Chapter 9 Did the egg have a fight with you?

She realized that no matter how much effort she put into planning, the future would never unfold as she had envisioned.

Now, I occasionally have late-night snacks and beer with Ren Jin, chat about trivial topics, and enjoy the momentary pleasure of physical intimacy. Isn't this relaxed and pleasant?

Ren Jin sat down at the coffee table after finishing his work. It was the only place in the room where he could sit and rest, but it was just a carpeted floor. Gu Yueji was hunched over the coffee table, scrolling through her phone and writing a review of the day in her notebook. She looked uncomfortable.

Gu Yueji, the female anchor, was different from what Ren Jin had imagined. He used to think that being a female anchor was an easy and lucrative job; as long as you showed some skin and made male viewers happy, you could get a lot of tips.

However, Gu Yueji was busy from morning till night. She would get up at 7:30 in the morning to select products to recommend for the live broadcast, come up with clothing matching ideas, write the live broadcast script and set up interactive topics. She would start the live broadcast at 10 o'clock sharp, and take an hour break for lunch and dinner in between, and then broadcast until 10 pm. After the broadcast, she would still have to look at the live broadcast data, such as GMV distribution and product transactions, do a review and summary, and also process the orders of her online store.

Anyway, aside from sleeping, she spent almost all her time working, and didn't have the eating, drinking, and having fun he had imagined.

"There's mung bean soup in the fridge, get some for yourself," Gu Yueji said without looking up, sensing his gaze.

Upon hearing this, Ren Jin got up and went to the kitchen. After a day in the sun, this chilled mung bean soup was just what he wanted.

He stood in front of the refrigerator and drank two bowls of wine. When he was almost done, he used the bowl he had been drinking from to scoop out another bowl and handed it to Gu Yueji.

Gu Yueji glanced at the steaming mung bean soup and shook her head. "I won't drink it."

Ren Jin asked, puzzled, "Why?"

In July, it wasn't much cooler indoors, and besides, she cooked it herself but didn't drink it.

"Is this mung bean soup laced with medicine?" Ren Jin asked jokingly.

Gu Yueji rolled her eyes at him, "My period is coming soon."

Ren Jin was taken aback. They had been having intermittent periods for about two months, and this was the first time she had encountered her period.

He asked, "When?"

Gu Yueji: "Number 12."

Ren Jin asked in more detail, "Is it accurate?"

Gu Yueji nodded; her periods had always been very regular.

But as soon as she nodded, she immediately understood what he meant: "Get out of here!"

Ren Jin laughed shamelessly, "What? I'm just concerned about you."

"You're not going to touch me again tonight!"

Ren Jin teased her on purpose, scratching her chin like he was teasing a cat, "That won't do, tomorrow is the 12th, we need to hurry tonight."

Gu Yueji kicked him angrily, yelling, "Are you even human?!"

Ren Jin chuckled and drank the mung bean soup that had been served to her in one gulp.

That night, Gu Yueji slept cautiously, far away from him. Ren Jin hadn't intended to tease her anymore, but seeing her like this, he leaned over and hugged her from behind, his hands wandering in and out, his chest heaving with laughter behind her back.

Gu Yueji was so frightened that she tried to break free, but Ren Jin held her tightly with his arm and wouldn't let her move. He then groped her without any hesitation before stopping. "Alright, I won't bother you anymore."

Gu Yueji didn't believe him.

He wasn't a man of few desires; every time he came, they would be exhausted in bed, and they were exceptionally harmonious in this respect, naturally coming together.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt he would lose control, so she turned around and pushed him, saying, "Let go of me."

He closed his eyes, patted her back lightly, and threatened, "If you don't sleep, I'll really do it."

Upon hearing this, Gu Yueji dared not move.

Ren Jin smiled silently. He didn't know what she was afraid of. Although he was unrestrained and pleasure-seeking towards her, it was always on her consent. He wasn't some perverted man who liked to force himself on her.

Gu Yueji nestled against his chest. His body was like a furnace. Usually, she didn't want to be near him when she was hot while sleeping, but tonight she felt cold and it was warm and comfortable to be held by him.

She lay quietly for a while, and seeing that he really didn't make any move, she soon felt sleepy and fell asleep.

When Gu Yueji woke up the next morning, she saw that she and Ren Jin were sleeping separately again. He was lying in a starfish position, and she was curled up facing him.

She had a dull ache in her stomach, so she got up to go to the toilet and found that her underwear was dirty. Her period was as regular as ever.

Looking at her underwear, she reflexively felt her stomach hurt even more.

She has suffered from menstrual cramps since childhood. When she was young, the pain was so bad that she couldn't straighten her back. She still had to carry water to water the vegetables, wash clothes by the river, and cook for her family. When she was in too much pain, she would curl up in a ball with her knees to relieve the pain.

As I grew older, I learned to drink brown sugar ginger water, avoid cold water, keep warm, and take some medicine. Gradually, the pain subsided.

But the discomfort persists, a dull ache, and I feel very tired.

Ren Jin came into the kitchen yawning and saw Gu Yueji staring at Egg with a sour face. "What's wrong? Did Egg have a fight with you?"

Gu Yueji was irritable. Even seeing the egg rolling around and not staying still annoyed him. His teasing words only added fuel to the fire, "I'm on my period, and I'm not feeling well, so don't bother me."

Ren Jin was taken aback, thinking to himself, "Are all women's periods this punctual? They come exactly on the day they're told?"

He glanced at Gu Yueji's face. Her lips were pale, lacking their usual rosy color, and she had faint dark circles under her eyes, looking somewhat listless.

"How exactly are you feeling unwell?" he asked curiously.

Gu Yueji described her current feelings one by one: "My stomach hurts, my back hurts, I feel cold, I'm irritable, I have no energy, I don't want to touch cold water, and I don't want to make you breakfast!"
