at night, Ji Yueyao drifted off into a daze. She didn't have any grand ambitions right now, after all, she knew her own limitations. However, after hearing what the man who had accepted the B-board mission said today, her heart was still stirred.

No one wants to be looked down upon, and she was no exception. Was she born into this world only to be despised? No way! If... if there were a chance...

She also wanted to become stronger so that she could live a better life in this world.

The words "training area" flashed through Ji Yueyao's mind. She stopped in her tracks, took out a map, and found the training area. She was lucky; the training area was in the North District, so she didn't have to travel a long way back and forth. Otherwise, she would have been exhausted by doing so.

After thinking about Kaqi's words, Ji Yueyao shook her head and decided to go see her when she had time.

Ji Yueyao didn't know how long she walked, she only knew that when she got to her dormitory, she was almost collapsing.

"You're back so late. I thought something had happened to you." As soon as Ji Yueyao opened the door, she saw Kaqi leaning against the wall. She felt a warmth in her heart and scratched her head, saying, "I'm sorry to have worried you. I took on a mission in the West District, which is quite far away."

"In the West District?" Kachi frowned slightly. Could it be the one she was thinking of? "What kind of mission?"

"Cleaning in Building 1 of the West District." Ji Yueyao didn't notice the strange expression on Kaqi's face; she was still trying to reach for the water bottle she had placed on the bedside table.

"God...you actually chose that mission!" Kachi sighed, rubbing her forehead. "You're even dumber than Xiao Yaru!"

Xiao Yaru? This was the second time Ji Yueyao had heard this name, but what she was more concerned about now was... how could she have been so stupid?! Her mission was clearly incredibly profitable, wasn't it?!

"Is there anything wrong with this task? They provide food and drink every day, and there's long-term support." Ji Yueyao was puzzled. "Besides, cleaning should be easy, right?"

"Long-term guarantee?" Kachi shook her head. "What kind of guarantee is that? Ji Yueyao, do you know that if we accept one mission, we can't accept a second one?"

"Yes." She had naturally paid close attention to the details when she accepted the task.

"First, you have to eat two packs of biscuits and a bottle of water for five months straight, and that's all the food you have, because you can't earn points to get more food." Kaqi said calmly to Ji Yueyao, "Do you know why there are so many people in front of the board where you can earn points?"
