Chapter Three

Besides Jiang Yixing, Zhang Chang was also subtly observing Li Yan. It was obvious who was lying; Li Yan's acting was subpar, and in Zhang Chang's eyes, it was full of flaws.

The staff here have pulled up the video from earlier and fast-forwarded to the final part.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Li Yan, standing behind Gu Ruini, reached out and pushed Gu Ruini, causing her to lose her balance and stumble forward.

A murmur rippled through the crowd, all eyes turning to Li Yan. The whispers pierced her heart like sharp swords; she felt a moment of disorientation, her face turning deathly pale. "Impossible!"

It was all planned out! It was definitely not going to be photographed! How could this happen? Where did things go wrong?

In her panic, Li Yan's gaze involuntarily drifted toward the man in black behind the pillar.

"Hey, what are you looking at?" Jiang Yixing asked casually, pointing to the spot and drawing everyone's attention. "Why are there reporters here?"

"reporter??"

"Oh my god!! There really is someone! I was so scared when I suddenly saw them!"

"Look! They're taking pictures with their phones!"

"It was well hidden. If Jiang Yixing hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have been able to find it at all."

The scene became chaotic, and the man in black tried to escape, but was pulled back by Gu Ruini's bodyguards after running only a few meters.

"This is a conspiracy, isn't it..."

Someone at the scene realized, "This whole thing is linked together; isn't it all aimed at Gu Ruini?"

Jiang Yixing rested her chin on her hand, tapping her knuckles with a single finger, and smiled broadly.

"This is terrifying... Is this the world of the rich kids? It's really tough."

With things having progressed this far, Gu Ruini finally breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced at Jiang Yixing sitting beside her and silently said, "Thank you."

Gu Ruini stepped forward and easily took the phone from the black-clad man who had already been apprehended. "Taking photos without consent and intentionally causing injury, you two will see each other at the police station."

Li Yan was bewildered as to how things had suddenly turned out this way, and felt utterly panicked. Everything should have gone according to her plan: Gu Ruini would have been branded a bully and barred from the entertainment industry, while Li Yan had cultivated a strong and optimistic image, laying the foundation for her future success.

But how did everything turn out like this?

Li Yan couldn't accept it. She forced herself to remain calm and finally remembered the persona she had created for herself in this play.

"I just bumped into you by accident, why are you being so aggressive?" Li Yan's long hair was disheveled, and her voice was trembling with tears.

“You’ve been bullying people like this since college, just because you’re from a wealthy family. You have no idea what this opportunity means to me. My family is poor, but everything I wear and everything I own today is money I’ve saved up little by little.”

"A pampered young lady like you has probably never done a part-time job, right? You probably don't know what it's like to be bossed around like that, do you?"

"Look at this, we're classmates, and my grades are even better than yours, but they still chose you for the lead role." Li Yan gave a bitter smile. "Does one's background really determine everything?"

Li Yan spoke earnestly and looked sorrowful. Some people around her felt something was wrong, while others felt sorry for her.

"This girl is really pitiful."

The boy had barely finished speaking when the girl next to him patted him twice. "What's with the pitiful look? She's the one who made him fall. Look at Jiang Yixing's injuries."

Jiang Yixing sat to the side, stretching out his legs. When someone looked over, he shrugged. The wound on his leg was still very conspicuous, constantly reminding everyone of the fact that Li Yan had pushed someone.

"I was wondering why they hired a newcomer for this ad; turns out her family is rich." Some people were also provoked by Li Yan's words. After all, they were all college students who had just graduated, while some people could become leading actresses directly because of their family's influence, while they could only be minor extras.

Gu Ruini was in a bad mood, and her expression grew increasingly impatient. "Say what you want."

Then he picked up his phone and dialed a number, "Why haven't they arrived yet?"

Jiang Yixing suddenly stood up. The injury on her leg did not affect her walking at all. She walked to the black-clad man who had been captured and took out another cell phone from his pocket.

The man in black was drenched in sweat, his eyes darting around.

“So there was another cell phone,” Jiang Yixing said with a smile. “No wonder you didn’t seem flustered at all.”

The phone screen was lit up, displaying the recording interface. It turned out they had prepared not only a video recording but also a phone for audio recording. It's not hard to imagine what Li Yan's words would look like after being processed and uploaded online.

Gu Ruini broke out in a cold sweat.

The group looked at each other in bewilderment. This scheme within a scheme was beyond their imagination, and for a moment they were at a loss for words.

Jiang Yixing was probably the only person in the entire room who could remain calm, since almost nothing could escape her notice.

"Alright, I understand things very well now."

Jiang Yixing clapped her hands, and everyone looked at her. She had a fair complexion, a tall figure, and smiling eyes. She looked very approachable, but in this situation, everyone unconsciously followed her instructions.

"You wanted to frame her, so you deliberately chose an angle that wouldn't be captured on camera when you pushed her." Jiang Yixing pointed at Li Yan, whose face turned even paler.

"Unfortunately, I caught Gu Ruini. You failed, but it's okay, you still have another move."

“You know Gu Ruini very well, and you know she won’t let you off easily. So you hired paparazzi beforehand, and with the double protection of video and audio, you’ll definitely be able to produce the content you want in post-production.”

As everyone followed Jiang Yixing's train of thought, their gazes toward Li Yan were filled with a hint of fear.

The person most feared in the entertainment industry is the one who stabs you in the back at the end; their scheming is truly vicious.

Li Yan's face had already lost all color, and the paparazzi also looked extremely grim; they had gotten themselves into big trouble.

After Jiang Yixing finished speaking, there was a moment of silence among the crowd before they began to whisper among themselves.
