The waiter was surprised by this good news and took the bag with both hands.
"Thank you all!"
"You're welcome," Gu Lingxiao replied.
The waiter happily carried the bag back, distributed the ice cream to the other waiters, and sent a few more ice creams to the kitchen.
After learning the origin of the ice cream, the kitchen specially steamed a chicken cake as a return gift. It was a big bowl full of sesame oil and some soy sauce.
As soon as the sponge cake was served, the people sitting in the hall who were eating smelled it; it had a wonderful aroma.
The waiter placed the bowl on the table and said, "This is cooked by the chef for you; it's free."
Lu Zhixia said, "Please thank the chef for us!"
The waiter smiled and said, "Comrades, you are the first customers to bring us food after working for so long. We are very happy."
Lu Zhixia said, "To be honest, it's also because we bought too much."
The waitress turned around and took the meals from the waiters behind her, placing them one by one on the table.

Eating an ice cream on a hot day is so refreshing, especially when it's free.
Lu Zhixia scooped a spoonful of sponge cake with a spoon. It was topped with a layer of sesame oil. She took a bite and found it incredibly fragrant and delicious, even better than the steamed sponge cake at home.
"This cookhouse is really skilled; they make such tender and delicious sponge cakes."
"Then I'll try some too." Gu Lingxiao took a spoonful and put it in his mouth. It did taste much better.
"He must have put something in here, it's incredibly flavorful."
Lu Zhixia took two more bites and said, "If I'm not mistaken, it must contain shrimp powder and eggs that are fully mixed together before being steamed and then sprinkled with a lot of sesame oil, which can just cover up the fishy smell."
Gu Lingxiao put down his spoon. "You're really something. You could taste the seasoning after just a few bites."
Lu Zhixia tilted her head up and said, "That's because he used simple seasonings. If he used more seasonings, I wouldn't be able to taste the difference."
Gu Lingxiao felt that after the truth was revealed, the two got along much better than before. He wished he had been honest sooner and explained the situation at home.
