"You haven't eaten all day, have something to eat." Ji Chen opened all the lunchboxes and placed them on the bedside table.
Jiang Xue looked at the stir-fried green peppers with shredded pork, a braised crucian carp, and a large bowl of white rice.
Jiang Xue said, "Why spend so much money? A couple of simple vegetarian dishes will suffice."
Sitting opposite Jiang Xue, Ji Chen couldn't help but sneer, "Don't you like eating meat? If you want to eat it, why are you complaining about the expense?"
Jiang Xue hadn't eaten lunch, and after running around all afternoon, her legs were already weak, and her stomach was incredibly empty.
Before long, Jiang Xue had devoured all the food on the table.
"I also bought some sesame seed cakes and chestnuts that you like over there."
Jiang Xue rubbed her stomach. "I'm full, I can't eat anymore. If Shao Meng wakes up, we'll get her some noodles from the cafeteria. Right now, she can only eat light food."
Seeing that Jiang Xue had indeed finished eating, Ji Chen suggested, "How about we go outside and talk?"
Jiang Xue sensed that Ji Chen seemed to have something to tell her, and that it was best not to do it in front of the two children.
“Okay.” Jiang Xue readily agreed, put on her shoes, and followed behind Ji Chen.
"Shaoheng, take a look at your little sister, Mom will be here soon." Jiang Xue winked playfully at Shaoheng.
Shao Heng was amused by Jiang Xue and laughed.
Jiang Xue felt aches and pains in her back and waist, and the leg she had fallen on was still injured and hadn't fully healed. She looked at her leg as she walked.
Ji Chen walked into the corridor and, seeing that no one was around, immediately stopped.
Jiang Xue was completely unaware that Ji Chen had suddenly braked, and her head slammed into Ji Chen's solid chest.
She looked up, a little confused, and touched her head, groaning repeatedly, "Ouch, ouch."
"Does it hurt?" Ji Chen reached out to touch Jiang Xue's head.
Jiang Xue quickly dodged, saying, "You should have said something before you stopped."
"What did you say? Why did you call me aside to talk?" Jiang Xue touched her forehead.
"Can we postpone the divorce for now? I want to wait until the child is a little better, at least until after the New Year, when I send Shaoheng to school, and then we can get a divorce."
Ji Chen quickly added, "If you're not in a hurry, we can wait until the land and bamboo forest are approved before we leave."
"Sure, I'm not in a hurry at all, but you have to remember this: this time you're the one begging me, not me trying to stay here."
Jiang Xue looked at Ji Chen with a little bit of secret joy in her heart.
Ji Chen looked at Jiang Xue's indifferent expression and felt very unhappy. "Do you really want a divorce?"
"That's for sure. Men are just stumbling blocks on the road to wealth. I only want to be beautiful on my own." After saying that, Jiang Xue walked up to Ji Chen, stood on tiptoe, and patted Ji Chen's shoulder.
Ji Chen's bright eyes dimmed instantly.
"Don't you have any lingering feelings?" Ji Chen still couldn't give up and stepped forward to grab Jiang Xue.
Jiang Xue stared blankly at the unusually serious Ji Chen, "Do you want me to take care of Shao Heng and Shao Meng for a long time?"
Aside from this one factor, Jiang Xue couldn't think of any other. Ji Chen disliked her so much before, there couldn't possibly be any other reason.
"Yes," Ji Chen said, looking at Jiang Xue with a firm gaze.
Jiang Xue nodded. "Sure."
Ji Chen's dark eyes immediately lit up.
“I can still help you take care of them even if you’re divorced. I love them both very much. Besides, I’ve already agreed to be Shaoheng’s mother. I told you before that I want to raise these two little rascals to college years by my own hands. Have you forgotten?”
