Jiang Cheng followed her gaze and realized that there were cameras everywhere in the room. However, these cameras only flashed a faint red light occasionally, as if deliberately trying to hide their presence, which is why Jiang Cheng did not notice the strangeness in the room at first.
He frowned slightly and looked in the direction of the camera.
As Jiang Cheng stared at the dark camera lens, he vaguely saw the mastermind hiding behind the monitor, watching the fight in the room.
What on earth is going on...?
Why were they locked in such a cramped and small room, yet still fought to the death, frantically killing each other until only three survivors remained?
Looking at the ferocious faces of the people on the ground, Jiang Cheng's doubts grew.
At the same time, a familiar electronic noise suddenly flashed through his mind, and the next second, Gu Qingwan's voice slowly rang out.
“Boss, the woman who stood in front of you just now and tried to kill you is September, a top assassin from the Demu family of the Sakura Kingdom.”
"September?"
Upon hearing this name, Jiang Cheng suddenly realized why he had initially felt a sense of familiarity with this woman.
Although he had never met this so-called top assassin from the Sakura Kingdom, September, before, he had heard Gu Qingwan mention her many times. At that time, September was even brought to the Federation by Gu Qingwan to teach Luo Xiaoli and the others sword skills.
All these memories surged back into Jiang Cheng's mind, and roughly helped him to understand the current situation.
Jiang Cheng couldn't be happy to hear Gu Qingwan's voice; instead, he continued to ponder the situation in this dream dimension.
Based on September's identity and the fact that the blonde girl had spoken in the language of the Sakura Kingdom, Jiang Cheng could roughly guess that he was currently in the Sakura Kingdom.
But who is he? And where is this place? Besides September, what is the identity of that blonde girl?
All of this has not yet been fully answered, so he can only remain silent for the time being.
Just as Jiang Cheng was pondering all of this, a series of grating metallic sounds suddenly came from the heavy, dimly lit doorway, extremely piercing and scraping against the eardrums of the three of them.
The blonde girl frowned in discomfort, wanting to cover her ears with her hands, but the injury on her arm prevented her from doing so. September, however, showed no change whatsoever; her expression remained calm and composed, as if she hadn't heard the noise at all. If she hadn't responded to the blonde girl's words earlier, Jiang Cheng might have genuinely doubted that she could hear anything!
Not long after, it seemed that a heavy iron chain on the outside of the gate was pulled down, accompanied by a huge roar and a loud bang. After that, the dilapidated and old gate finally opened.
A sliver of light peeked through the crack in the door, gradually illuminating the dim room. The faces of the corpses on the floor appeared even more grotesque, like restless ghosts in the bright light, yet utterly motionless.
The blonde girl took a step forward, but instead of rushing out, she leaned against the doorpost and slowly turned around, pinching the huge scar on her left arm and staring at Jiang Cheng with disdain.
Although Jiang Cheng was puzzled, he was not afraid of her gaze and simply stared at her quietly.
He could tell, of course, that the woman had something to say.
The blonde girl didn't hesitate. She just snorted and slowly said, "Congratulations on surviving again by relying on those... unorthodox methods. Heh, I hope you'll be just as lucky next time."
She emphasized "congratulations" and "good luck" very heavily, as if she was deliberately stressing something.
Jiang Cheng didn't understand her meaning, and just thought to himself, "Unorthodox methods? What unorthodox methods?"
As the blonde girl mocked Jiang Cheng with disdain, September also turned her head slightly and stared at Jiang Cheng with an indifferent gaze. There seemed to be a hint of disdain in her tightly pursed lips.
After the blonde girl finished speaking, the two left side by side, leaving Jiang Cheng standing there stiffly.
At the same time, from the other side of the door, a somewhat aged but still imposing voice rang out.
Three people passed the test!
Upon hearing this, and watching the two girls gradually disappear into the light, Jiang Cheng naturally wouldn't waste any more time here. Instead, he put his hands on his knees, straightened his back, and walked out step by step.
After taking his first step, Jiang Cheng suddenly felt a sharp pain throughout his body, as if a giant iron hammer had slammed into his forehead, leaving his limbs numb and tingling. If he hadn't managed to hold on with his core and used the last vestiges of his consciousness to support his body, he probably would have collapsed into the pool of blood after taking that first step, lying among the already dead corpses.
Fortunately, the distance from where he stood to the door wasn't too far. He tried his best to move his feet and managed to reach the door frame before he ran out of energy.
As his body swayed, Jiang Cheng quickly reached out and grabbed the door frame, his fingers gripping the cold touch tightly, barely managing to steady himself before collapsing to his knees.
"call!"
He let out a long breath, and the dizziness in his head rose sharply and intensified, to the point that Jiang Cheng could no longer see anything in front of him.
It's a bit like low blood sugar, and also like the weakness after physical exhaustion.
But none of that matters.
He's out.
Jiang Cheng tried to stay still for a while, until he felt his body gradually returning to normal, before slowly opening his eyes.
