Ye Panjiu walked straight to the accountant who was holding an abacus.
"Shopkeeper, I see you're buying charcoal?"
The accountant with the mustache raised his head and looked at the three people in front of him.
He subtly suppressed the corners of his mouth; those patches clearly indicated poverty.
"Okay, let me see your charcoal."
Ye Panjiu led the way.
When they arrived at the oxcart, the accountant's eyes lit up when he saw the small mountain of charcoal.
He stopped abruptly, shaking his head, "You've given me far too little charcoal."
Ye Panjiu explained, "This is just the first batch; there will be many more later..."
The accountant raised his hand to interrupt her, "There's no need to look at these. They're only one and a half cents a pound each. I'll take them all."
Ye Panjiu's face turned cold. "Then I'm sorry to bother you."
The accountant was clearly trying to drive down the price, but she wasn't afraid.
If she couldn't find a suitable price to sell it in town, she would go to the county to sell it.
The accountant didn't take it seriously, convinced that she was just saying it casually.
As a result, Ye Panjiu got on the oxcart without even glancing at him.
“Mita, turn left and then go straight.”
Upon hearing this, the accountant's forehead veins throbbed.
No one knew better than him how desperately the inn was short of charcoal.
Moreover, this young lady is clearly referring to his family's biggest competitor!
The accountant stepped forward and grabbed the ox rope. "Let's talk this over. Let me take another look at this charcoal."
Ye Panjiu didn't say anything, but jumped off the oxcart and made way for her.
The accountant reached out and pinched the charcoal, then tapped it.
I was somewhat shocked. This charcoal was clearly not watered, and it looked better with fewer crumbs.
"It's alright, two coins a pound, I'll take it if it's acceptable."
Ye Panjiu didn't miss a single one of his subtle movements. "My charcoal is better than others', and I won't ask for more. It's three coins a pound. From now on, all the charcoal I burn will be given to your family."
