Take light steps and keep moving forward.
Before me was a narrow alley, and deep within it was a dim yellow lamp, casting long shadows.
On either side of the road were two high stone walls, and apart from Uncle and Wan'er, there was no one else in sight...
After taking only a few steps, "Squeak!" Two mice crawled out of the sewer in the corner of the wall.
As they passed by Wan'er and her uncle's feet, instead of fleeing, they came forward one after the other, preparing to climb onto Wan'er's feet...
"Watch out!" Uncle was extremely nervous when he saw this. He raised his copper pipe, but he didn't dare to smash it down for fear of breaking the bowl's foot.
"It's nothing, just an illusion." Wan'er raised her hand, turned around and lifted her uncle's pipe, reminding him not to be nervous, "Don't shout, or they'll find out."
Uncle nodded and slowly put down his pipe. Wan'er casually slapped down, and the two rats turned into two wisps of green smoke and disappeared one after the other.
"Wan'er, you're amazing." Uncle gave Wan'er a thumbs up.
“Follow behind me, I’ll remind you,” Wan’er said as she walked. She walked along the base of the wall for about ten steps and came to the center of the left side of the high wall.
She glanced up, then stepped into the stinking ditch. After taking two steps, she pushed herself against the wall. As she moved forward, Wan'er's figure vanished instantly.
"Hey! Wan..." Looking at the city wall covered with thick moss, Uncle was somewhat stunned.
"Come in quickly!" Just then, a hand reached out from inside the wall and grabbed the uncle's arm. The uncle looked at himself in surprise. As the arm passed through the city wall, there was an ancient tree in front of him, its branches bare, without a single leaf.
"Come with me, don't be afraid." Wan'er lowered her voice and continued to pull her uncle along, actually walking towards the trunk of the big tree...
Strangely, upon stepping down the tree trunk, they found a long staircase. Following the staircase down more than a dozen steps, the two passed through a narrow opening.
Although the light in front of me was dim, my field of vision was much wider than before.
"An ancient tomb!" The next second, what Uncle saw before him was a huge burial ground built of stone blocks. The burial ground was oval in shape.
Ahead stood a nameless tombstone. Withered grass grew on the grave mound, and moss covered the darkened stone slabs.
"Isn't this the city center? How could there be an ancient tomb?" The uncle was taken aback and rubbed his eyes.
"Just tap it with your pipe and you'll know." Wan'er stood before the grave, took a deep breath, and reached out to push the tombstone in front of her.
Curious, the uncle picked up his pipe and tapped the stone slab. "Ding-ding!" The sound was rather crisp, unlike the sound made by the thick stone slab.
At this moment, the stone tablet was opened, and Wan'er went inside. Uncle breathed a sigh of relief, put his hands behind his back, relaxed, and followed her in...
This was a small space, about the size of an elevator, but the walls were still made of stone slabs. Wan'er pressed a button on the empty wall.
Sure enough, it felt like being in an elevator. Her body stretched upwards, reaching about the fourth floor, when suddenly, with a "clunk!" her feet came to a stop. This time, Wan'er was very careful. She peeked out to look around, then quickly pulled her uncle out...
After standing still, Wan'er took out a small bottle from her backpack, opened the cap, and poured a drop of something resembling water into her palm. A faint, pleasant fragrance wafted out...
