In the corridors of St. Ying Academy, Yu Jiu Yuan always wore a perfectly fitting innocent smile, like a harmless lily of the vall...

Chapter 138 Poison Wine

When the servant gently pushed open the carved bronze door, Ji Luoqin was standing in front of the French windows watching the snow.

The snow in the courtyard was half a foot thick. He held an unlit cigarette between his fingers, his white shirt collar was loosely open, and his profile was as sharp as an ice-quenched knife in the cold light.

Hearing footsteps, he didn't turn around, but simply said, "President Yu is a rare guest."

Yu Jiuyuan walked in carrying a food box, and some snowflakes fell as her mink cloak swept across the carpet.

She smiled and took the celadon bowl out of the box: "I heard you haven't been eating well these past few days, so I had the kitchen stew a bowl of bird's nest."

The porcelain bowl made a soft sound as it rested on the ebony wooden table, and Ji Luoqin finally turned around.

His gaze fell on her cherry-red lips, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly: "You were much more obedient when you begged me that day than you are now."

"People always need to be flexible."

Yu Jiuyuan raised her hand, her fingertips seemingly brushing against the buttons of his shirt. "Rong Shenghan's injury hasn't fully healed yet. We can't really let him lie in bed until next semester."

Her nails were painted with a transparent pearlescent sheen, which caused a slight tingling sensation when they brushed against his skin.

Ji Luoqin grabbed her wrist, the force so strong it felt like she was about to crush her bones: "Yu Jiuyuan, do you care about him that much?"

"Yes, I care."

She looked up at him, her eyelashes still dusted with snowflakes that had drifted in from the window. "After all, he's... the one who's slept with me so many times."

The air suddenly froze.

Ji Luoqin's fingertips ground against her wrist bone, and she suddenly chuckled softly: "Aren't you afraid I'll kill him?"

“You won’t.” Yu Jiuyuan hooked her arm around his neck, her nose touching his chin. “If you kill him, who will be your target?”

Her breath was sweet and fragrant when she spoke.

Ji Luoqin lowered her head and kissed him, but what she tasted was a sweetness colder than snow.

He knew this woman was good at pretending to be innocent; just like now, her eyes were clearly full of calculation, but she insisted on putting on an amorous look.

The bird's nest slowly cooled down on the table.

As Yu Jiuyuan was pressed against the French windows by him, she still couldn't help but turn her head to look at the bowl of white wine that was gradually solidifying: "What a pity, I added some good stuff to it."

Ji Luoqin paused in her movements.

"You think I really came here to beg for peace?" She suddenly laughed, licking his earlobe with her tongue. "Ji Luoqin, the way you look when you're attracted to me is really ugly."

The snow outside the window fell heavier and heavier, turning the whole world into a blinding white.

Ji Luoqin pushed her away abruptly, her fingertips already trembling.

A strange heat surged up his spine, burning so intensely that his vision began to blur.

"Aphrodisiac?" He grinned through gritted teeth, his eyes swirling with rage and something more complex. "Yu Jiuyuan, how dare you."

"If I weren't bold enough, how could I dare to scheme against you?"

She slowly pulled her cloak tighter, then pulled a small recording pen from her pocket. "If Ji Nianqin hears what you just said..."

Before she could finish speaking, he slammed her against the wall.

Ji Luoqin's body temperature was alarmingly high, and his breath was heavy and out of control as he sprayed it on her face: "Aren't you afraid I'll do it to you right now?"

"I couldn't have gotten it."

Yu Jiuyuan tiptoed and kissed his lips, which were glistening with sweat. "Anyway, we should have done it a long time ago, shouldn't we?"

Her skirt was torn open, revealing her fair calves.

Ji Luoqin's hand was on her waist, her nails almost digging into her flesh, but at the last moment she suddenly loosened her grip.

"Get out." He turned his back, his voice hoarse as if it had been sanded.

Yu Jiuyuan straightened her collar and walked to the door, then suddenly turned back as if she remembered something: "Oh right, I forgot to tell you. Rong Shenghan is staying at my place not just because of the Su family."

She waved the recorder in her hand, her smile both innocent and cruel, "He knows more than you can imagine."

The door was gently closed, shutting out the suppressed breathing inside.

Yu Jiuyuan stood in the snow, looked up at the light on the second floor, and tossed the recorder into her handbag.

A system notification sounded at the opportune moment: [Ji Luoqin's emotional fluctuations: Negative 80/Positive 20. Current favorability assessment: 75.]

She exhaled a puff of white breath, turned around, and walked away through the snow.

As the hem of the cloak swept across the railing, the falling icicles shattered on the ground, breaking into a glittering fragment, much like the shattering hearts of some people.

A car horn sounded in the distance; it was the car that had come to pick her up.

As Yu Jiuyuan opened the car door, a hand suddenly reached out from the back seat and pulled her inside.

Ji Nianqin rested her chin on her shoulder and asked in a gentle voice, "Jiuyuan, did you have fun playing with my little brother?"

She turned her head to look at him, the coldness in her eyes still lingering: "What's it to you?"

"How can it not concern me?" he chuckled, his fingertips tracing her wrist, which had been pinched red. "After all... we're engaged."

The snow was still falling outside the car window, turning the spire of St. Sakura Academy into a fairytale scene.

Yu Jiuyuan closed her eyes, listening to the steady breathing of the man in the back seat. She suddenly remembered the bottle of medicine she had redeemed from the system shop a long time ago. The instructions said that it had a miraculous effect on twins.

That's really interesting.

She thought.
