"how's it going?"
Dr. Yang was woken up from his sleep, patted his face to wake himself up.
"My stomach is hurting in waves, and it feels like it's dropping really badly. You said before that when this happens, it means I'm going into labor."
"It's alright, don't worry, let me check it out."
Bonnie lay on the bed. After Dr. Yang cleared the room, he began the examination. She was already three centimeters dilated, but it would take a while.
"Go for a walk around, it'll be a while. Prepare some food so you won't be too tired to give birth later."
"Okay, Dr. Yang, thank you for your help."
Gu Ye quickly thanked him, even though it was the middle of the night.
"Grandma, you stay here with Bonnie. I'm going home to make some sweet egg soup and I'll be back in a bit."

Gu Ye jogged home, started a fire, and cooked a meal. He broke off more than ten eggs, added a lot of brown sugar, and served them in two lunchboxes.
When we arrived at the hospital, we gave Dr. Yang some things so we'd have the energy to help Bonnie deliver the baby.
"Grandma, I made a lot, you should have two to warm up."
Gu Ye handed over chopsticks. Grandma ate one but couldn't eat anymore. Bao Ni didn't eat much either, as her stomach was full. Gu Ye finished off the rest.
As dawn broke, Bonnie was wheeled into the delivery room, while Gu Ye and the others were kept outside the door.
"Grandma, everything will be alright, right?"
"Everything will be alright, Goddess Mazu will protect you!"
After Grandma finished speaking, she stood to the side, closed her eyes, and mumbled something.
