Wan'er stretched out her hands, rubbed them together in her palms, then turned around and turned her palms over towards her uncle's position...
A faint, pleasant fragrance suddenly wafted in, followed by a musty smell that drifted away from the tip of the nose. Before their eyes, a wisp of white smoke rippled like waves, and after the mist dissipated, a dilapidated little building appeared, the kind from the 1970s or 80s, with sewage flowing down its white exterior walls. Wan'er and her uncle stepped out of the elevator one after the other and reached the end of the corridor...
"How..." Uncle was about to say something
With her back to him, Wan'er raised her hand to her shoulder and waved to him, signaling him not to speak.
Uncle naturally understood Wan'er's meaning.
The two of them took a deep breath almost simultaneously, activated their spiritual light, and naturally could see the surrounding scenery without needing to illuminate it.
It was pitch black all around, and there was no sound or human presence. After climbing a few steps up the stairs, I came to a rooftop platform. The platform was a bit damp, and there were platforms all around, but there were no railings, only concrete edges less than ten centimeters high.
In the corner to the right, there were several pieces of discarded clothing and some bottles and jars, which were filthy and smelled of decay.
Looking further ahead, a small, solitary pavilion stood on the platform. The exterior of the pavilion was also mottled and drenched by the rain. Uncle stepped forward and saw a small window in the pavilion. He continued to look for a door frame, but found no way to enter or exit.
"Is it another illusion?" Uncle asked in a low voice, puzzled, as Wan'er walked over from the opposite side.
"No," Wan'er reached out and touched the wall, then shook her head. She didn't answer further, only glancing at the window. The window was at waist level or above, making it seem easy to enter.
Without hesitation, Wan'er stepped onto the window sill and climbed inside. Seeing this, her uncle also bent down and followed...
"Something seems off." The uncle entered the attic, and as he casually turned his head, he saw a window in the opposite house. "How come there's a window right in front of me here..."
"What?" Sensing her uncle's confusion, Wan'er turned around and looked over. After a careful examination, she was filled with surprise and anger. "Isn't this my room? From this angle, I can see everything inside clearly. So they were spying on me here!"
"Damn it!" Uncle clenched his fists.
"Never mind that for now, let me see if there's an exit here." Wan'er bit her lip, turned around, and started to step forward, probing the ground. Then she squatted down and picked up a small brick, tapping it on the ground repeatedly...
"Puff puff!" Just then, a strange sound came from the attic window. Immediately afterwards, the uncle who was blocking the window turned his head and felt something flapping its wings and swooping towards it.
"Ouch!" A sharp pain instantly spread from behind Uncle's ear.
A fist-shaped face with a mouthful of teeth and a ferocious expression appeared before Uncle. A bat with a pair of pointed ears stood up, flapping its large wings. It was hairless, yet dark and ugly.
"Die!" Uncle's face darkened, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He suddenly raised his pipe, veins bulging on the back of his hand, and the pipe gleamed as he brought it down forcefully towards the arrogant bat-headed figure before him. "Thud!"
"Wow!" A bat let out a scream, then instantly turned into a wisp of green smoke and vanished...
At the same time, another bat flew in through the window, aimed directly at Wan'er's back, and prepared to bite...
At this moment, Wan'er didn't notice at all that a wisp of red light appeared faintly under her left armpit. Upon seeing the red light, the bat paused.
"Pfft!" Seizing the opportunity, and not waiting for Wan'er's reaction, Uncle raised his pipe once more...
