Chapter 259 She subconsciously opened her mouth and took a bite

When the man's slightly cool lips touched her skin, a tingling sensation immediately spread throughout her body.

Rong Qingqing was stunned and speechless.

Soon, Xie Jingrun sucked out a mouthful of blood and spat it onto the water plants next to him.

Seeing the bright red blood dripping down the leaves of the water plants, Rong Qingqing finally came to her senses and reached out to push him, "You don't need to suck anymore. That snake shouldn't be poisonous." If it were poisonous, the blood should be black.

"Hmm." Xie Jingrun responded in a low voice, straightened up, and stopped letting her suck his blood.

He actually knew that the water snake wasn't poisonous, but seeing the girl's frightened expression, he inexplicably sucked on her wound to draw out the blood, just to put her at ease.

Rong Qingqing looked up at him, but suddenly froze.

There was still some bright red blood on Xie Jingrun's lips, and he had an indescribable sinister charm.

"What's wrong?" Xie Jingrun asked in a low voice, noticing her unusual behavior.

“There’s blood on the corner of your mouth,” Rong Qingqing said softly, pointing to the left corner of his mouth.

Xie Jingrun was taken aback. He raised his finger and wiped it, and sure enough, he saw blood on his finger.

"It's nothing," he said casually, and was about to release her.

Rong Qingqing then realized that she was still nestled in his arms, and immediately took a few steps back in fright.

"Um... thank you for tonight!" she said, lowering her head somewhat awkwardly.

Xie Jingrun glanced at her, said nothing, and turned to walk towards the shore.

"Where are you going?" Rong Qingqing asked hurriedly, looking at him nervously. She was still traumatized by the snake bite she had just experienced.

"I'll go get the pheasant." Xie Jingrun paused, then turned back to explain.

"Oh." Rong Qingqing's lips moved, but she hesitated to speak.

Xie Jingrun immediately saw her concerns. "I'll be back soon." He paused, then reassured her, "Don't worry, I just checked, there won't be any more snakes in the pool."

Hearing this, Rong Qingqing breathed a sigh of relief, "Mm."

Seeing him go ashore, she couldn't help but say, "Why don't you hand me your clothes?" She felt strange and uncomfortable without any clothes on.

"Mm." Xie Jingrun responded, walked over, and placed the dress next to the hot spring pool.

Seeing him turn and leave, Rong Qingqing swam over and put on her clothes one by one.

Even though I'm wearing wet clothes, it's better than not wearing any at all.

Touching her soaked clothes, she slowly exhaled.

After a while, Xie Jingrun returned with the slaughtered pheasant.

Rong Qingqing lay on the edge of the pool, watching him roast the pheasant.

Neither of them spoke; only the wind rustling through the woods and the chirping of birds could be heard.

Before long, the aroma of roasted chicken wafted through the air. Xie Jingrun looked up, intending to ask Rong Qingqing to wait a little longer before eating, but instead saw her asleep on the edge of the pool.

He stared blankly at her unguarded little face as she slept, lost in thought for a moment.

He only snapped out of his daze when the aroma of roasted chicken filled the air. He picked up the roasted pheasant and walked toward the girl in the pond.

Rong Qingqing was a little tired, and after lying down for a while, she fell asleep.

In her sleep, she suddenly felt herself nestled in a broad embrace, and a fragrant aroma wafted to her nose, like the smell of roast chicken. She instinctively opened her mouth and took a bite.

"Oh!"

The man's deep laughter reached her ears, and she was stunned.

She wondered, why did she think she heard Xie Jingrun's voice?

She woke up and opened her eyes to see the man's handsome face so close to hers in the moonlight, his straight nose almost touching hers.

She was stunned for a moment, and just as she was about to speak, she found something stuffed into her mouth.

She chewed for a moment before realizing that she hadn't been dreaming.

Looking at the bewildered girl, a smile flickered in Xie Jingrun's deep eyes.

"Is it good?" he asked gently.

Rong Qingqing nodded. "Delicious." Her gaze fell on the chicken leg in his hand, and she swallowed hard.
