Chapter 66 Escape

"Oh right," Li Qiu said suddenly, "Liu Fang had her back to me at the time, and she seemed to have held Mother's hand. She said she saw her move."

Shake hands? Lin Shu quickly took Aunt Liang's hand and examined it carefully.

Sure enough, she found a small red dot near the nail of one of Aunt Liang's fingers.

A hint of coldness flashed in Lin Shu's eyes. Liu Fang was testing whether Aunt Liang had woken up.

As expected, she guessed correctly. Aunt Liang’s injury was related to Liu Fang.

Lin Shu did not tell Li Qiu about this, but told her: "Don't let Liu Fang and other strangers get close to Aunt Liang in the future. This is not conducive to Aunt Liang's recovery."

Li Qiu seemed to have guessed something and opened his mouth: "Is there something wrong with Liu Fang?"

Lin Shu nodded solemnly.

Li Qiu was surprised, then asked angrily: "What did she do?"

"It's just my guess," Lin Shu said. "There's no evidence yet, so we can only be on guard against her and not let her get close to Aunt Liang again.

"Okay." Li Qiu said seriously.

After Lin Shu finished acupuncture for Aunt Liang, he went to Han Yan's room.

"You're here?" Han Yan looked at Lin Shu and said gently, "Have a drink of water and take a rest first."

Lin Shu pursed his lips and felt indeed thirsty, so he sat down at the table, poured himself a glass of water, and began to drink it in small sips.

"What happened?" Han Yan asked.

Lin Shu paused in his drinking motion. Was she really that obvious?

Lin Shu thought for a moment and said, "Liu Fang went to see Aunt Liang today."

Han Yan's face turned cold. "What is she doing here?"

"She came here to test whether Aunt Liang had woken up?"

"Probing?"

"Yes." Lin Shu did not hide it anymore. "I guess Aunt Liang's injury this time has something to do with her. Maybe..." She hesitated to speak and looked at Han Yan carefully.

Han Yan's eyes were filled with ice-coldness, and he said in a deep voice, "When mother wakes up, if it's confirmed to be her, I will definitely not let her off."

Lin Shu nodded in agreement.

"Do you believe what I say?"

"I believe everything you say." Han Yan looked at her seriously.

Lin Shu couldn't help but feel sweet in her heart and glared at him.

Han Yan coughed lightly to cover up his mistake.

The two looked at each other, and the atmosphere became strange.

"Okay," Lin Shu was the first to speak and break the strange atmosphere, "Let's get started."

Lin Shu picked up the needle and walked to Haiyan's bed.

Han Yan raised the corner of his mouth slightly and hummed softly.

When he returned to the dormitory, Lin Shu discovered that Liu Fang not only looked as if nothing had happened, but also had a hint of unusual excitement on her face.

Lin Shu frowned slightly. After what happened today, she shouldn't have that expression no matter what.

Lin Shu couldn't figure it out, so he could only suppress his emotions temporarily and become more alert to her.

After that, Aunt Liang's condition got better day by day, and she moved more and more frequently. Occasionally, you could see her fingers moving without any stimulation.

"Auntie Liang, he should wake up in the next two days." Lin Shu said to him happily as he inserted the needle into the acupuncture point on Han Yan's leg.

Han Yan looked a little excited, as if he had a lot to say. Finally, he said in a deep voice, "Thank you."

"Thank you again." Lin Shu glared at him and inserted a needle into the acupuncture point on his leg.

Han Yan hissed, opened his eyes wide and looked at Lin Shu in disbelief.

"What, what happened?" Lin Shu's expression was delighted. She had a guess, maybe...

As if he knew what she was going to ask, Han Yan nodded quickly and said excitedly, "Yes, my leg, I felt pain just now."

Lin Shu was delighted. He lowered his head and inserted the other needles into other acupuncture points one by one. As he inserted the needles, he asked, "Do you feel anything with this needle?"

With each needle placed in her back, Han Yan made a hissing sound and nodded, saying, "It hurts so much."

After Lin Shu placed the last stitch, she heard Han Yan complain of pain again. She couldn't help but stand up excitedly and said happily, "That's great, Han Yan. I didn't expect you to feel your leg so quickly. It means you've recovered very well."

Han Yan was also very excited. He leaned over and took Lin Shu's hand, saying in a deep voice, "Thank you for your hard work. This is all thanks to you."

Lin Shu tried to pull his hand away embarrassedly, but couldn't. He pretended to be calm and said, "No, this is what I do as a doctor."

"Thank you, Dr. Kobayashi."

Lin Shu burst out laughing.

"Well, I..." Han Yan seemed to realize that he said thank you again, and looked a little embarrassed.

"I accept your thanks." Lin Shu said with a smile.

The two of them raised their lips slightly and looked at each other silently.

After an unknown amount of time, Lin Shu's hand struggled for a moment, and she said in a delicate voice, "Let go quickly, I need to take out the needle."

Han Yan hummed lightly and let go of his hand, but his eyes remained on her.

Lin Shu tried his best to ignore his gaze.

"By the way," Lin Shu said, "I see Liu Fang has been quite well behaved lately. I haven't noticed any other moves from her."

A cold look flashed in Han Yan's eyes: "Let her go for now."

Lin Shu thought about it and agreed. As long as he prevented her from getting close to Aunt Liang, she would be helpless. Once she made any move, she would be exposed.

Lin Shu returned to the dormitory in the evening, but Liu Fang had not returned yet.

What surprised Lin Shu was that Liu Fang did not show up until bedtime.

"Have you seen Liu Fang?" Lin Shu asked Xu Juan and Xiao Qiao.

Xu Juan and Xiao Qiao looked at each other and shook their heads to indicate that they didn't know.

Where could she have gone? Lin Shu pondered.

If she wasn't in the brigade, the only thing Lin Shu could think of was that she had returned home.

Lin Shu turned to look at Liu Fang's luggage, which she had left in the room. Would she come back? Although it wasn't easy to return once you became an educated youth in the countryside, there was still a way out.

If she really didn't come back, Lin Shu felt vaguely unwilling in his heart, and they would be unable to do anything to her for the time being.

The next day, Lin Shu asked Li Hao, a young educated person who was on good terms with her in the next dormitory.

Li Hao looked puzzled: "Did she go home? I don't know, she didn't tell me."

Lin Shu paused while making breakfast. It seemed that she had kept it a secret from everyone.

I met the captain on the way.

"Captain." Lin Shu greeted him and thought for a moment before speaking, "Captain, do you know Liu Fang?" She thought that if Liu Fang wanted to leave, she would have to write a note to the captain.

"You're talking about that educated youth, Liu Fang," the team leader said after a moment's thought. "The day before yesterday, she came to me with a telegram, looking very sad. She said her mother was seriously ill and asked me to approve a note to let her go back for a few days. I agreed."

"What happened?" the captain asked, seeming puzzled by Lin Shu's sudden question about Liu Fang.

"I didn't see her come back to the dormitory all night, so I asked her." Lin Shu said with a smile.

When she told Han Yan about this, he said coldly, "She probably won't come back."

Lin Shu agreed. He just didn't know how she managed to stay at home.

"Let her escape like this." Lin Shu said a little discouraged.

"We will have another chance to catch her in the future," Han Yan comforted.

Lin Shu hummed softly. Actually, with Liu Fang's personality, she'd probably kill herself.
