Chapter 33 Entrusting the kitten to Su Mei

Early in the morning, Wan'er woke up from her dream, turned to look at the alarm clock on her bedside table, and seeing that it pointed to seven in the morning, she quickly got up, dressed, and busied herself with washing and grooming. When she came out of the dressing room…

Three small plates were already on the table. Steam rose from each plate, and each plate contained a fried egg.

Next to the eggs were three cups of prepared milk. At that moment, a sound came from the kitchen, and a short while later, Su Mei, wearing a floral apron, came out carrying a white porcelain basin containing small pieces of fresh cake.

“You,” Wan’er paused, seemingly surprised, “you got up so early? And even made breakfast.”

“I bought the cake from downstairs, but I changed it a bit.” Su Mei placed the plate in the middle of the table and stood up straight beside it. Her complexion still looked a little sallow, but she seemed a bit more energetic. She seemed to be coping well with the setback she had suffered in her relationship. “I thought about it carefully last night, and you’re right. Maybe in the future, I will spend more time with the little prince, and I should take the initiative to accept him.”

"Meimei, thank you!" Wan'er was touched to hear Su Mei say that. After all, she was her best friend, and she would always accommodate her.

"I should be thanking you." Su Mei pulled Wan'er to sit down at the table, pointing to an extra glass of milk and eggs on the table. "This last portion is for him. You eat it and go to work. I'll give it to him later. Don't worry, I'll try to get along with him."

"Alright, then the little prince is yours to keep." Wan'er rubbed her torn nose and picked up the fork on the table...

"Meow!" Wan'er heard a cat meowing as she got up after finishing her meal. She turned around and saw the kitten coming out of the bedroom door. Wan'er breathed a sigh of relief. She turned around, walked over to him, bent down, and picked up the little prince. "Little prince, your sister Wan'er is going to work now."

"Meow!" The kitten raised its head and responded, though its meow was rather loud. *Wan'er, when did you become my sister?* You know, we spirit cats need at least a hundred years of cultivation before we develop our own thoughts and can understand human speech. Although I can't remember some things, I'm sure my cultivation is more than a hundred years old. Looking at you, you're probably only around 20, and you call yourself "sister"? Are you kidding me? Thinking this, the kitten puffed up its whiskers and twitched angrily.

"Look at your little face, why are you still so angry?" Wan'er reached out and pinched the kitten's cheek. "You need to learn to get along well with Sister Su Mei so that Wan'er can feel at ease. Don't get angry so easily!"

As Wan'er finished speaking, she glanced back at Su Mei, who was smiling faintly and hadn't backed away in fright. It seemed she genuinely wanted to get along with the little prince.

Wan'er secretly breathed a sigh of relief, picked up the kitten, and turned to place it on the stool next to the dining table. "Look, all the food on here was prepared for you by Sister Su Mei. You should thank her properly..."

"No need to thank me, no need to thank me, it's what I should do." Su Mei waved her hands repeatedly, her face full of humility and obedience, a stark contrast to her behavior yesterday.

For Wan'er's sake, I'll endure it for now. I want to see what tricks you, woman, can pull. The little prince turned his head and looked Su Mei up and down.

"I'll be right back after work." Glancing at the clock on the wall, Wan'er hurriedly said goodbye to the little prince and Su Mei…

"Don't worry." Su Mei still had a faint smile on her face as she saw Wan'er to the door.
