She spoke faster and faster, her frustration growing stronger. She wondered why she was always the one cooking breakfast for him, and the next second she wanted to throw her chopsticks in his face.
Upon hearing the last sentence, Ren Jin immediately understood and took the chopsticks from her hand, saying, "I'll cook."
Gu Yueji glared at him, tossed the food to him without hesitation, and left the kitchen.
Ren Jin was puzzled by her inexplicable outburst of temper.
He hadn't been around any women since he was a child, so he didn't understand what a woman's menstrual cycle was like.
Is it really that upsetting? Do people always get so angry for no reason?
But she seemed really uncomfortable; even her tone when scolding him was much weaker, and it wasn't for no reason.
Ren Jin quickly cooked the noodles and brought them out. His cooking skills were really not good. The egg in the noodles was broken into pieces, and the noodles were overcooked and a bit mushy. Gu Yueji was already bloated and didn't want to eat, and looking at the noodles made her even less willing to eat. But thinking about the full day of work she had to do and not go hungry, she could only eat slowly.
Ren Jin wasn't picky about food; as long as he could fill his stomach, he was fine. After finishing his meal in a few bites, he got dressed and prepared to head out to deliver breakfast.
As I passed through the living room, I saw Gu Yueji still eating, looking listless.
"Do you need me to buy you medicine?" Ren Jin asked.
Gu Yueji looked up at him blankly, "What medicine do you want to buy?"
"Aren't you feeling unwell? Can you take any medicine?"
He frowned slightly, looking at her intently, his eyes full of confusion.
Gu Yueji paused for a moment after looking at him like that, only then realizing that she was taking her bad mood out on Ren Jin, and that he hadn't done anything wrong.
So she composed herself, smiled at him, and said, "No need, thank you. Just remember to buy me some ginger when you come back."
Seeing her smile return as easily as turning the pages of a book, Ren Jin was puzzled. "You're not angry anymore? You've studied Sichuan opera, haven't you? Your face changes so quickly."
Gu Yueji's smile vanished the next second, and she glared at him speechlessly, "I'm trying my best to talk to you properly, don't force me to lose my temper with you."
Ren Jin looked at her unpredictable mood and smiled helplessly, realizing that he really didn't understand women. "Alright, don't get angry so easily. I'll buy the things later. I'm leaving."
