Chapter 258 Who does his daughter inherit this greedy habit from?

Nancy stared at the men outside the car, her expression turning to despair. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then suddenly opened them again, her mind made up. "Chu Rou, thank you for taking care of me these past few days!"

After saying that, Nancy tried to open the car door to get out, but found that the door was locked.

"Chu Rou, open the car door and let me out. I'll hold them off, you go quickly!"

Chu Rou turned to look at Nancy, her eyes resolute. "My dad is almost here. Just hold on for a few more minutes, and I won't let you go out alone."

As those men approached with iron bars in their hands, even the best car couldn't withstand a few minutes of beatings!

"Chu Rou, let me out of the car. The person they're looking for is me," Nancy said anxiously.

Chu Rou's heart was racing. She was very nervous, but she couldn't bring herself to send Nancy away. She had no choice but to take a gamble. She glanced at Chu Weize's location, which was getting closer and closer. She just needed to wait a little longer.

The men approached the vehicle and saw Nancy inside. Instead of striking the window with their iron bars, they politely tapped the window gently with their fingers, as if they had something to say.

Nancy kept a close eye on them. They were talking outside, but the car windows were too soundproof, so she couldn't hear what they were saying. Nancy read Corey's name from their lip movements.

Could it be one of Morrison's men?

"Chu Rou, roll down the car window a little. They shouldn't be the ones chasing me."

"Huh? Really?" Chu Rou's body went limp instantly. She rolled down the car window a little and heard a voice outside, "Miss Nancy, we were sent by Mr. Corey to protect you."

Nancy breathed a sigh of relief, but she still didn't trust these people easily and said to them, "Call Corey, I need to verify your identities."

One of the men took out his phone, dialed a number, and after several rings, the other end answered. The man explained a few words into the phone and then slipped the phone through the crack in the car window.

Nancy caught the phone and held it to her ear. "Hello?"

Corey paused for two seconds after hearing Nancy's female voice before reacting, "Is that Miss Nancy? I'm so glad you're alright. The master sent people to pick you up and take you back to the country. These people are there to protect you."

"Okay, I understand. I'll be back as soon as possible."

Nancy hung up the phone and completely relaxed. "Chu Rou, it's alright now."

Chu Rou unlocked the car, leaned on the steering wheel, and remained stunned for a long time; she was almost in tears from fright.

Nancy opened the car door, got out, and spoke to the people outside.

Just then, the roar of a car engine came from not far away, and then four or five cars surrounded the area in front.

Chu Rou looked up and looked over at the same time as the people outside the car.

As soon as the car came to a stop, the door opened, and Chu Weize got out with a large machete, slamming the door shut.

"Bang, bang, bang!" Eight or nine more bodyguards in black came down, each carrying something in their hands.

The men around Nancy tensed up. When Nancy saw that it was Chu Weize, she blinked, not quite recognizing him.

Chu Weize, his eyes bloodshot, charged forward wielding a machete.

Chu Rou had a bad feeling and quickly ran out of the car to greet Chu Weize, "Dad, don't misunderstand, they're not bad people!"

Seeing that Chu Rou was unharmed, Chu Weize put away his ferocious expression and put down the cleaver. "Rou Rou, are you alright?"

"It's alright, it's alright!" Chu Rou patted her chest, having just calmed down. "These people came to pick up Nancy; the bad guys didn't follow."

After Chu Rou finished speaking, the two groups in front of and behind her visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Chu Weize let Chu Rou and Nancy get into his car, while Chu Rou's car was given to someone else to drive.

Morrison's men also got into the car and followed behind Chu Weize's car.

Chu Rou's car was at the very back.

Just as they started moving, two more cars sped up from behind and blocked Chu Rou's car.

The four bodyguards in the car raised their eyebrows. Damn! We've got a job!

One of the bodyguards calmly dialed Chu Weize's number. "Boss, our car has been intercepted by two other vehicles. Foreigners got out of the cars, and they were carrying weapons."

"Let's drive back immediately and stop them!"

Chu Weize hung up the phone and immediately directed the cars behind him to turn around and drive back.

"Dad, what's wrong?" Chu Rou asked curiously.

Chu Weize turned around, glanced at Nancy first, and then looked at Chu Rou, "The group that kidnapped you two has caught up. They've come at the right time. We have to deal with them today, so we don't have to live in fear every day from now on."

Nancy looked ashamed. "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."

Chu Weize didn't say anything, but turned around and sat down.

Chu Rou put her arm around Nancy's shoulder. "Nancy, don't blame yourself. I said I would take responsibility for your money. Besides, our relationship is no longer just about money. I genuinely consider you a friend."

Nancy hugged Chu Rou, "Chu Rou, we'll always be friends!"

Chu Weize sighed silently. Who did his daughter take after for her greed? She almost lost her life again for a million. He still hadn't given her enough. He had to work harder to earn money for his daughter!

By the time Chu Rou and her group drove back to their original location, the people in the two cars had already been subdued.

Morrison's men wanted to kill them, but Chu Weize stopped them, saying, "This isn't the United States."

"Dad, take them to the police station. I've already reported Nancy's pursuit in City C to the police, and Uncle Lu is arresting people!"

Chu Rou felt that dealing with these foreigners would be troublesome, and it would be best to hand them over to the police.

Chu Weize thought so too. This was a transnational murder case, and he hadn't done anything, so he didn't want to get himself into trouble.

The person was taken to the police station, and Chu Rou and Nancy, as the parties involved, went to give their statements.

By the time we finished, it was almost dark.

Nancy was still taken home by Chu Rou, who locked Morrison's men outside the villa.

Chu Rou knew that Nancy would be leaving to return to China soon, and she was very reluctant to see Nancy go. She planned to take Nancy to have a good time in City B for a few days.

...

Corey reported Nancy's situation to Morrison.

"The people who were chasing Miss Nancy were sent by her sister, Laura."

“Lola?” Morrison didn’t recognize her. The William family was a mess, and he couldn’t remember who was who. He only knew Nancy.

“She came from Dream Creek Manor. She entered the manor in the same batch as Miss Nancy. She was also the one who took Miss Nancy’s younger brother, Ivan, away. She and Ivan went to accompany Martin.”

Corey mentioned Ivan again, saying that if the boss was willing to help, it would be like saving a life.

Morrison gave Corey a cold glance and said nothing more.

Corey shuddered. His boss's eyes were terrifying. He deserved to die. Why did he have to be so talkative?
