Upon seeing Ellie, the dark figure let out a strange chuckle, then silently recited a spell that Yun Zhe couldn't understand, and its entire body suddenly emitted a black, almost tangible flame.

Yun Zhe had never seen anything so eerie. He searched his entire mind but couldn't find a single memory of this dark shadow.

Ellie was very nervous. She had heard of this shadowy figure before; they were called Shadow Assassins. They were high-level assassins who had mastered some kind of dark magic. Their greatest characteristic was that, when attacking, their entire body, except for their head, could ignore all physical attacks like a shadow. But even that alone wasn't enough to kill this Shadow Demon.

No, the key question is, why would a Shadow Demon, a killer like him, be here? They charge exorbitant prices and usually target high-ranking officials and dignitaries. Thinking about this, Ellie began to understand. Could it be that Yun Zhe happened to stumble upon the assassin who was trying to kill Serena?

In the alley, it looked like Yun Zhe and his two companions, along with Ellie on the roof, were surrounding someone, but in reality, it was the exact opposite.

To make matters worse, apart from Ellie, the other three knew nothing about this Shadow Fiend.

Although Yun Zhe didn't understand why the deadly crossbow bolts had no effect on him, he knew that the assassin was after him.

"You two, run! I'll cover your retreat here," Yun Zhe shouted to Gao and Caroline behind him, now that he was mostly sober.

Caroline didn't move. "If we're going to call for reinforcements, one person is enough," he said, implying that Gao should leave and Yunzhe and I would fight side by side.

How could Gao stand this? He stopped walking, picked up a large bamboo broom from the side, and stepped forward to stand next to Yun Zhe.

"What, you're staying to steal a move or two from me? Get out of here, I can't use my skills properly." Yun Zhe's tone was firm. "Do I have to give the order?"

Gao and Caroline hesitated for a moment. Yun Zhe had been emphasizing execution and obedience for the past few days, and the two exchanged a glance. Perhaps staying here was really hindering Yun Zhe's performance. Before Yun Zhe could speak again, the two hurriedly ran towards the other end of the alley, looking back every few steps.

Shadow Killer wasn't in a hurry. He was confident that in his full form, no matter how skilled you were, it would only be a matter of struggling for a while longer. Besides, according to his investigation, Yun Zhe's martial arts were mediocre, his physical condition was poor, and he couldn't even ride a horse for long distances; his only redeeming quality was his intelligence.

Yun Zhe heard that familiar voice in his mind: "There's the longest sword in the bag. Take it out; it might be useful."

With a thought, Yun Zhe drew a longsword from behind him. The length of the hilt and the blade of this sword exceeded that of the Elf King's Sword, making it a clear two-handed sword.

Shadow Killer was stunned for a moment, and finally understood how Yun Zhe had managed to pull out that crossbow without any weapons. So you had a spatial ring after all, hahaha, this trip has really been very fruitful.

"Damn it, this sword doesn't seem to be very useful," Yun Zhe complained in his mind.

There was no response. Yun Zhe was furious and could only swing his sword again to block the Shadow Assassin's attack.

After several attempts, Shadow Killer suddenly stopped. He stared blankly at Yun Zhe and uttered a hoarse voice, "You're not human... hehehehehe," before bursting into a terrifying, eerie laugh.

Yun Zhe's face darkened; it seemed that tonight they were going to fight to the death.

"Duck!" Ellie shouted, unleashing a barrage of arrows at the Shadow Assassin's head, only to have the Shadow Assassin dodge them.

As Shadow Assassin slashed back with his twin blades, Ellie slid past his legs with a quick step, and then shot another arrow toward his head.

Shadow Killer narrowly dodged, letting out a resentful cry.

Ellie and Yunzhe stood side by side, "Attack his head."

Why are you here?

Ellie glared at him, annoyed. Was this the time to ask such a question? "Someone was yelling for help, I heard it."

Although the time was short, Shadow Assassin's attacks were repeatedly neutralized tonight, which was the first time since he became Shadow Assassin.

However, since the other party is a vampire, it seems that I can forgive myself.

Shadow Killer composed himself and charged forward again, sword in hand. "Vampires, huh? It's not like I haven't killed them before!" He remained confident, because the one who had dodged his first attack was also a vampire, but in the end, he too had died by his blade.

But Shadow Assassin was overconfident. Tonight, he encountered two vampires, both older, faster, and stronger than the one he had just met.

If he had known they were two vampires, perhaps he might have killed them both, but that's just a possibility. From the moment Shadow Killer realized the nature of his opponent to the moment the arrows and longsword pierced his head, only a moment had passed. After a piercing scream, Shadow Killer's black robe suddenly curled into a ball. Seeing this, Yun Zhe quickly pulled Ellie up and pressed her tightly against a recessed wall. Sure enough, the ball exploded violently. The sound wasn't loud, but the evil energy erupted instantly, a gust of wind swept through the alley, and then everything returned to calm.
