Chapter 2, Understanding

Finally, get out of class ended. Zhang Youyou packed up her things and went to the cafeteria with her roommate. Zhang Youyou, who was not very energetic before, immediately opened her eyes when she saw the food.

The four of them found a place to sit down. Three of them kept talking about how handsome and great the new teaching assistant was, and how they really wanted to rip off his white shirt to see if he had abs. Zhang Youyou didn't want to participate because she knew.

As Zhang Youyou sat there eating in silence, Liu Ping finally noticed something was wrong. She patted Cheng Qiu, who was sitting next to her, and gave Li Yanyan, who was sitting opposite her, a wink. The three of them looked at her. Zhang Youyou, who was gnawing on a rib, finally noticed something was amiss. She looked up with a bone in her mouth, her eyes filled with confusion.

"Youyou, why aren't you saying anything? Don't you like this teaching assistant?" Liu Ping asked kindly.

Zhang Youyou silently put the remaining bone aside, took a tissue to wipe her mouth, and said calmly, "No, I know him."

The three gasped, and Cheng Qiu finally couldn't help but exclaim, "What? You know him?"

Sitting to the side, Liu Ping immediately covered her mouth with her hand, apologizing to the stares from those around them.

"Why are you yelling?" Liu Ping only let go of her hand after she recovered and grabbed a tissue to wipe her hands.

Cheng Qiu was a little embarrassed, but still expressed her feelings, "I was just surprised. I thought the big shot was far away from me, but I didn't expect to have him right next to me."

Zhang Youyou glanced at her but didn't say anything. It was only when Li Yanyan asked that she spoke up, "He is my friend's brother."

Are you familiar with each other?

"We're quite familiar with each other, because I basically grew up in his family." As she spoke, she poked at the rice on her plate with her chopsticks.

Another bombshell.

They grew up in his family? Are they childhood sweethearts?

Li Yanyan clutched her chest and asked, "Excuse me, how did you grow up in his family?"

No matter how close you are to your friend, you can't grow up at their house!

Noticing that Zhang Youyou didn't understand, Liu Ping explained, "What Yan Yan means is, aren't you and his brother friends? Then how come you grew up in his house?"

“Oh, because my family and his family are old friends. My grandfather and his grandfather were comrades-in-arms and had a very good relationship. When I was a child, my parents were busy with work, so his grandfather took me to live with them. Even now, I have a room in his old house.” Zhang Youyou said without any reservations.

The three women's eyes lit up; they looked at Zhang Youyou as if she were a fresh, juicy pork rib.

"What's wrong with you guys?" Zhang Youyou looked at them in confusion, very worried that she would become their meal in the next second.

Li Yanyan was so envious that tears almost streamed down her face. She held Zhang Youyou's hand and said affectionately, "Why didn't you say you were so great sooner? If I had known you were so close to him, why would I have bothered searching for information online? It was such a waste of time!"

Zhang Youyou's usually clueless mind finally started working. She looked at Li Yanyan, then at the two people opposite her, and warned, "I advise you to give up on this idea. He's cold and ruthless. If you try to pursue him, you'll probably be frozen solid before you even get close to him!"

Li Yanyan clasped her hands together and said with boundless longing, "If it were him, I would be willing to become a popsicle!"

Zhang Youyou reached out and patted her head, sighing, "How could someone so young go crazy?"

Li Yanyan was known as the most infatuated girl in their dorm, but no one expected her to be infatuated with Li Donghao. However, it's not unreasonable for girls to have some fantasies. If she knew that Li Donghao might marry her, the beautiful dorm would probably turn into a battlefield. After careful consideration, Zhang Youyou decided to keep the "arranged marriage" to himself.
